The first employee we worked with was particularly friendly. When we were clearly a bit confused about what we wanted or had in mind, he was happy to show us some of the options - and quite patient as well. He was very honest about their options - pointing out the various differences and why you'd want to splurge for various things. After he passed us to another employee for the fitting and sizing, the new employee was just as friendly. She seemed particularly knowledgeable about men's fashion - including how to tell if a jacket or shirt is particularly well-fitting. She offered brand options to help with fit, and she went out of her way to call up to corporate to a get rush on a preliminary suit for fitting purposes. The earlier employee had also misquoted us a price, but she was happy to give us the item for the price because it was their error. She was very friendly, made the process feel particularly smooth (even though it took about an hour), and was clearly knowledgeable about everything they sell. As a sidenote, Men's Warehouse does make it pretty easy to use them for tux rental. You can pick up or return the clothing to any of their Men's Warehouse locations.

This is a newer Maurices location right near the Target over near this new shopping district. It's…read morea pretty large store, and it offers a shoe area, multiple dressing rooms, a plus-sized area, and a regularly-sized area. It's bigger than most mall Maurice locations that I've seen. Maurices sizing goes from a size 0 all the way up to a size 24. Their plus-sized selection is smaller (about 1/4 of the store) compared to the regular sizes, but it's still quite a bit of clothing. Staff is really what makes this store. Staff is helpful without being pushy. They happily will open a fitting room for you, and they occasionally will check in and ask if they can help you find items. Lots of other people were taking advantage of that, and staff was helping them put together great outfits by making suggestions. They are really good about regularly using your name and making you feel like a valued customer. I was looking for a scarf in a different color, and the staff was really helpful. They looked it up on their own system, double-checked throughout the whole store when the system said they didn't have it, and then offered to call down to the Waterloo location and see if they had one for me. The entire experience was very friendly, and I always got the feeling that the staff genuinely was having an okay time working there and wanted to help. Price can be a bit high depending on the items. I'd recommend trying to take advantage of their sales; they regularly have discounts or "Buy One, Get One ___" sales which help lower the prices. They also offer a free rewards program that gives you a $5 credit for every $100 you spend, so that will you save a bit more money. Finding specific items can be a bit difficult, though, so you may need to ask for help. For example, their scarves are placed in multiple areas throughout the entire store, so it can make it hard to compare all scarves at once. However, with such helpful staff, it really isn't too hard to eventually find what you're looking for. Maurices has nice clothing, but what really makes this store is the staff. This is probably one of the best customer service experiences that I've had in awhile.

Thank you for not forgetting the big girls! They have plenty of selection in casual and dressy options. You're supporting small business here as it's a Unionized shop and store, primarily from domestic suppliers, and a member of the Fair Labor Association. If I remember correctly, they primarily screen print from Des Moines, right here in Iowa. If you really want to know about all this nerdery, they actually have their exact suppliers and how they've certified and chosen them on their "About Us" on their website. Despite that, none of the prices are really all that high. I've bought way more expensive clothing from the mall. I love being in here, and I love their sense of humor on their products. They have their store as organized as it possibly could be with (unlabeled but clearly grouped) sections for things like teachers, readers, LGBTQA+, Midwest pride, pink pony vibes, Taylor Swift vibes, etc. Raygun primarily has t-shirts, magnets, stickers, post cards, mugs, and other home items to help showcase your interest or support of any of those things. Sometimes I wish it had a bigger selection of what they print on because it's hard to bring another t-shirt or mug back home when I already have so many. It's connected to the Books on Main in the back of the store, but they ask you don't bring merchandise between the two locations. No bathrooms available here.

Raygun is an Iowa staple and even if you're not from here, you will get the appeal. There's something for everyone and Raygun is not afraid to take a politcal stance with their shirts. I usually buy something here every time I visit. This time it was a Halloween shirt: Hocus Pocus and Chill! The shirts are original designs and nothing is outrageously priced. Really great selection. Cashiers are always happy! Don't forget to check out their cards, too.
