Today I weighed in for the completion of my Six Week Hardbody Challenge where I had to lose 5% of my body fat. I lost a total of 3%. Even though I didn't meet the goal, I am still very satisfied with my result because not only do I feel stronger but I also have more energy throughout the day. When I first learned about the Camp from a friend, I wasn't sure I would be able to do it. I have always been intimidated about going to a gym because I wasn't comfortable in my own skin and always assumed and the fit people working out would judge me. But this was not the case at all at The Camp. There are people of of shapes, sizes and age who are taking the workout class and breaking a sweat right along side you. The energy of the Camp is unlike a traditional gym. The best time to go is in the mornings when the lights are off and the dance lights are on. The trainers play upbeat and energetic music that helps you keep the rhythm of the exercises. The athletic trainers are great and can tailor the workouts individually if necessary while still delivering the heart rate necessary to burn calories. The front office staff is really friend and always super helpful, answering any and all question you may have. read more

Did my first Deka strong today. It was great experience. Everything was well organized and the staff was really nice. Thank you!

Disappointing to say the least!!! Their customer service is non existent, it was very difficult to get questions answered after I signed the contract. I tried via text, Facebook, and sometimes staff on site "wasn't sure" . There is so much I can say but basically, I do NOT recommend this specific location. During my first week of workouts, I was struggling with lower back pain so I approached the trainer asked what I could do to help. His response was "nothing you can do" , I continued with his workout and eventually after realizing I was in pain and his answer was unacceptable, he came to me and corrected my form which helped a little but isn't that his job!? Trainers should be attentive and correct form immediately to avoid injuries ‍ They advertise; Unlimited Classes A Dedicated 6 WEEK Meal Plan Personal Grocery List Personal Accountability Coaches Thriving Online Community Support Nutrition Seminar What you get; Unlimited Classes (Yes, classes are good) Dedicated 6 Week Meal Plan (NO, given a list of "FTDI" food you can eat and 1 day example of what it should look like) Personal Grocery List (NOPE) Persona Accountability Coaches (NO, it was hard to get most of the staff to reply or give me straight answer) Thriving Online Community was actually a Facebook group of other challengers from various camps giving eachother support. 3/3/2018 My friend gifted me a 30-day pass to try out The Camp. She joined a fitness challenge at a different location and loved it. Being that there are not many Camps that are near my home or work, I have The Camp at Pico another shot. Let me start my take on the classes with some clarification. I have not participated, nor would I participate in a fitness challenge they offer. I have simply been searching for a fitness facility that is a good match for me. Customer service: no one ever answers the phones or return calls at this facility. I left countless messages Classes sizes are large (25-30+) and the two trainers assigned to lead the sessions are out numbered. They don't have the ability to truly support and target all members in each session. There is not sufficient padded area for floor exercise. The exercise during warm-ups are switched within 10-15 seconds which is not ideal for beginners or peraons with injury. read more

Yesterday I weighed in for the completion of my 6 week challenge. I lost a total of 23.3 lbs. I can't believe how much stronger I feel. I usually go in the mornings and I feel happier and more energetic through out the day. The Camp is addictive. When I first considered going to The Camp I was intimidated and unsure. I assumed that I would encounter buff gym guys who would pump iron and yell in my face. Instead, you see people of all shapes, sizes and ages. Yes, there are some very in shape people, but they are there sweating right next to you, encouraging you to push through and giving you high fives as you go. People say hello, offer their own victories and struggles as incentive and remind you that it's a journey but you've already made the first step. At the orientation, Jesus Verdiell, gave a very inspiring and matter of fact introduction. You commit and succeed or you don't. The Camp wants you to succeed. Shout out to the trainers who learn your name and encourage you to work harder. Thanks, Stephy, Val and Ana. And thank you to the kind front desk staff, Erika, Victoria and Alex. Érica is a great leader and gave me a hug at the end of my challenge. Do yourself a favor and get healthy. read more

The Camp Pico has been my happy place for the last 7 years! It has been a place where even when I leave I will always find my way back. The trainers are great, helpful, fun, encouraging and always willing to help. The rest of the campers are super helpful and motivating and make you feel like family. Workouts are great, intense and most importantly only 50 minutes. If you're looking for a place to workout and feel comfortable and not feel out of place, you're on the right page. 55lbs down in 7 months and still going strong. I'm stronger and healthier than I've ever been and most importantly I'm excited to keep pushing myself everyday! This is my home away from home. read more

As far as group activities go, exercising in one ranks up there with trust falls, projects, or transmission of communicable diseases. Pretty much, I'd rather go it alone or keep it all within my inner circle of trusted friends. So yes, I was surprised when I came and liked my visit to The Camp. Quick backstory: My Dad has been coming here for 3 weeks and really loves the camaraderie and structure of it. He's an athlete, always has been, and likes the energy. He's a fan of the group vibe, so if that's your deal, have at it and get that heart rate going. Any exercise is great exercise, am I right fellas? There's also The Challenge: Five hundred dollars down, 6 weeks, lose 20 lbs, and get your money back if you complete it. I hear it's super successful and that's why people are so dedicated to coming. I will always applaud people committing themselves to good health and fitness. Hooray! I think there's also a BMI challenge, as well. Overall, the best part was the positive environment. It really was free of that typical snobby attitude you get at other gyms. Here, you come to sweat and feel better. I dig that! The highlights were Ana and Steve. They kicked our butts from here to eternity while remaining so damn positive and helpful. I'd come back to work out with these two alone. They corrected our form and cheered us on through every station. Kind of amazing. Damn, my ass is sore and I love it! read more

Signing up for the 6 week Challenge at the Camp Transformation Center was the best decision I made. I was skeptical at first not knowing much about this center and how this "free" challenge works. Nevertheless since I hadn't had the best results trying on my own, I went to the orientation signed up right away determined to lose weight . Today I completed the 6 week 20lb challenge and this has been my experience: Pros: Classes start and end on time, Trainers are always prepared and explain exercises including a modified version for beginners, music is always great, exercises are challenging, Staff, members and challengers are friendly, helpful and encouraging, fb group for challengers is an awesome tool for us, midway meeting is helpful, Challenge Booklet with meal information is great and needed resource, on site microwave is convenient and ultimately system works for rapid weight loss and hopefully lifelong healthy eating. Cons: -There are no treadmills which is ideal for some of us that have knee or feet issues and could use it for recommended hiit exercises. There are stationary bikes but I prefer a treadmill. -Communicating options/consequences if a challenger does not lose 20lbs at the orientation can be improved. Many (not all) challengers on FB group were confused with the discrepancies of the contract and what was verbally stated or omitted during the orientation. If you meet your goal it is straightforward but if you don't, that is where the confusion lies. Moral of the story, READ CONTRACT CAREFULLY, ask questions and/or use the grace period to read contract and know exactly what you are committing to in order to avoid surprises. Overall, the Camp Transformation is well worth the investment and anyone who makes the decision to COMMIT to the program will get RESULTS. The cons mentioned are super minor in comparison to what this club has to offer and what you will achieve. If you're thinking of joining, DONT HESITATE, you will not regret it!! SIGN UP, COMMIT, BE POSITIVE and JUST DO IT!! Hope this review is helpful! Good luck and hope to see you at the camp! read more

in the beginning of november 2021 i signed up for The Camp. it was my first time trying any workout class like this so i wasn't sure if i would enjoy it. when signing up i explained this to the worker at the front desk and asked if i can make monthly payments that way if i didn't like it i could cancel at the end of the month. the worker at the front desk said this was fine. at the end of november i notified them that i would like to cancel my subscription with them. then in december i was charged around 700 dollars. i was so upset, why would they charge me that much especially after i already told them i wanted to cancel and that i wouldn't be continuing to attend class workouts. i tried calling them to get this resolved no one was answering the phone so i drove to the location and spoke to a different worker who was at the front desk i explained to them what happened and they told me they "didn't see" any recent charges on my account. they also told me that i couldn't get a refund. the worker gave me a number to contact the person who manages this pico location, i messaged them and they were so unhelpful. they didn't want to give me my money back. i decided to drop it because it was clear i wasn't going to be refunded. THEN in january 2022 i was charged AGAIN, another 300 dollars. i called this location once again presenting my issue with them, and this time i spoke to a different worker, she told me that my account was set up on auto pay and that's why i was being charged. i told her that i didn't understand how i could be set up for auto pay when i told them i wanted to cancel at the end of november. she was somewhat helpful, she removed my account and all of my info from their system and apologized, but still couldn't get any of my money back. this place just wants your money. so not worth it, it is one million times better to pay 10-25 dollars a month for a gym membership. trust me you don't need to pay for these "trainers". read more

Let's start by stating that I had not worked out for 4 years prior to starting my weights loss journey with the help of The Camp in Pico!! The instructors have been amazing -every single one of them. Since day 1, I was always treated with respect. If I could do a specific workout out they always provided many options to modify the routine to best fit my fitness level. Don't get me wrong they made sure I was still giving it my all. I am glad to say that I reached my 20 pound weight loss goal and I am going for my 2nd round. I love that they have classes that fit my busy schedule. This was the best investment that I have made in myself for a very very long time. The Camp is a great community of people who want to accomplish there on personal fitness goals. I love it here and will definitely be a long term member. read more

CT is starting to bring new instructors, which is good for all us on changing routine and movements. COVID has changed the way of working out. One thing I do recommend CT to do is lower the volume of the music due to families getting some sleep in the morning and higher the volume after 6am. In addition, having a small light when running/ sprinting in the morning, where the trees are at with the yellow tape for safety reasons and regulations. Seen people slip and fallen. No good. Got to be careful because fall is coming fast and its getting darker. Safety 1st. read more

Joined The Camp because I had a few friends that had amazing results. Was unsure what to expect when I went to the orientation day. Jesus was very encouraging and up front about it not being easy and the cost. I was horribly out of shape when this began and extremely overweight. Began seeing and feeling results within a few days. After 1 week I was down 9.1 pounds. After 2 I was down 15.6. After 3 was down 19.2. After 4 was down 26.5. After 5 was down 31.3. At the end of my 1st 6 week challenge was down 35.4. I did 38 workouts(supposed to do at least 30) and followed diet plan to the ounce. It was one of the best things I have done for myself in a long time. A little sore but looking forward to my next 6 weeks. 9/6/17 So I completed my 2nd challenge. 2nd challenge seemed a little easier to me because I knew what to expect. In the 2nd challenge I lost a total of 38.2 pounds. Now a total of 74.2 pounds. The lightest I have been now in about 10 years. I though I would be going insane the 2nd challenge with the diet but I have had no issues with the diet at all. I truly feel like my lifestyle is changed and am going to be able to keep it off after I am done with challenges. I am moving on to the 3rd challenge and hope to reach my personal goal of losing 100 total pounds. 10/23/17 completed my 3rd challenge. Down 29.3 pounds this challenge. Lost 103.5 pounds total. Exceeded my goal of 100 pounds. Lightest I have been since my mid 20's. The Camp has been one of the best experiences for me and the decision to join has completely transform me. My energy level it at an all time high. Trainers are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the whole process. Come in to one of the orientations and listen to Jesus and know at least in my case he told nothing but the truth and I am extremely happy that I joined and will continue to come and work out here. read more

Challenge Complete I have finally completed my challenge. I have even surpassed my goal. After a lifelong struggle with my weight and wasted gym memberships my wife dragged me into this weird place called The Camp. I didn't know what it was and didn't think it would work but I am so glad that she did. I went from 251.6 to 175.3 That's 76.3 lbs in 18 weeks! I feel great and definitely notice a huge difference in the way my clothes fit. Unfortunately, a lot of my clothes are too big on me now.. time to go shopping? By no means has this been easy but with hard work and dedication I know anyone could do this. This is not a diet, it's a lifestyle! There is no way I would have been able to do this without all the great trainers and staff at The Camp. Thank you all! read more

People are your motivation. When you see the results in those walls with pictures of real people (sometimes working out next to you) you automatically feel inspired, and make you believe that you can do it as well! The same people who are with you cheers you when you feel you can't anymore! Even if it's a small phrase like "come on" or "keep it up" you want to do extra. The place is energetic. I loved to go specially at early mornings. The lights are off and dance club lights are on, while you're listening to music that helps you keep the rhythm on your exercises. I decided to give myself the opportunity to meet the challenge because what does not challenge you does not change you, right? Before accepting the challenge I was subscribed to a gym but the energy transmitted by The Camp is incomparable with memberships in gyms. I loved this experience because I've felt full of energy and with it was a boost of confidence. In the middle of the challenge I had only lost 2 points, and I felt discouraged but I went ahead, I followed all the instructions with no fails the last 3 weeks and it worked. After six weeks I lost 5.3% body fat. The only thing that I didn't like it's that you have to become a member to have Elite Classes with a small group of people and a trainer the trainer you choose. Now that the Challenge is over, I wish we can pay for regular classes everyday and be able to buy Elite Clases without the membership. read more

Horrible. Do not come here. Shady. All they want is your money. I paid the three month commitment during covid Oct 2020 (due to covid concerns and wild fires working out in the parking lot was not the best thing to do for me) . Was promised it would be no problem to putut it on hold and start back up when ready. They kept debiting my bank account after I put the hold. I had to call my bank and rejected any future debits. Alice. Never responded to my emails. Text. Or voice mails. You took my money. Shame on you. BBB review to follow read more

Me encanta este lugar, entrenadores muy profesionales y entrenamientos muy muy buenos!!!!

I started this program to help get someone else in shape.... it ended shaping me up. I lost almost 15 pounds and nearly 8% body fat in 6 weeks. But more than that, it impacted how I live, think, and feel. I was not in bad shape. I am extremely active and am always engaged in some activity. But what I was missing was an understanding of how to fuel my body (food!!!!), how to properly work out in a way to get rid of the extra pounds around my tummy, how to feel comfortable in the weight room, and the little extra confidence that comes from working out with awesome trainers and 30 or so workout partners who become your best friends for at least an hour a day. The program let me be around some committed athletes without attitude and some of the most brave, determined, committed people I have been around who may have only been able to do one pushup or run half a circle around the gym, but they became my heroes because they faced their fears and embraced a challenge that many run from. Pico is far from where I live, but I will always come back here because it is more than just a gym... it is a home. I am and will always be active (God willing), and I am always encouraging people to do triathlons, martial arts, running clubs, century rides, half marathons, master swims, ocean swims and all the other stuff I like to do. But if you ask me what is the one thing I recommend if you want to work your butt off, sweat pounds away, be around awesome people and change your life generally..... THIS IS THE PLACE! read more

The staff is always friendly, from the trainers to the person at the front desk. Im always greeted with a smile. The workouts are great because the trainers change them up so u don't get bored of the same workouts over and over. The camp has a variety of equipment available to use whenever we're there. I love that I don't have to wait for equipment to be available! And last but not least the Camp is always maintained clean and organized! My rating is strictly on a person who works their at the front desk, he says he also the mgr. His name is Jorge. I called today to put my membership on hold for a month due to COVID, Jorge who answers the phone says very quick and rude that they need a two week notice and COVID is not their problem. At this point he did not ask for my info or anything. I say ok and we both hang up, I then call back and say I want to cancel and he says he needs 30 days. Which is fine I then ask if he needs any of my info and he hangs up on me in the middle of talking and calls me right back. He Then finds me in the system and says "I'm full of it, you have COVID again" "COVID is not our problem" after all this I am finally letting him know how rude he is being. I told him I won't be coming back as member. After he looks me up and all his the rude comments have been said he tries to fix it. In all Honesty I been a member here for a very long time I absolutely love all the trainers but if you have this guy representing your front desk and is part of management he needs to be taught customer service skills. It actually hurts to write this review because I like this place but I can take my business elsewhere... like the camp Whittier which is down the st from my home. I'm shocked at how I was treated. I stuck with them through the whole pandemic when there are more local gyms. Jesus (owner) I hope you don't stand by this, this was beyond I don't think I was ever treated this way. I actually wish the call was recorded so you can hear the things he said and his tone of voice. read more
