The servers were super nice and kind, the best part of the visit. They suggested the halloumi appetizer which was marvelous. The chili dip with the app and beers was tangy and complementing the cheese. The servers also helped us pick out the best London beer. Came here for lunch after visiting the tower bridge. We sat upstairs and it was very cold so not the most comfortable situation. We ordered some drinks and the service was prompt. For lunch we had the fish and chips and the guiness bangers and mash. I would say the bangers and mash were pretty decent. The fish and chips were a little greasy and the fries were not as good as some other spots in london. The dining options around the area were minimal so if you need a bite come by. This is where we had our last meal, which I wanted to be kinda special. Not fish in chips in a paper cone special that you eat walking down the street, but sit down in a pub with an option of bangers and mash kinda special. We walked in and a handsome fella helped us through the menu, and gave us advice on foods. I got the bangers and sister got the burger with bleu crumbles. Both of our food choices were perfect, and I was a little sad that the last meal was where I found the perfect gravy. Maybe I was shooting for the stars assuming that every place would serve a proper gravy with the mash, but no, it was very hard to find. So, it was appropriate that it was served well here, in a homey pub, with a handsome fella, and nice beer and wine choices. Sadly, the dessert special was out, but we were too full anyways. This pub used to be named 'The Elusive Camel' and so they have definitely opted for something a little more modern and sleek in the pub's revamp! The name is as it suggests - it has a real loungy feel with big sofas and a cosy but quaint atmosphere. Despite thinking that the prices would have increased, they have actually maintained that local pub vibe by offering great menu deals - you can get traditional British dishes such as sausage and mash for £5 on a Monday night! The other meals on the menu are fantastic and as you would expect from a London pub - burgers, pies etc...but the quality is definitely above average. The burgers are huge! The price of alcohol is also very reasonable so it makes for a cheap night in a cool bar. If you venture into the upstairs bar, you will see a beautiful view of Tower Bridge and the Thames. It is lovely to relax here with a large glass of wine after work as it isn't too busy as is such with some of the Borough Market pubs, but still has a buzzy atmosphere. read more

I'm not one (generally) to use the term nice, but there are occasions when the stars align and the word fits. The Bridge Lounge is one of the nicest pubs in London. A short walk from London Bridge Station down Tooley Street, the views from the pub are themselves rather pleasant, with Tower Bridge and the London Assembly building on the other side of the road. It's clearly positioning itself as that elusive bar / pub hybrid so commonly called a lounge, but I would consider this a modern pub, comfortable yet upmarket. The beer is not expensive, with a good selection of continental lagers (if you like that sort of thing) and proper beers, including Adnams Spindrift, a lager-style beverage with the hoppy deepness of a beer. Most refreshing. The food has never disappointed, and it's worth making the trip to the pub on Mondays, when Sausage and Mash night is a big winner. Three Sausages of your choice (from wild boar and venison, through apple and stilton, to vegetarian sausages) with a selection of Mash (standard, cheesy, herby) and a generous helping of gravy, all for the princely sum of £5. (Obviously only accurate at time of writing) Towards the end of the week the pub can get busy in the evenings, and in summer the clientele spill out onto the pavement in front. It does have the advantage of a spacious upstairs lounge that can be reserved - either as a whole or in parts - featuring deep old leather sofas, and more tables and chairs. I reserved half of the upstairs back in November for my 30th, and their hospitality was superb. They didn't charge me for the area, but I did help them out by ordering several platters of various delights. The food platters are fairly standard faire, but they are well cooked and exactly what you need to line the stomach during an extended session. In summary, it's a lovely pub with good service and beers, and an excellent Monday night Sausage and Mash special. read more

I stumbled across this pub, while trying to find the The Pommeler's Rest which in the end I gave up looking this pub I found mixed the old with a new very Pub Cellar looking with a Retro wine bar feel, the crowd in there were mainly young. There also looked like there was a upstairs area I didn't quite reach that area, but judging by the amount of people popping up and down from that area I could gather it was very popular with the regulars. Value for money drinks wise it was a definite no! no!! for me,if you are coming here be prepared to pay Wine bar prices yeps it was a definite steep on the pocket my advice if you coming here take lots of cash or have one drink and find a cheaper pub Lol. read more

The Bridge Lounge has a massive airy upstairs room with enormous windows looking out on to Tower Bridge park and comfy sofas, and when we were there, they weren't playing music upstairs, which made it nice and relaxing. We ate, and I made the error of ordering a quesadilla, which turned out to be very small, and not exciting. The other dishes were ok. Drinks are not especially cheap, but for me the pleasant setting and room made up for that. read more

I can't say I checked this place out in its entirety. We just stood around and had a few pints and the drinks were fine. They didn't mind us making a lot of noise. This great bar on Tooley Street is perfect for large groups. I train nearby on a Saturday morning and can often be found with some of the guys and girls in here, having a rewarding drink and indulging in some of the extremely good food, all freshly prepared on the premises. With Borough Market just up the road always tempting us this is a testament to the quality. Special points go to the burgers which are great and the goats cheese salad. The downstairs bar is tiny but service is quick and very friendly. There is an upstairs area of seats, great for private hire, which is very comfy. the manager recently allowed a large group of us to take over the floor as we'd arrived unexpectedly and it was much appreciated. All in all, a very well run bar, great to go with mates, with good food and service. Perfect then! read more

I was a little split on how to review The Bridge as it's my work local and easily the best pub (of 2) within a 10 minute walk however I decided to be slightly more neutral and as a result it gets a 3. There's nothing particularly wrong with the pub apart from the square bar in the middle which can lead to a nightmare getting served as the bar staff tend to focus on little pockets of it and leave a lot unattended. Your best be would be to head upstairs, grab a comfy couch and then rely on table service. Drink selection is OK. There tends to be more choice with bottles than tap although they do serve Kirin lager which is a favourite of mine and they tend to have 2 guest ales on a fairly regular rotation. I've tried a few of the bar snack type offerings and and again these are OK but nothing startling however I have seen signs offering sausage and mash for £5 on a Monday which is tempting! Drinks come in at around £4.70 a pint which is expensive but fairly typical for London unfortunately. Overall I haven't really got anything against The Bridge Lounge. It's just OK read more

Looking for a decent bar to relax with your mates in, then you could do much worse than here. With lots of seating upstairs and down, including lots of comfy leather sofa's, and tables outside for when it's warm there's plenty of room for large groups. The bar is situated downstairs and has a god variety of drinks and the usual main spirits. They also serve a range of coffee's for those being sensible. Undoubtedly, the best thing about this bar is the food menu, it is simply fantastic. Home-cooked food at great prices, with particular mention to the large burgers with thick wedges, this is relaxed service at it's best. Admittedly, i've only ever visited this venue early afternoons on a Saturday as it's right next to where i train, but i can't help but think that it's high standards and friendly service aren't replicated at other times. I got very DISAPPOINTED. I am registered in an app called freedrinkpubs, as some of you might know, some pubs are registered there and this weekend they were suppose to offer one drink to whoever had the voucher.... anyway, I walked a long way to get there and finaly get to know this pub, as I got in and spoke with the barman about the voucher he immediately said NO, and mentioned they were closing, I could see immediately it was an excuse for the voucher because the pub was suppose to close much later. The barman was EXTREMELY RUDE with me and it was a very UNPLEASANT situation. This isn´t the way to treat a potential client, and no one at all! A group of us from work came here for our Christmas dinner. It was one of the worst Christmas dinners we'd ever experienced. It is cold December 2012 and we're sat in a large dining room on the 1st floor with inadequate heating. The plates arrived and they're frozen. We mention this to the manager and he says for health and safety reasons, they cannot warm the plates! The main meal arrives and the roast potatoes look great from the outside but are as solid as rock on the inside and greasy. The rest of the meal arrives, the veg (carrots and parsnips) are burnt, extremely greasy and luke warm! We tell the manager about the potatoes and he takes them away, leaving the rest of the meal to sit on the table for at least 20 mins. When the potatoes come back, the rest of the meal is cold. To prepare the potatoes, The Bridge Lounge & Bar had simply put them in a deep fat fryer after only partially roasting them in the oven previously. I don't know if anyone has ever experienced this but it was horrific!!! At this point, I made an official complaint on behalf of the group about the poor quality of the meal and the catalogue of errors that were making matters worse. I was fobbed off and told that I could only make my complaint to the owner. The manager seemed rather young to be in a position of such responsibility. He was also quite rude and left me feeling concerned about the food we'd received. I also felt like giving him to tissue to blow his nose because as he was speaking to us it was continually running! I decided that I would take this up with the owner as he is ultimately responsible. Whenever I tried to call the owner, he was never available. On one occasion, I called and stood outside the bar and was told that the manager wasn't there even though I could see him behind the bar, standing next to the person who I was speaking to. I never did speak to the manager, or get my refund but thought I'd leave this review instead. I think you should seriously consider going here because The Bridge Lounge & Bar does not care about your custom, or about the poor quality of the food they throw at you, JUST YOUR CASH !!! read more

Had a pint and the fish and chips with my girlfriend. Pint was quite good, the fish was quite good, the chips and the service was great. Tartar sauce very well done. Peas, however, not mushy and didn't seem cooked or prepared at all. Big portions - I'm a big guy who hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast and I couldn't even finish it.
