I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito here at the Break! They serve the burrito with one side and this delicious homemade salsa. My husband got the Big Kahuna and for $17 it wasn't actually that much food. 2 eggs, 1 piece of sausage, 1 piece of toast, grits, and french toast. We have definitely received bigger portions at other places. The coffee was really watered down and didn't have much flavor but that is normal for diner style coffee. We went for brunch on a Saturday morning around 11, and it was full inside (usually a great sign). We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table of 5, but nothing crazy. It's on the small side inside, mostly little booths. Once seated the waitress was very attentive and came back several times for our order, refills, and just general check ins. We all thought the food was great--I think my wife and my 3 kids all ate everything on their plate--which can be rare at times for everyone to wipe them clean! Prices were very reasonable for breakfast and lunch items. We enjoyed our meal and would likely go back. read more

After reading great reviews and wanting to try something new we gave The Break a try last week. It is clean and nice looking inside. We sat down a few minutes before 11 and decided to order from the lunch menu. I had a burger because it was described as a smash burger; it is not... it was ok. Serviceable, not great and really not much flavor. The bun was nice. The waffle fries were the best part! My wife had the shrimp salad wrap and she didn't care for it. She said it was just shrimp with a tiny bit of mayo. Normally a seafood/chicken/tuna salad will have mayo and seasonings and some pizazz! This was blah. She also got a 1/2 of a waffle to try and it was good!! Overall we were let down with the lunch food, but based off the good waffle we will be back for breakfast. To those about to nosh, get the breakfast! Their lunch items need some tuning. read more

Ordered the ahi tuna sandwich to go. I know fish to go is often risky as it gets overcooked in the box but that wasn't the case here. Service was friendly taking my order on the phone. The ambiance is so cute. Nice counter service or table service. This was my first time here. My wait was minimal and service was attentive. The fish was cooked perfectly and was really good. It was the california benedict with grits and a mimosa for me and the set omelette with sage sausage, tomatoes and goat cheese and a coffee for my husband. Awesome staff! Went above and beyond to accommodate my family since we brought our dog but it was 210° outside. Understandably we couldn't bring him inside so they packed our orders up for us to go and make sure you grab some cookies, they're made in house and fantastic! The food itself was very good as well, we ordered a few Eggs Benedict, a bomb chicken wrap, and a huge BLT sammich. All devoured with zero left overs. Thanks again for the awesome service y'all! We were quickly seated. Our server was friendly, read us the specials, and took good care of us. Unfortunately, the food just had no flavor. I had the fresh hash browns, bacon, and eggs. Biscuit and a side of gravy. The sausage gravy is great. The biscuit was flat, hard, and not fluffy. The gravy made the biscuit ok. The eggs - no flavor, hashbrowns add cheese and onions, no flavor. The kind of place which is likely to be a return place, just for the fact that it's convenient for breakfast and lunch. We were at the later part of the lunch time period and and went with sandwiches and tacos. The special of the day were tacos and chicken and chorizo (strange combo) with a side for $10. 2 stars for service. Went on a busy Saturday morning. Walked in and took a while to get acknowledged and the place is very small! Two gentlemen walked in behind us and were seated at the counter before we were seated. Server asked if we wanted the counter or booth, we chose the booth. As we were seating ourselves, as the first sever had pointed to our booth... not one, but two separate servers commented on us sitting as "others were waiting on tables" not realizing that another server had given us the booth (and we had also been waiting). We simply explained that the first sever had told us to go to the booth so already not off to a great start. Finally had our sever, one of the two who had rudely commented on us seating ourselves, come over and give us menus. She started to explain again that she didn't realize someone else had told us to sit. She also wanted to make excuses for the guy bussing tables commenting on us going to sit was because "He was her husband "?!? Like, what?? I just simply said we were just going to the table after the sever told us to...Made no sense and we weren't irrate about it at all so no explaining necessary, just a simple apologyfor the misunderstanding would've worked. Anywho, we moved on and after about 10 min, placed our order. Took a while on the food and noticed the two gentlemen who came in after us and were seated at the counter, had received AND finished their food before we even got our's. So definitely 2 stars for service as we felt unwelcome from the moment we stepped in the door. Won't be back. read more

What a great breakfast we had at The Break this past week! Peyton took great care of us and gave special attention to our grandchildren. The kids had the Belgium waffles served with whipped cream and berries which I can confirm were delicious. My husband had a traditional breakfast sandwich including sausage, eggs and cheese on a large biscuit, and I had one of the specialty eggs Benedict choices which had sausage gravy over the traditional version on a biscuit. Everything was so good and the staff and service were outstanding. Highly recommend this place for breakfast - they also serve lunch. read more

We dined twice here while at OKI. To say it is amazing would be an understatement. The place is clean, casual, friendly. The servers and cooks are always smiling. And let me tell you...they have the best grits in the south! YUM-MY! We had waffles our first day...big and fluffy! Today we tried the Western Omelette and sausage gravy...both outstanding.
