The yards are well kept and they have a fitness area and clubhouse which I posted photos in other reviews. There are 6 tennis courts and 2 pickle ball courts. They have a tennis coach for the people who live there. In the club house they have a billiard table, ping pong table, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and splash area. The other people seemed friendly. Probably it would depend on what they tell you the monthly maintenance fees are in order to determine how worth while it would be.

Their website updates on Tuesdays at 5pm for new appointments: https://www.boynton-beach.org/news/covid I made my appointment online and received a confirmation email with a link to cancel or reschedule if needed. They provided a link to a form I could fill out ahead of time and bring with me. I was actually able to make an appointment for my husband for the exact same time slot, which was incredible convenient. Instructions were very clear: arrive no earlier than 15 minutes. 2 Police officers blocked the entrance and took our names, and directed us to park in what seemed like the back of the building. It was not immediately clear where we were supposed to go after that, since we were in the back, but since the only oher people who had been admitted were also getting the vaccine, we just followed other people to find a socially distanced line snaking around the building next to a chain link fence. Another police officer checked for the appointment times, more people took our form and looked at our id and told us when our 2nd shot would be. We followed the line into the building where we got a small white vaccination card. Firefighters gave us the first Moderna shot. A swift process! We were then told to write our own names on the card and take a photo so we'd have a copy of it. We then sat in a boring, blank room with paced out metal folding chairs while we waited too see if we had any reactions. It was very quiet in there. This was bare bones service with little info about what to note about reactions afterwards (and no actual checking of this). All in all, I appreciate the massive staffing efforts here to vaccinate multiple people in 15 minute time slots. They have an efficient, well-run machine of a system going on here. We did not have to wait for anything and the instructions given ahead of time were very clear. Thanks, City of Boynton Beach and all the folks who staffed this Center!

The Lake Charleston Park and Recreation center is next to Manatee Elementary School. The 9.5 acres and is open from sunrise until 10 PM. Park amenities include three picnic tables, a small playground made from recycled materials, restroom, and four lighted softball fields. While the park itself is a public facility, it is closely associated with the Lake Charleston community. Lake Charleston Park is an inviting destination for those seeking outdoor recreation in the Lake Worth area. Whether you're interested in sports, nature walks, or simply enjoying a peaceful picnic, the park offers a welcoming environment for all.

I took my children here recently to try out some new playgrounds while in the area. Two playgrounds…read moresit next to and behind this community's rec center and pool area. Parking is ample, free and shaded. The first playground is designed for smaller children and is designed as a sailboat. A small rock wall, pretend boat helm and two-tiered design appealed to both of my kids (1 and 3). A tiny 'hill' beyond this is the playground for older kids. There were a couple of cool features on the lower levels. Both playgrounds are connected by a sidewalk that continues on in a few different directions - around a lake and through tennis courts. Across from the sidewalks are large fields that I assume are used for soccer, due to the goals. My kids ran around in the mid-length grass/weeds trying to catch dragonflies. The field is very far from the road so it was nice for them to run around without needing to worry. We spotted different kinds of birds and a family of ducks far away. We did walk through the courts (2 tennis and 1 basketball, at least) to another part of a water body (Lake Charleston? No clue!). I was pretty nervous about alligators being that close to the water. We came to a tiny dock that was so covered in bird poop that it was uninhabitable. I didn't see any signs about alligators, but I don't think I'd walk my kids around that part again without a stroller. I'm not sure if it was just a windy day, but these are kind of 'waterfront' playgrounds and definitely received nice breezes. They were also shady with benches and altogether pleasant. Although not fenced, the far proximity from roads is nice and feels protected. The bathrooms are located outside but on the other side of the rec center (not near the playgrounds). They were remarkably nice and clean. We only encountered one other young child here briefly. Otherwise, when I arrived, the smaller playground was being used by a fitness class (for adults), and the larger one was being used by 3 teenagers.

I was impressed that the entire park is fenced in which I am sure is a relief for parents with young children. There are quite a few amenities in this welcoming neighborhood park. These include a shade covered, ADA accessible playground, barbecue grills, basketball court, benches, pavilions, picnic tables, a sand volleyball court, and paved walkways. Overall Lakewood Gardens Park is a pleasant and accessible neighborhood park that offers locals a place for casual outings, picnics, active play, and relaxed afternoons. This open park feels clean and safe.

My grandparents were longtime members of this grand club, and my mother and my aunts grew up as members of this club. I got to watch a Cape Kennedy rocket launch from the club patio when I was a child. I remember Andre, the club's General Manger, who warmly and kindly greeted my grandparents at the club. This wonderful club represents the best of Florida's culture and class. I hope that I can visit this club again one day. I am from Chicago. My grandparents retired from Illinois to Gulf Stream, and joined several south Florida clubs. Hidden Lakes is a small 1.4 acre neighborhood park. I discovered it while doing some shopping in the area and I am always looking for somewhere new to walk for exercise. Park amenities include benches, a foot ball field, pavilions, picnic tables, playground with climbing structures and a small slide, water fountain, and tennis courts. On the day I visited a party was being set up in the gazebo. Unfortunately the park didn't have any kind of walking trail. This park is best suited for people who live in the neighborhood since there are no restroom facilities. It is also quite small and limited. There aren't many parks in this area of Boca Raton so despite it's small size it is still a good resource for play and exercise for the Hidden Lakes neighborhood.

Located in the Tropical Ridge neighborhood of Lake Worth, this small fitness park opened On…read moreNovember 14, 2012. It was designed to provide free exercise equipment to help Palm Beach residents fight obesity. The Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency partnered with the Quantum Foundation, Wells Fargo, the Palm Healthcare Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to install $65,000 worth of outdoor exercise equipment. The nine fitness machines were made by Greenfields Outdoor Fitness. In the park you will find chin-up bars, a cross-country ski machine, an elliptical walker and a chest press. The exercise machines are designed to use the body's weight for resistance so you don't have to worry about adding weights. The equipment has now been here for eight years so it's looking a little worn but it still works. The machines were designed for those fourteen years and older and the CRA added a playground for younger kids while their parents exercise. On the day I visited the kids were more attracted to the fitness equipment than the playground designed for them. This equipment was closed for Covid but it is now open again to their delight. One thing I didn't understand is that half of a large banyan tree in the park is painted blue. I don't know why they defaced a beautiful tree like that. Aside from that, this is a great free space for the community to exercise.
