Very poor experience, and for once it wasn't actually busy. usually this place is pretty decent, but maybe the service was very poor. ordered two burgers and four shakes. took about 20 m to get the burgers. king of typical. AND THEN WE WAITED GOR THE SHAKES. And we waited.....AND WE WAITED. we went to the register THREE TIMES to ask about the shakes and the girl literally said "They'll be ready whenever ". WE FINALLY went back towards the back of the house where the make the shakes and the girl said "Oh these have been done for a while". Now they bring the food to you and I kid you not, WE WERE SITTING AT THE LARGE BOOTH RIGHT BY THE END OF THE COUNTER! Not once did the girl at the register even bother to inquire about the shakes. So you know, we kind of frequent here. we are local but our gets were from out of state (they come here every year for the 4th of July). We went to the Burger Dock just for their shakes. On another note, the burgers were way over cooked and very sloppy. not certain who was running the place ye, but what a disappointment!! read more

We were really disappointed leaving the Burger Dock this time around. This was our fourth time coming here, and the last time we went my 6 year old ordered the "littles" grilled cheese meal and it came burnt so she just ate the fries. This time around we asked for it to specifically be lightly browned, and when it first came it was completely black on both sides so they took it back to make it again. When it came again they said "that's as good as it gets because our grill is too hot." It was charred and the cheese in the middle wasn't melted (we took a picture). We love their fries, drinks, and burgers, but for kids that don't like burgers I feel like the Burger Dock would benefit having something like chicken tenders for the kiddos instead of grilled cheese-that they can never cook right. I was really on the fence between 3 and 4 stars. If there was a 3.5 option, I would have chosen it. I chose 4 because it's 2 days after Christmas. The good: staff is friendly, burgers are yummy, fries are well seasoned and the shakes are delicious. The bad: burgers are small, I asked to burn (not extra crispy) my fries. They were soggy. What it has going for it: - location - customer areas look clean - good choices of coke products (freestyle machine) - girl who took my order was nice What it has going against it: - limited parking (tight getting in & out) - food wasn't anything special - pricing is on the high side for what you get - didn't appreciate the girl working the grill finger f#%king my food without gloves on - no building your own burger option - kids working the grill & counter look a little miserable I'll start with pricing & what you get for your buck. Bought a burger (small patty) with cheese (American), bacon(2 slices) & a small fried egg.....$13. Now I would be willing to pay that if I was given the option of say Swiss instead of cheap American cheese, if the burger wasn't over cooked and had some flavor to it. The buns they use seem to be store bought. Maybe tourists will be willing to come here since it's usually one and done for them anyway. I went to the CDA location and this location both in the span of my 10 day trip to the area and I was not disappointed! I came with friends and shared a few burgers and fries as an afternoon snack. We tried the Sticky and shared a ton of fries. I could eat an infinite amount of these fries - they are so good! Our order consisted of the "Fun Guy" burger, a huckleberry milkshake, the kid's grilled cheese, and the kid's PB&J. The burger was mediocre at best. The sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions were tasty, but the small patty size left the burger without any real taste of beef. The grilled cheese must have been made in the Fun Guy burger grease, as it tasted more like a burger than a grilled cheese. The PB&J was served with the heel, resulting in a bread to PB&J ratio that was too much bread. The fries and milkshake were good. Stopped in to get an order to go. Food quality and taste were very good. My problem is the prices, $25 for a cheeseburger, small fry and a chocolate shake, Definitely restaurant prices. I asked for my order to go when they brought out my shake it looked great, really good size, but it was in a glass and not to go. When I reminded them it was to go they said no problem, but when they came back with it in a plastic cup it shrunk by two thirds. It wasn't even 1/2 the size of the original one they brought me. This was my third time here & I remember it being good every time. Things have definitely changed but the food itself was good. Burgers are good size & they give plenty of fries. Good amount of seating & the cashier was friendly. My only "complaint" was their soft drink choice. They only offer organic soda & they few flavors I tried I was not a fan of. Had I known prior, I wouldn't have paid for the combo & would have gotten fries only instead. Location is nice because it is located right downtown & within walking distance of shops. Locally owned, locally sourced food. The burgers and fries are large so be hungry when you arrive. This is a cook when you order place so if you want fast food, go elsewhere and don't complain!! The burgers are delicious. The fries are hand made and cooked when you order them. I don't know what is in their fry sauce but it's a notch above others. They also offer gluten free buns or a lettuce wrap. This is a favorite spot. Rant ahead-Like many other places right now, they are understaffed so be kind. Be adults. Overall, these are kids working and doing their best. Treat them with kindness and grace. I can't believe the way "adults" are acting in almost every restaurant I go in anymore. Great place to grab a burger! Great offering of a variety of burger choices and sides. The burger was absolutely delicious but the customer service was below average. They did forget our drinks and we had to remind them several times to get them. Something simple as ordering a coke and not giving it to you right away and then forgetting to bring it to your table 10 feet away. They need to dial in the service a bit but other than that it's a great place for lunch! I hate giving bad reviews but don't waste your money here. I don't blame the kids making the food. They just weren't trained how to make decent food. We've all had jobs when we were very young and if you didn't have the right training, you sucked at it. Totally not your fault. Every time I eat here it's disappointing. I love a good burger and fries. The burger is dry and flavorless with added burnt seasoning from the grill. Not a good combo. Plus every time I ask for cheddar instead of American cheese they don't do it. Gross. It always takes a long time to be served and the size is mediocre. Fries are good size, and pretty tasty when immediately served but if you don't eat within exactly 3 min, they become stale and hard as rock. Weird... freezer issue? Not impressed at all. I took my daughter here for Lunch on 6/7/19 and we both got the Fun Guy a large fry to share and my daughter got the Oreo shake. Overall the place is cute and has a ton of potential. The staff was okay not very friendly but not rude either there were a couple of mistakes made when taking our order but the cashier was new so I won't count that against them. Wait times are longer then I would have thought. We had a pretty long wait before we got our food and there were only a couple of people ahead of us. I was not impressed with the burgers. Patties are on the smaller side. Both burgers were overcooked it was like a piece of cardboard between two buns. They kept using the burger presses though draining out any sort of flavor and juices. The greens were soggy and it was probably one of the worst burgers I have ever gotten in a while. It has potential to be a great burger all of the flavors were there it was just an overcooked soggy mess. For a $10 burger, I would have expected way better. The fries were soggy and greasy which is so sad because I love fresh cut fries a large fry will run you $5 which is okay. The Oreo shake was very small for the $6.50 price tag and we were so disappointed and it wasn't very good. You can go to other local ice cream places spend way less and get a great shake and service with a smile. Price wise for two people we paid $37 for overcooked burgers soggy fries a bad shake and lemonade which was the best part. I am so bummed that this place isn't better we will not be returning. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, My husband wanted to go this weekend and instead we will be going to one of the other little burger places in town because they are a better value and the food is much better. read more

Came here on Memorial Day. Ordered a popper medium rare. Looks like the patties are 5oz. It came well done so I sent it back and it was still well done. I expected better cheese it tasted like craft singles. For a 10.50 burger the Taste was just ok nothing special. The bacon was floppy and way undercooked. I sat directly behind the grille at the bar and watched how they were being made. Keeping on smashing the flavor out of it was mind boggling. The fries were soggy too. There are a lot of places to get burgers around here. This place is awesome awesome awesome. Unique burgers that taste terrific. I am not a vegetarian but I love the portobello burger.( I only kinda wish there was a chicken option but it's such good food it's ok!) I get peanut butter& put a touch of hot sauce on it instead of the usual sauce-they have a burger with peanut butter that is amazing and why I decided to try on the portobello. Sounds a bit odd but it's great. The fries are super delicious and hand cut. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is so clean and fresh. The chef is also the cleanest I have ever seen. Actually changes gloves before touching something different every single time. And washes his hands constantly! It's fantastic to see that especially nowadays. Everything is always cooked perfectly. A good experience all around. I visit often as my parents are locals. After over 20 years coming out I know what's good around Sandpoint. Burger Dock is great.Try sitting on the patio overlooking the lake on a nice day. It's beautiful scenery and delicious food.
