They arrived artistically mounted with room for a plaque and they are the perfect gift!! "They" are a pair of tennis shoes, once worn by a dear friend who is a professional tennis player. I can't wait to give them to her and see the smile on her face. She has no idea that I saved these years ago when she was winning titles on the tour. I found The Bronzery online while searching for a company to bronze a shoe. Their display of bronzings and gold platings was so awesome I knew I had to go to them. I opted for gold plating a track shoe, sent it to them and they sent it back once completed. The product I got from The Bronzery was spectacular. In fact, the only thing that prevents me from giving it a 5 star is the time it took. The time wouldn't have been so bad except I thought the communication could've been better. Still, with those drawbacks I'd rather give The Bronzery a 4.5 rating because I was that pleased with the final product. I was so pleased I conjured up another project to have them do just because. It actually ended up being a fantastic project (I had them bronze castings of my kids' hands). They bronzed the castings and mounted them to a nice wooden base when I thought that the mounting wouldn't be possible (because of how fragile the castings were). While the bronzing process of the three pairs of baby shoes came out well, for the price point ($220 per pair, with 10% discount, bookend mounted) the final bookend looked frankly, cheaply done. The nameplate was crooked and obscured by the baby boot and not in the position as pictured on the website. I was initially advised to pry off the name plate and reposition the little sticky piece myself. I opted not to, and sent it back for them to do it correctly. I was quite surprised at the subpar quality of a stick/on label as opposed to a riveted plate that would have at least shown some level of craftsmanship and attention to a higher end detail for the higher end cost. Whoa, The Bronzery has a pretty cool service that I seriously did not know EVEN EXISTED. My sister recently got married and gave her guests these little red paper boxes with chocolates in them. Customer service and website info is terrible. The finished product is fine but understand that you will not know about the $20 ship & handling fee until you pay for it. It is a lot considering you are paying $53 per baby shoe for bronze - anything else is double. And no mention of the $20 can be found on the site. Also, I think they have limited working hours and I had to do most of my correspondence through emails. If your office is paying for it, great. If you are paying for it - there may be cheaper options easier to order from. After I ordered I found a place that was cheaper for 2 baby shoes, no tax (OR) and $16 shipping. read more

I made the mistake of criticizing the order process so my order was cancelled and now I can not get our third generation on baby shoes bronzed.
