My two female friends and I attended a beginner tennis lesson with Glenn Muller. During the lesson, he made sexist and inappropriate comments. For example, he said, "Women don't listen" and "You are hitting like a girl." He then went into a metaphor about how he was the lion and we were the lionesses. He talked about how the lionesses go out and hunt and bring the food back to the lion. He kept saying how we needed to listen to the lion. He then stated, and I am quoting his exact words, "The lion can have sex with all of the lionesses, but the lioness can only have sex with one lion." I interrupted him before he could continue, and I was genuinely scared to know what he would have said if I had not interjected. I said "Please stop with the sexual comments. They are making me uncomfortable." He then told me that I do not get to tell him what he can and cannot say during his tennis lessons and that he "didn't make it up about the lions. It is just designed by God that way." I should have walked out of the lesson. Later, he said, "I was going to play this game, but I don't want to offend anyone," while looking directly at me. He told me during a previous lesson that another woman had said that he was touching her too much and that she felt uncomfortable. The way he told the story was very dismissive, as if the woman had overreacted. That should have been a red flag for me not to return. This experience has deterred my friends and me from taking classes with other coaches at this complex. It is concerning that the complex employs coaches like Glenn Muller. I am hesitant to return to the complex because I would be repulsed to run into him again. It is very clear that Glenn Muller should not continue as a tennis instructor, especially for women and young girls. His sexist comments, sexual metaphors, and degrading attitude should not be tolerated. read more

We're fortunate to have such a fantastic tennis center right here in Delray Beach. Most of the year, it's a place where you can simply book a court by the hour and play -- I've done it myself, and the experience is excellent. But the real highlight of this facility is when it transforms into a stage for top-tier tournaments. Each year it hosts the Delray Open, where you can catch some of the biggest names in the sport. The stadium is a gem -- intimate and well-designed, so you're close to the action, unlike the massive venues at events like the US Open. I recently attended the Davis Cup matches here and saw some incredible tennis, including Taylor Fritz (World #5) and Jakub Mensik (World #17, and only 20 years old). If you enjoy tennis, it's fun to play here anytime -- but it's truly special when they host a tournament. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

This is the massive Delray Beach Tennis Center that at one time, hosted tennis opens and I remember that it was at one point sponsored by the Citrix company. Massive nationwide tennis tournaments. On this Saturday morning, several of the courts were in use for private matches or for lessons. The folks in the pro shop didn't mind letting me in for a wander around and I enjoyed exploring. This is massive and designed for huge crowds though the parking might be a challenge. The folks I encountered were polite and helpful and welcoming. People seemed to be having a good time. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Delray Beach Tennis Complex, a beloved landmark located on Atlantic Blvd near downtown Delray Beach. The history of this tennis center dates back to the 1970's when Harry Hart and a group of local tennis enthusiasts decided to build a tennis facility in Delray Beach. The Delray Beach Tennis Center officially opened in 1974 with eight green clay courts. It was an immediate success and it began hosting tournaments for local players. As demand grew the center underwent several expansions including one in 1992 that increased seating capacity to 8,200 spectators which allowed the center to host professional tournaments. In 1999 the center became the host venue for the annual Delray Beach Open bringing top players from the world and attracting national attention. This event is still popular today and it is just one of the reasons the Delray Beach Tennis Center is a top tier tennis facility. Today the Delray Beach Tennis Center continues to stoke a passion for tennis in the community as it has become a renowned destination for amateurs and professionals alike. The Delray Beach Tennis Center hosts local tournaments and international events. The Junior Tennis Academy provides tennis instruction for all age levels through tennis clinics, introductory programs, group lessons, private coaching, and camps. The center hosts many junior tournaments and competitions throughout the year. Lessons emphasize fun while promoting physical activities as children are nurtured to develop a life long for the support. Many famous athletes have emerged from the Junior Tennis Academy. Serena and Venus Williams spent countless hours here before Serena went on to win three Grand Slams. More recently rising tennis star Coco Gauff has emerged from the academy to became just the third American teenager, the youngest since Serena Williams to win the 2023 US Open and the 2024 French Open. In a few days she will be making her Olympic debut. Gauff was just selected by her teammates to be the female flagbearer for the United States at the Paris Olympic opening ceremony! The Delray Beach Tennis Center also has an upstairs pavilion and conference room, pro shop with locker rooms, racquet stringing and merchandise. It offers adult programs, tennis lessons, and clinics for all levels. Adults can participate in adult leagues and tournaments. Fourteen clay tennis courts, four hard courts, and eight pickleball courts are available for open play and court rentals. Competitive leagues and recreational play keep adults active, improve their game, and help them to connect with other tennis enthusiasts. read more

I will never come here again. This club is so unwelcoming and they don't care. I attended drop in pickleball and no one would mix in. There's the line of paddles to organize who is up next and there were people who would move my paddle out of line or skip mine to avoid playing together even though we had never ever played together. I couldn't get one game in. I've never had an experience like this anywhere else. I went back to the pro shop and spoke with the person there and they couldn't care less that the open pickleball was functioning as if people reserved courts just for them. What a terrible community here and disgraceful behavior read more

Jose is the best for lessons! Makes it so fun and really works hard to fix what you ask his help with!

I went there for the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic. I always love this venue b/c it is small and we are lucky to have it in our backyard. There were many different kinds of food and drink vendors (we got a lemonade slush and a diet coke) as well as a small animal area. You could get a bite from Ruth Chris' as well. Its very hot usually so we ended up moving our seats and sitting in the shade. This tournament is more like just a goofy thing to raise money for charity. It was a beautiful day so its always fun to go read more

They are happy to take your money for classes but favor the better players. Treat others poorly so the turnover for the clinics is constant. The same feedback time after time and they just do not care. If they forget to put your name on list when you sign up it's "oh well...you cannot play today" with no apology or discussionVery disappointing for so many consistent, loyal players who get treated like dirt. Some of us have this as our only outlet during such difficult times, and are forced to look elsewhere. I suggest you be grateful for those who are loyal and show some respect. Practice kindness. read more

Very arrogant group of 12 players took an Uber $25 each way paid $5 to play 5 games. Rude people who play set games with their friends not following the rules of who is next in line to play. Never going again. read more

I can honestly say I've never paid to play on a tennis court. I've always found a high school or public park that had one, and gone from there. So, when the bf and I wanted to play a match while on vacation in Delray Beach, we found ourselves at a loss. The only option: the Delray Beach Tennis Center. The current rate was $10/person for 1.5 hours which, for a person not used to paying, that was a hefty sum ($20 just to get my butt kicked!). And that's about it for my complaints. The good stuff: The staff member was very friendly, letting us know that the court wasn't scheduled for use after us (ie. if you go over time, no one's going to hunt you down, so play away); the facility is very professional, the courts up-to-date and well-kept. And you can't help but feel like a pro walking past the center court in all its glory. read more

Played My first APT- TRY OUT here. It's litterally in the heart of downtown. One block away from high end shopping and Restaurants. About half mile away from the beach. Rich tennis community there. People are well informed and excited for the events held. All courts are of the of the highest quality.( Clay and Hard) Staff is on top of draws and keep the game flow up. Cutting back on wait times. Which is exactly what I look for as a player.I Couldn't think of a better place to play tennis when in Boca. read more

Well, I haven't done any clinics with this people so I can't complaint about that, the only relation I have with them is for them to do my strings in my racquets, I have been their client for about 5 months already and it was going everything ok, however just in the past month both of my racquets strings went bad in about 1 week and just today we brought both racquets for them to fix it and make sure it won't happen again. Well we expected them to do their job correct and put us the client in first place, but that's not what happened. At first the laddie on the front desk said they wouldn't fix the strings, we told her there is not enough time used on the racquets to go bad this way, and they should take this in consideration, we just did both of them, so she agreed to hold the racquets to show to their "Proffessional" to see if he could do again his SHITTY job and try to make it better than before, after all, this disagreement shouldn't happen at first place. Well, we just received a call from the "Professional racquet sringer" saying that they won't fix my racquets because I overplay with them... W T F??? he said I played too hard and I shouldn't do this, and they will charge full price for the two racquets. What?? so they can't do their job right, and when you complaint is your fault? I had other problems with their string before but this last one just made impossible to keep playing, and his argument saying that I overplay with the racquet what the hell does this mean? That I forced too much with it? well I play tennis for 6 months, racquets are a Babolat Y 109 and a Head YouTek Extreme Pro, both of the racquets are at least for average players, maybe I became a Professional already and I don't need to use your FUCKING SHIT of strings, you people are useless, and I am definitely not coming back there, if you want to string your racquet with them, think again because if you have a small of a problem, they won't hesitate to charge you again, bunch of scams, what a shame, what a shame. read more

Delray Beach Tennis is a great public facility with Clay & Hard Courts with lights. Location is why I give this facility 5 stars walking distance to Atlantic Ave & the Beach. Jeff Kantor teaching pro 5 stars just one of the many nicest teaching pros there. Cardio Day & Night drills 4 stars I will update to 5 stars if they add music to their cardio drills =) You can find all levels at this facility. Parking is 3 stars This public facility has dressing room; lockers & showers 2 stars because of the humidity in the bathroom feels like you never took a shower! 1 star for the local panhandlers. I have been approached several times in the parking lot each time they are very friendly but I rather not feel guilty that I do not have change to give each time I go to this facility which is multiple times weekly. They have membership available but you still have to pay for court lights & and all drills range from $12mixers-$25cardio drills...so really just a small benefit if you prepay for their "membership" Lots of programs for Children!! Over All you will have a great time at Delray Beach Tennis facility. read more
