He was so cute!! Glad to check it off my list! We had a great time searching for it. The button is kind of hidden, but you press it and it sucks the trash up.

Trash Goat !

Trash Goat was super easy to find. Took lots of pictures . The button to activate the trash can is on the right side of the goat.

The goat!!! He sucks up garbage and is fun got all ages. A Spokane landmark not to miss. It's located right next to the carousel.

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!!

To rate the Garbage Goat anything less than 5 stars seems downright criminal. This was one of my favorite things about Spokane! The goat is exactly what it sounds like: a cool metal billy goat sculpture that you can feed trash! Yes, you take your trash, hold it up to his mouth, and WHOOSH, he sucks up the trash! As you can imagine, kids love this thing. I think every city needs their own Garbage Goat because the area around him in the park was absolutely spotless! Everyone was running around looking for trash to "feed" the goat, LOL. This is a must see if you're visiting Spokane. It's free and open 24/7. Located right by the indoor carousel. This is likely the only tourist attraction in the country where I feel the need to say this: bring your own trash!

This was one of the highlights of my short visit to Spokane. I was told during dinner that I would have an opportunity to "feed the goat". I was curious and excited like a small child ready to go to the toy store, picturing an enclosed fence or a zoo with a white bearded goat eating out of my hand. "Bring your napkins and paper and the goat will eat it, trust me!" "Okay, whatever I gotta see this!" We took a stroll to the Riverfront Park in Downtown Spokane; lo and behold a metallic goat statue with a "suction mouth". We "turned it on" by pressing the white button on the wall and proceeded to feed our newly found friend with paper trash and ripped up newspaper. Apparently after the trash is sucked into the goat it gets transported to a trash can connected to its butt. Bring the kids - it's just that cool, man.

respect, THE goat

Seriously, how could you NOT love the goat? His only flaw is that he doesn't recycle. I am proposing the city of Spokane erect a recyclable-devouring llama for two purposes: 1) It's hard not to feel naughty putting aluminum and glass into the goat, this would give you a much better alternative. 2) To protect trash goat from coyote. (also: graffiti-spraying "punkasses")

Kids loved playing with this goat and feeding it small pieces of garbage - a novelty.

We had fun with the "garbage goat"! Push the button FIRST and then put the trash in the goats mouth. A fun way to take out the trash! :)

I did a self-guided tour and still learned a lot about the Campbell family, the stories behind the house, and how locals helped restore it. The house feels like stepping back into the early 1900s, with so much attention to detail in the furniture and decor. Every room has something to notice. I kept taking photos everywhere because it's honestly so beautiful, I just can't stop. If you're in Spokane, this is one of those places you shouldn't miss. Highly recommend especially if you love history or want to entertain your family/friends while you're here.

This is part of the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture. The entry is $12 and if you are AAA, you get $1 off. I gave the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture 2 stars and I will give Campbell House 3 stars. While this is a historical house and it is a nice piece of history, the price value to allotted time is lacking in my opinion. We arrived at 11:55 and waited outside on the porch till it opened because it was raining. The employees opened the doors at noon and welcome us in, but the rest of the staff was running a bit late. While the employees are standing guard, they won't really talk unless you approach them and ask questions. And then some of our questions, they did not know the answer. We walked the house and read what signs we could and left.

This is a gorgeous park and botanical garden bustling with people and butterflies and life!…read moreWe stopped here to have some lunch under the covered picnic area and were surrounded by green grass and the sound of children playing at the nearby playground. There was a cool breeze through the canopies on a very warm day and garbage cans to dispose of our leftovers. When we stumbled upon the gorgeous flower gardens, I could not believe it. There were multiple gardeners working outside of the conservatory and although it was closed, I can't imagine that there was anything more beautiful inside than what we saw outside. We were able to sit over at the benches and rally enjoy the fountain and manicured flowers. There was a large, veryrude family that did come through who wanted to scream at their kids and then try to take photographs in front of the flowers like a happy family. Then allow their smaller children to stomp through the flowers and scream loudly while they stared at their phones. And there were of course at least two young ladies posing for "the gram" that picked flowers and made obnoxious gestures in ridiculously skimpy clothes... I guess those types of things can't be helped these days and they are no reflection on the garden itself, just be prepared for your peace to be interrupted. We also made a quick stop at the Rose garden which I did not find to be quite as beautiful but smelled lovely... There were just too many bugs and it was there were just too many bugs and it was far too warm to spend much time there. If I lived closer to this park, I would come everyday to listen to the sound of the fountain and appreciate the beauty of the topiaries and flowers and I would recommend a stop here for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature.
