I looked into the window though and saw so many unique clothing pieces and decided to pop in! This clothing boutique is definitely filled to the brim with gorgeous and cute everyday to more business/formal wear kind of clothing in addition to wigs and other hair accessories. 75% of the store is clothing though with the back 25% past the fitting rooms reserved for hair goodies. There were so many wonderful pieces that I tried on here. Unfortunately, their sizing only goes up to XL and sometimes only L and I'm right at the edge of that, so some pieces fit, while many I wanted to try on I needed just another size up. Customer service was so lovely. The woman who was running the shop was shuttling clothes that I had pulled off the rack into my fitting room throughout my shop and was just so friendly and exuberant, while also giving me the space to shop and peruse at my own pace. I ended up getting a staple kind of black/gray denim button up shirt that will be great for the fall and spring weather and for layering throughout the colder months! I also got two sweaters that had a fun corgi print on them to gift to my corgi-loving friends! The pricing was reasonable here compared to what I normally associate with boutiques as well (these sweaters/denim jackets all averaged in the $40-50 range), so I really appreciated that. You'll get coupons when you make purchases here as well, so make sure to do that! Really loved this spot!

The jewelry is a lot of fun, and they also carry OPI nail polish. I was able to buy Golden Girls earrings...how awesome is that? Staff is super friendly. They also have wigs and extension available. I go to Charity, who has a chair in the back of the store. She does an awesome job on hair, and shes a delight to talk to. Whenever I go get my hair done I come a little early so I can shop at LBL. :)

Yonkers is blah but Von Maur has always been the Iowan equivalent of Nordstrom's: pricy, quality, a little intimidating. I found I quite enjoyed it last time I was there. I've definitely aged enough to appreciate though its in the crap mall it still has a piano player, church lady hats, and some really nice items. The lingerie section was superb, as was the accessories, shoes and make up. The clothes are a little ugly and out of touch, but it has enough redeemable qualities I can see myself shopping here frequently. Now if only it was in Crossroads instead...

Nice dresses were $15 to $25. Pants were in the $15 range. Definitely affordable. Some modern clothing/decor, but there's a noticeable amount of basics/classic-style stuff too. (Plain black pants, plain jeans, plain white bins, etc.) Store has purses, men's, children's, women's, plus clothing. Blankets and rugs. Bedding. Bathroom decor. Wall decor. Children's toys. Workout gear. Fragrances. Furniture including chairs/ottomans. Laundry room supplies. Lots of one-copy items - especially in the decor section. TJ Maxx tends to have a couple copies of each home decor item, but here at Ross, it's mostly a single-copy item in both the clothing and the decor sections. Everything was a nightmare of mess when I came, though. I'm not holding it against them as their parking lot was full and I'm sure they're still dealing with the novelty of being new. Noticeably long line waiting to check-out. Again, possibly due to the grand opening. Walked by a lot of staff and was never greeted. Again, possibly staff is just stressed with the extra-busy days. Lots of shelves were empty, but again, grand opening. I'll likely re-review when Ross has been around for awhile and the novelty has worn off. Every Tuesday is 10% off for people 55 and older.

Had a very good experience at kohls tonight. It was tax free weekend and I was dreading shopping…read morebecause I thought it would be mayhem. Kohls had planned and organized well. They had plenty of staff on hand. And for 8 pm at night the store displays looked nice and organized. I was offered help several times. I ended up getting all my kids school clothes. Two pairs of shoes for each kid, underwear, socks, jeans, sweatshirts, pajamas and even a disco light. I had two carts full. Was scared the girl at the register would groan with disgust at all my stuff but she was chipper and enjoyed the challenge. Another employee came over and even helped bag. Another employee went and did a sku check when a shirt was missing a tag. I spent $1100 and had a coupon and a 20% off coupon. So my total was $870. I got $170 in kohls cash to spend next time. The service was there tonight and the employees were in good spirit.

Very friendly owner, and she collects/redesigns/repaints the items herself. Definitely lots of cute stuff here. Directions and Hours: This store is ONLY OPEN the first Thursday through Saturday of every month. The first day needs to fall before the Thursday of that week. (For example, if April started on Friday, the store wouldn't be open until the proceeding week. If April started on Monday, it would be open that week). The store is located BEHIND Simpson's Furniture on Main Street. It's a bit tricky to find, but you'll end up seeing a tiny sign on the property. Turn onto E 23rd street, and even when it turns into gravel, KEEP GOING. Go until the gravel "ends" then turn right. You'll quickly see Hatchlings and Hen's signage. The store itself is down the driveway. Long Version: This is a neat, home-run type of store. As far as I can tell, it seems to be a small shop in a workshop. The directions above will help you find it. The area feels like shopping a garage sale - but in a cute and fun type of way. No bathrooms or anything because of that. Hatchlings and Hens sells a variety of neat, repurposed and vintage-esque type of items. It looks like a lot of items were repainted or cleaned up in order to be sold, and the owner does a surprising job of finding fantastic sets. For example, there was a kitchen table with a matching 4 chairs available for purchase (only $175 for the set! I would have bought it if I needed a kitchen set). There were also other sets like matching bird decor or awesome wall art. There was some industrial-type of furniture and whatnot too - as well as industrial salvage that might help you out if you were looking to do some DIY for yourself. I didn't end up purchasing anything today, but I plan on coming back in the future. The owner was super friendly, and I really did fall in love with a coupe things that I can't quite think of a place for at the moment. I'm looking forward to seeing how the stock and everything changes from month-to-month.
