By far the best pub in narberth. Its totally honest, and acceptant of everyone. Theres no looks as…read moreyou walk in, and you soon feel right at home. Its mainly full of locals, of all ages, and styles. The landlord is fairly young and easy to get on with. Its trade mark were the walls ata one half were covered in posters, these were great as they really tell stories, what films were out at the time etc. The jukebox is fantastic, all the cd's are amazing, with something for everyone, but all to get you going. There is a pool table, and must be the cheapest in the land, at only 20p still!!!! there is an outdoor area with heaters since the smoking ban, and a little corner cocktail bar which is usual in use during the summer parties! its a great place that has live bands from time to time, with dj sets and private parties for birthdays etc. the halloween parties are something to remember for sure also! it also has a new but retro table top space invaders game!!! brilliant! They always have a couple of guest ales on and soon as i walk one is poured, if the landlord is on that is! great pub!!

It had a bit of a facelift recently and had a new bar fitted and the toilets were upgraded. But basically it is the same pub with the famous posters on the walls. The place is buzzing on carnival nights in both the summer and winter. The pool table is always popular because it is so cheap! There are occasional DJ nights when a local DJ plays a few sets. There are outside heaters and a canopy for the smokers and an outside cocktail bar which is used occasionally in the warmer months.

The Ferry Inn - Dark Cherry & Marzipan Bake with Vanilla Ice Cream (Vegan with Dairy Free Vanilla Ice Cream) £7.50

    The Ferry Inn

The Ferry Inn is a very popular gastropub in an enviable position on the River Teifi. (The views…read moreare fantastic.) It has a cosy bar area, three inside eating areas with river views, two outside eating areas and a terrace to really enjoy the view. They are happy to accommodate diners with dogs (there are also dog-free areas) and it's very child-friendly (there's a children's menu, and some tables seat eight). The menu offers starters at £7.50-£7.95, mains around £18 (except fish and seafood at £24 and steak at £29), desserts at £7.50, as well as a choice of ice creams and sorbets (£3.50-£7.50). They offer a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. We chose Sea Bass served with Lemon Parsley Caper Butter, Herb Roasted New Potatoes, Garden Salad with Buckwheat & Broad Beans with Honey Mustard Sauce & New Leaf Microgreens (£24); and the one of the vegetarian options: Glamorgan Crumble a tower of Leeks, Carrot, Breadcrumbs & Mature Cheddar Cheese, Garlic & Herb Roasted New Potatoes, Glebelands Salad, Quinoa, Bean, Vegetable Salad & Fresh Herb White Sauce (£19.95). We followed this with Dark Cherry & Marzipan Bake Vanilla Ice Cream £7.50. Overall, the food was very good, except that the seabass was (disappointingly) over done and therefore falling apart. I always think it's a little odd serving a cold side salad on the side (or in my case underneath) a hot dish, although overall the flavours did work well together. The Glamorgan Crumble was very tasty. Service was a little manic: some staff seemed to run around all evening, and we were served by four different people during the evening. (One was very nice, two were a bit brusque.) They were busy, but we had booked (and were expecting) a table in the downstairs area with a river view, but were shown to a different part of the restaurant area. There were, however, a number of reserved tables which remained empty through the evening, so it seems like they had a few no-shows. Overall we had a nice evening: with two glasses of wine, the bill came to £75 for two, excluding service. It's firmly worth four stars, and of course you're paying for the location, but at these prices, getting the fish right and calmer service would land a five.

Old Chemist Inn - The Old Chemist's Patio

    Old Chemist Inn

Wouldn't you just love to live in a village where one of the few local pubs is right next door? I…read moreknow I would. Well, my other half's parents do. Adjacent to their beach house is a quaint, quirky and very lovely little pub that everyone refers to as 'The Chemist'. It's exceptionally handy if you live on The Strand as you can pretty much just stagger home after a few, but it also boasts a smoking area at the back with decking, patio heaters and a super beach view as the Strand is in fact the closest street to the sand. What the Chemist might lack in drinks variety (particularly if you're not an ale drinker), it makes up for in atmosphere. You'll find older gents who obviously come here every night, propping up the bar and bending the ears of the staff while supping their half bitter. You'll find glammed up dollybirds having a swift one before exiting into Tenby. And you'll find walkers who've just done the trek to Wisemann's Bridge and come back to reward themselves with a cheeky drink. Occasionally the owners will put out free food to nibble on, like sausages for example, which they did while I was there last. It's friendly and welcoming, and somehow manages to feel closed and cosy in the winter yet airy and light in the summer. The decorations are fab too and you'll find yourself chortling away at numerous humorous signs dotted about the place. This is one of those bars where everyone probably will know your name if you've been a few times. If it's crowded it can get a little claustrophobic, but don't let that put you off as the ambience will soon see you right.

Great selection of beer and good bar service. The restaurant food is decent enough as well…read more Stopped in a couple of afternoons and evenings during the holiday season and enjoyed a few good performances out back on the patio which were a real treat.
