Campbell House is a really interesting historic tourist place in Spokane. You can enter for free with a ticket from the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture next door ($15 for an adult ticket). Totally worth it. I did a self-guided tour and still learned a lot about the Campbell family, the stories behind the house, and how locals helped restore it. The house feels like stepping back into the early 1900s, with so much attention to detail in the furniture and decor. Every room has something to notice. I kept taking photos everywhere because it's honestly so beautiful, I just can't stop. If you're in Spokane, this is one of those places you shouldn't miss. Highly recommend especially if you love history or want to entertain your family/friends while you're here. read more

Are you bored? Want to get out of the cold and rain and don't want to go to the mall, this is an option to come see. Is it the best option, no, just an option. YOu decide. This is part of the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture. The entry is $12 and if you are AAA, you get $1 off. I gave the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture 2 stars and I will give Campbell House 3 stars. While this is a historical house and it is a nice piece of history, the price value to allotted time is lacking in my opinion. We arrived at 11:55 and waited outside on the porch till it opened because it was raining. The employees opened the doors at noon and welcome us in, but the rest of the staff was running a bit late. While the employees are standing guard, they won't really talk unless you approach them and ask questions. And then some of our questions, they did not know the answer. We walked the house and read what signs we could and left. read more

I could come here every single day. It's so absolutely beautiful it's surreal. You can do a tour alone and it feels so magical or a tour with the staff and they are so knowledgeable!! You learn so much. Recommend checking out the cemetery after where the Campbell's are buried it's beautiful read more

Beautiful on the outside and in. Mostly authentic furnishings, wallpaper and furniture or at least authentic to the pieriod. Very dark, lots of standing and some stairs might make it difficult for some folks. But well worth the visit. read more

The stately mansion nestled in historic Browne's Addition, by the Museum of Art and Culture was designed by famed architect Kirtland Cutter and Karl Malmgren in 1898. I have loved this house since I was seven years old and took my first class field trip here. It was here that I fell in love with architecture and construction and history. Now is the point where one might anticipate a turn in the story to include "and then I became an architect/contractor/historian". Nope. I didn't actually go to college for very long, but that didn't stop me from appreciating the truly magnificent nature of home building in the early 1900s. Those were days when you presented your calling card when you came to visit. You had a carriage and a milkman and your streets were cobble stoned and you had servants and a carriage house. The house itself is a wonderful example of victorian era decor. We would give it a five if only the house still had it's original furnishings. Some of the original furnishings are present, and replacements are in character with the home. They have done an exceptional job of reproducing wall treatments, and fortunately many of the best original wall surfaces are still intact. If you like victorian or just historic homes the Campbell House is well worth the visit. (And, your ticket gets you into their local art gallery and museum as well.) It is a guided tour, so the guide sets the pace, pretty much, but a few questions can slow them down for a better look. It is a leisurely tour, but they do try to stay to their schedule. There are a few extraordinary homes near by so when you're done take a walk in the neighborhood to add a little icing to the cake. read more

If you are visiting Spokane and want a peek into the past, the tour of the Campbell Mansion was outstanding. Our tour guide's name was Jim. He did an outstanding job taking us back in time. He was very knowledgeable and so interesting to listen to. The building itself is made from the finest material available during that time era. This home takes you right back to the late 1800'S. The gold leaf beaded original doors can still be seen in the house today as well as the gold leaf fireplace mantle in the front parlor. There is a good feeling in this old house that leads me to believe Mrs. Campbell the heart of the home, was a wonderful lady. Well worth the $5.00 entry fee. read more

This house is awesome and beautiful. Our tour guide was ok but seemed nervous and not as knowledgeable as I think he should of been. And another thing that I wish they could explain is why Mr. Campbell had a work office in the servants quarters. It seems very weird and not accurate to the time period. I just don't understand. It seem more like that room would of been the bedroom for the head Butler. Other than that this is a great gem in Spokane and worth seeing at least once. This house however had many stairs so anyone who has problems with stairs my not be able to see the house. read more
