Within the first week I was thinking more clearly and the benefits have continued to grow exponentially over the years. I have a sense of calm that I didn't even know was possible. I moved to Portland a year ago and I didn't know anyone there. Someone had told me that there was a teacher there, so I decided to reach out. Cindy and Caroline were both so genuine and friendly from the first time we met. I went to several of their group meditations and the knowledge they shared always resonated with me on such a deep level. I felt uplifted mentally, emotionally, and spiritually every time. Many times I reached out to Cindy personally in between the group meditations because I was going through something and she was always so quick to respond and offer support and encouragement. I was always so uplifted after our discussions! I love this practice so much and I can't even begin to express how grateful I am to be able to move to a new city and immediately be welcomed by Cindy and members of this community. Even when Covid came, they continued to run their weekly group meditations online with zoom and still offered the same support and inspiration! I highly recommend Cindy and the practice of Vedic Meditation. Best decision I ever made.

She listened very deeply and was able to work with all of the information that I conveyed to her, no matter how strange it was. Lana worked with me right where I was at. I've received a lot of energetic healing treatments in the past 10 years. One of the benchmarks of good work is whenever I receive energy work or body work is if it puts me to sleep. Lana knocked me out within minutes of beginning. I found myself in an interestingly deep dream state. Becoming conscious in moments and in a dreamscape in others. At one point I felt her working on my head, and without touching me I felt the distinct feeling of heat lamps on top of my head. When I began to wake, Lana was there smiling at me. We were both in a bit of a dream/trance state at the end of the session, but she was able to tell me an incredibly vision of what she'd seen while working on me. What she told me was so personally accurate and true to my journey it really lit me up. One very interesting piece is that she conveyed that she was working with a Lion spirit guide that was working with me. Over the next week, almost every day I found myself in front of some giant effigy of a lion, from giant ads, to statues, to toys... Lion images popping up everywhere... something that has confirmed for me what she reported to me. On a physiological experience, I noticed that after days of being on my phone, my fingertips were feeling incredibly sensitive and agitated from touching the phone screen so much. In that hour with her, that feeling was completely gone and has remained gone for a week. I have also become aware of what was happening to my fingertips, and am taking measures to avoid touching the screen as much. It's been a little while, though, and I was in need, in crisis mode and I reached out to the Reiki community and Lana reached back I am so thankful to Lana for the powerful and effective Reiki treatment I received from her. Having recently been in a car accident, I suffered nerve-related injuries to my shoulder. I came to her frustrated and in considerable pain. She instantly made me comfortable in her beautiful treatment space. The luxury of receiving a hands-on session from someone who is so clearly a gifted healer was like a late birthday present from the Reiki faeries! The session was electric. I could feel my nerves popping throughout my body (in a good way). I quickly slipped into a half-dream state and could feel my frustrations floating away. As Eric mentioned, the ability to drift off is a sign of a good session The treatment was generous and I at no point felt rushed. I was in the capable hands of a master! At the end of the treatment, Lana asked if she could apply essential oils that her intuition had suggested. Of course I accepted! After I left, I felt rejuvenated, happy with a pleasantly numb sensation in my shoulder like I had been given a shot of Motrin. I plan on scheduling many more sessions with her in the future! I've taken two instructors and the classes were similar which made me think it's the yoga 6 style, rather than the specific instructor. The restore classes have their pros and cons. It's nice that's it's heated, makes the workout feel more effective. The other plus is the cold towel at the end. The main con: the class is too fast paced. The most effective restorative classes I've taken (mostly in Seattle and Beaverton) are as mind and "edge" focused as physical. The positions are held for upwards of 15-30+ seconds. You kind of feel pain or discomfort but you let up a little or suffer through it for a deeper release or some sort of emotional/mental realization. You don't really get there if you're switching moves every 10 seconds. You can't really make self discoveries or recovery if you're too focused on the next move. It's hard to explain but if you've experienced it, you know. IYKYK. Other cons are both classes had very receptive movements. One instructor here really liked downward dogs, the other really liked sun salutations, we don't need to do these 5-10 times. Other adds I've liked other places, but not dealbreakers are: sound bowls, artificial candles, more like meditative music without words, instructors that help push you into a deeper stretch/massage you if you're interested in that, and some inspiring quotes or things to focus on or think about in class. Overall, west Vancouver is getting its bougie fitness together. It's slow but this is the only option right now. Good enough when you need a class, but a drive might be worth it.
