Owner was so sweet and wholesome, while seating you at your table, and explaining each of the specials. Definitely need to make a reservation as they may turn you away if they are full of reservations. Not pictured, I had a winter sangria which was delicious! We like to sit at the bar at the cabin as all the bartenders are very friendly and very efficient. We also like to watch the cooks in the kitchen. The drinks are excellent and I have never had a bad meal at the cabin. The portions are large and my husband and I will often split an appetizer and split a meal. The seafood trio casserole is our favorite dish there as well as the quesadillas. They also have excellent fried seafood. The french fries are very crisp and fresh. I would highly recommend going there, but you do need reservations if you can't get a seat at the bar because it is always jampacked. read more

Definitely worth a stop! Had a bday party of 5 at peak dinner hours, no reservation, less than 10 min to seat us! The owner was very nice and informative about the gluten free menu. Amazing vibes, they clearly take gluten intolerances seriously. The dinner was lovely, good pizza, fried foods, tender steak, and delicious chicken parm sandwich. The sangria was very tasty. I have a gluten & dairy allergy so of course I had to try the cabin. Most of the gf fried food is good. Can't complain about that. But the service is always super slow. Sometimes it looks like there's only 1 waitress. I have to wait nearly an hour for my food to come out.. and a half hour just to get a drink. The worst part is THE SMELL. idk what's going on in their bathrooms but the entire dining area smells like sewage. I was sat directly across from the bathroom and immediately felt nauseous & lost my appetite from the smell. I figured maybe that was a one time thing. No. I went back in today at 2pm.. I could smell the bathroom from the entry way. I was told there's a 20 minute wait. Yet, the entire dining room was empty? I was confused? Listen- cabin... hire more wait staff. You're always backed up. Your one waitress looks so over worked and stressed out. Stop taking phone orders if you can't keep up with customers that are dining in. Please for the love of god get your septic pumped, get rid of that nasty "air freshener" in the bathroom that's not covering up that sewage smell at all it only makes it worse. The food is about 4 stars, but i bumped up the total ascore because the service is fantastic. All the staff are welcoming and friendly. Very friendly owner and staff. They were packed and everyone was hustling when we arrived; still, our wait was less than 10 minutes. We only wanted a pizza and a salad. Both were very good. It has a large area for outdoor dining and a smaller indoor area decorated in a quaint Americana fashion to match the "Cabin" theme. Never got a chance to sit down, I went in to the cabin at 6:00 on Saturday evening with my wife daughter and two grandchildren(both under 9yrs old), asked for seating for a party of 5, not even two minutes of being there we were told that rudely "we are too busy party of 5 is not happening". First i always order an old fashioned. Anyone who has ever had one knows when it's watered down. It was perfect . What I didn't know that on there drink list they have a maple version which I prefer. And also they have bullitt which most restraunts don't have. The first thing you'll notice when you call for a reservation is they ask you if you have any food allergies. The 2nd thing which was really incredible is the owner greets and seats everyone. He explains everything about the menu and once again asks about any food allergies. Our waitress was really very good. She also asked us about any allergies .I have no allergies. This restaurant has a wide selection of food which I really like. The only thing I would negatively is the side dishes weren't hot enough .my wife got the steamed broccoli and it wasn't steamed enough. I had the mashed red potatoes and they were only warm. For our main meal I had the baked seafood trio which was really good,and my wife had the chicken supreme which she really liked. All in all I will be back next Friday for another review because we eat out every Friday. read more

I thought I was being punked, or there was a hidden camera crew or something. I've never been treated so poorly by a restaurant staff in my life! Pretty bummed, and surprised, since we frequent the Cabin for take out, due to some food allergies in the family. Put in an order for two small pizza's, fish n chips, and a burger last Friday 3/7 about 5pm. Pickup time was supposed to be 5:40pm. Got there at 5:40, and was told "a few more min". Stayed in the foyer of the restaurant, by the hostess, checked again at 5:50... "nope, not ready" checked again at 6, "let me find out" Finally at 6:10 I asked "Can someone please tell me what's going on?" The hostess said "Yeah, you've been here a while, let me check!" And went into the open kitchen where I could see the cooks explaining that it "Just went into the oven". To which I responded "You've got to be kidding me! It's just going in the oven a half house after it was supposed to be picked up!?!?" I was then told by an older woman that they're "Hey! They're short staffed today" and "Relax! It's just pizza!!" I responded "No, It's house full of people, mostly kids, who were expecting to be eating by now!" Then she goes back into the open kitchen... and starts bragging about how she just told me "Relax, it's just pizza!" Finally at 6:25 I left to a bartender yelling "You're welcome!!!" Sarcastically as I walked out the door. I'll never go back there again. Plenty of places that do Gluten Free pizza nowadays. read more

Let me tell you this place is bomb. As in good. I came in the day after the NorEaster and it was the first open place I could find driving west from Plymouth. They rocked it. THE CABIN, Middleboro was on the list yesterday. Arrived about 2:45PM, table for 2. I had no reservation, so we had a 2 or 3 minute wait. As the phone rang, reservations were being taken for up to 8:30PM for tables until none were available. Cassidy was our waitress and a dIine young lady. LOTS of eclectic specials! We settled on the Fisherman's platter for myself, (variety of all fried seafoods, onion rings, French fries, stuffed quahog, chowder and corn bread inclusive) and the bride had the Greek tomato cream soup and chicken Parm. Chowder was an 11 on a 1-10, cream of tomato a 12! Food was all served with love and care, and so so wonderfully tasty. Cassidy got a huge tip as she was attentive, but did not hover. Sweet young lady who really and truly made us feel like we were her only table, but she had quite a few others. We will certainly be back! Second time here and the owner sat us himself and was very nice and attentive the entire night as was our waitress. All staff is extremely kind and the food is the best around! Abner and i shared the fried seafood platter and some clam chowders. The entire meal really hits the spot if you are craving fried clams, scallops, fish and shrimp. Drinks come in a very large glass. We didn't have reservations, but I'm told it's a good thing to do in the future. We were there early and it started to fill up fast, so I can see why calling ahead for a table is a good idea. Service was quick and efficient. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean. You do feel like you are in a cabin if you are seated on the inside. There is an outside patio also. Abner enjoyed our meal at the Cabin and if you are in the Middleboro area and want delicious seafood, we recommend The Cabin. read more

OUTSTANDING!! We called on Friday at 4 to see if they could fit us in for dinner for two. Jon fit us in on the outdoor HEATED patio. It was so nice. Very comfortable. My husband and I had the blueberry & strawberry mojito special. They were awesome! Then we decided to share the seafood feast Platter for two! It was HUGE. Enough for 4! So we had plenty of left overs to take home. It had haddock, shrimp, scallops, clams, homemade chips, onion rings and it came with chowder and stuffed quahogs. Everything was cooked to perfection, our server was friendly, attentive but not a pain (if ya know what I mean) she gave us our space, but took very good care of us! dined here a couple times; have nothing but great things to say. service is welcoming and efficient, server/manager/owner checking in on our meal, beverages refilled promptly. both times i was in there, I saw nothing but smiley faces; they all seem to like working there. owner who greeted us and walked through his menu with us at last visit takes great pride in this baby, and he should. food-wise, portion size is generous, price point affordable, and food quality decent. aside from their EXTENSIVE gluten-free menu including in-house pizza dough or flatbread (forgot which), what really puts them on top --at least for the environmentalist in me -- is the effort they exert in making conscious choices while running the tough, relentless restaurant business. i reckon that these decisions often come with a cost, and The Cabin seems undeterred by the money factor, committed to put people and the environment on the very top of their list. from the little note printed on the straw (see pic), and the kind of doggy bags they provide, every bit of that warms my heart. sure, I could have done better, as in declining the straw (which we did) and bringing our own boxes (which I forgot), but every sustainability effort counts for something and I want to commend The Cabin for playing a great part, by chipping their profits to "give back" to the community and the only world we have to live. we may not be in town often, but for the two big factors above, you bet you will be our number one choice whenever we return! for those looking for a neighborhood pub grub, there's a small bar area by the entrance, equipped with tv and bartender. with the nice people who work there, i have no doubt this would be as close to your personal Cheers as one can get.
