My experience with Bryn Mawr Apartments, or better yet Holsten Management was due to being interested in their apartments, plus staying in the Edgewater area, which is where I currently reside. The price of their apartments; amenities, and being able to stay in the first neighborhood that I moved to prior to moving here from Hawaii are what prompted me to apply here.
I have actually dealt with Holsten for two weeks, which stemmed from me not wanting to deal with the lengthy application process. I figured that I would give it a shot, and go through their lengthy process, which consisted of me giving a copy of vital documents; employment information: pay stubs, contacts; and even bank information, which they needed 6 months of statements from each bank I was involved with. Never dealt with such a lengthy process to apply for an apartment, and I compare it to applying for an actual job because I even had to take a urinalysis, which I do understand the point for that, but never had to do it for an apartment.
If you are interested in an apartment at Bryn Mawr Apartments, the qualifications are strict, but I'm sure there are reasons for it. The process is lengthy, but it will go smoother if you have at least your vital documents; employment information; bank information, and being urinalysis ready the day you meet with Holsten because it will cut down on the follow-ups, and allow them to start your application sooner. You will not be able to knock everything out during the initial appointment because it is a lot, but just keep calm, and realize that there is a deep down reason for the deep screening even though it will seem draining.
I get the feeling that I will not deal with living in an unsafe environment at Bryn Mawr Apartments due to the lengthy screening, which is good because that is hard to find in Chicago, plus the apartment building is well kept, and very well secured.
