The restaurant is in a strip mall anchored by a Superstore and fairly new. It's great to see amenities popping up around that area. Parking was plentiful. Walking inside brought you back to the past with a diner type vibe. You line up to order and then sit down and they bring the food to you. You have option of pre-set burgers or build your own with what toppings and sauces you like. They also have combos where you can add a side and drink. My wife decided to get a single build your own cheeseburger so she could customize it. The kids ordered the Classic combo (one with onion rings and vanilla milkshake and the other with fries and Orange Fanta to share). I decided on the haddock. Food was so good. Fries were crisp and moist inside. Onion rings were crunchy. The family thoroughly enjoyed the burgers. The haddock was great but could use a bigger patty (the bun was bigger than the patty). Place is open and reminds of a diner. My son and I even watched them flip the burgers which was cool. A few tables to sit down and eat. Staff were friendly. We saw quite a few pick-up orders. We will definitely be back.

We landed there at 11:15 and got seated right away - NO WAITING if you are early. Bit of a smaller place inside than expected, but they now have outdoor seating and for nice hot days, it's probably where I would request to be seated next time. One cautionary note on the parking if you are using the lot right adjacent to the restaurant. it says you can pay via the PayByPhone App. So we went inside and I tried paying by this app for about 5 minutes. I gave up and went out to use the pay machine. JUST IN TIME - the guy was their taking a picture of my license plate to give me a ticket. I showed him the app issues and told him I was trying to pay by the app and now I was using the machine. He glared at me and said I had 2 minutes to do it and I needed to show him the stub in order to avoid the $75 ticket. So I did this and all was good again. CAUTION: for some reason, this location and app are not good friends and while you are struggling with it, this guy may come by and ticket you. On our way out, we saw a few other cars / trucks that had tickets on their windshields. USE THE MACHINE - it takes credit cards. This is an independent lot not run by Class Clown so they cannot assist. Service: very friendly and efficient. We were seated and served almost immediately and given water while we decided what else we wanted. Everyone was pretty friendly and this place had a great vibe. Food: Amazing smash burgers and doubly amazing crinkle cut fries. I am a crinkle cut fries fan. I have sourced out the four or five burger places that offer these types of fries as these are a definite preference. Couple of other places are Inglewood DI and Rosie's. Anyways, I ordered the McD dupe. No bloody way should this be compared in any way to McD. This burger was basic but so beyond the description I have heard put to it. My description would be a smash burger with a very definite crisp and crunch - very good. Fries, basic and poutine-wise was also A-one. Pictures below, my burger had a bite taken out of it already. Overall: 5/5 it was a great experience and we will def go again. To make my burger 100% perfect, I will ask for mushrooms next time. Otherwise, I would go with the same order. I think Jeff would as well. The poutine was his and his burger was half gone by the time I got to taking pictures, ergo - no picture of his burger.

The place is easy to find an near 16th avenue but parking is a challenge as there is limited 2 hour street parking. It's in a residential area so there are lots of permit parking. It's a nice little corner restaurant with lots of seating on patio and also inside. One thing that struck us is the place is super clean and we liked that the restaurant had sustainability practices in place. For example, there is no garbage - only recycling and compost. All their cups and burger boxes are all compostable. They also provided a water dispenser to fill up your water bottles or compostable cup (provided). I even saw outside they had little bowls so even your furry friends can have water. This restaurant, you order at the counter, they give you a buzzer and when food is ready you pick it up. We had 3 Double Empire burgers with cheese, 1 Empire burger with cheese, and order of fries to share, and a chocolate milk share. Also, took advantage of complimentary water and I dispensed waters for the table. Everything was really fresh and tasted great. Burgers had great flavour and didn't fall apart. The fries were nice and crispy with warm soft center. The milkshake was great and not super sweet albeit a bit small. Staff were friendly - they all said bye to us, when we left, like they appreciated us being there. Great food, inviting space, and sustainability practices all make this a 5* review.

I've been a regular at this place for a long time. They know me by name, I bring friends and my…read moregirlfriend, and I've spent thousands here over time. Overall, I've always liked the place -- but there's one employee who consistently ruins the experience. The bigger guy working there -- you know exactly who I'm talking about -- has a terrible attitude every single time. No reason for it. This was the last straw. I came in around 9pm with my girlfriend. The place was nearly empty -- maybe three couples total. He immediately told me, "Sorry man, can't help you, we're way too busy. It's going to be an hour and a half." That made zero sense. I pointed out that the place was basically empty, and he doubled down saying they had too many online orders. That just felt like a lazy excuse to not deal with us. When his coworker looked like he was definitely about to take my order. It's frustrating because the rest of the staff has always been great, but this one person consistently treats customers poorly and doesn't seem interested in doing his job. At this point, I'm done. I won't be coming back or spending another dollar here unless something changes. A good business shouldn't let one employee drag down the entire experience like this. Since the old manager left, the place has clearly gone downhill. The only people consistently doing a great job are the ladies in the kitchen -- they're always friendly and actually make a solid burger. That said, the larger male staff member I mentioned should not be representing this business.

Today I want to focus on the burger kitchen they have tucked away right in the brewery, enter Lil' Empire. RATING: 9/10 - Lil' Empire: Cheese Burger Talk about a glorified Big Mac... this burger was loaded to the nines. Double beef patties (nicely charred), cheese, pickles, tons of sauce, what more cause you ask for? I chowed this down in no time! RATING: 8/10 - Lil' Empire: Dirty Fries These really reminded me of your fast food fries, but with a twist. They were smothered in two sauces, one of which was tangy and mustardy.
