Really fun beach bar. We came in to wait out a thunderstorm, and the views were perfect. Bartender was very nice. They make their own chips, but were out today, so we got some sides that rocked. Jalapeño potato salad, garlic broccoli, and, my favorite, chipotle grits. The crowd can get pretty rowdy at times, but that's to be expected given the location. Had dropped by The Break for a bite to eat after being on the beach all day. Thankfully there was no wait and we were quickly seated outside. It was a very nice dinner on the boardwalk with a nice a beautiful view. The menu was okay-- had some salads, burgers, sandwiches, and sushi. We started with some beers and drinks and the nachos to start. Nachos were pretty good and the tortilla chips were layered with all the toppings. Our food came out a short time later. Great place for when you want an easy sit down lunch on the boardwalk. Our drinks took about 25 minutes to come out, but our food arrived very shortly after and everything was tasty. Sadly it has declined in food from last summer. Went today. Took awhile to order but the food did arrive in a timely fashion. Ordered some Kind of 3 Dragon sushi roll. Tasty off. Though I ate it the whole time thinking something is off cuz I was hungry. Friend ordered watermelon Jacimi salad and said the jacimi was a poor amount in the salad. Pretty much all watermelon and greens. Other friend ordered buffalo wings. I've visited this spot twice this past summer, and had great meals, both times! The service can be somewhat spotty when it comes to get a table (initially), and they are always packed when I'm there, so it takes some time before a server will come by to take your order. Love the ambiance indoors (too hot for the outside!). As for the food, we had a round of oysters for our appetizer, and then the mussel pot (both EXCELLENT) and I have to say, the Maui Bowl was really really really good. Something about that coconut rice is divine! I would pass on drinking the sake (it wasn't that great), and next summer, I think I might try their sushi (it seemed to a popular ordering choice, from what I could see). read more

I came here for lunch before heading to beach. It was perfect that we were able to get right in and sat on the boardwalk. The staff was friendly but service was a little slow. However didn't bother me so much since we were enjoying the scenery of being on/off the beach. We ordered some apps and I had pork roll egg and cheese which was sub par. A friend and I visited this establishment a few days ago. Let me start by saying the food was very good. We ordered some sushi rolls and the buffalo cauliflower. Both were yummy! I also had the white sangria and that was also good. The waitress was sweet. The problem was that the service was soooooo slow !! We easily waited 45 minutes for our food to be brought out. There was a hair in my friends wine glass. We were comped for the hair though. So that was well done. We also went during happy hour and there were only two choices in wine. And only red sangria offered because that's all that was opened at the time. Ok. Usually you'll have a red choice and a white choice for happy hour. This restaurant is only 2 months old. Picked this place because they had reservations available for the holiday week. We got there early and grabbed a drink at the bar. I would not recommend getting any wine as it was almost double the price for a glass as it would be at a normal restaurant. The bar service wasn't great. It was pretty empty yet we still waited about 10 minutes before any of the bartenders even acknowledged us. Once we got our table, the food was ok, but not great. We were a party of 4 but they only gave us 2 menus. I got a sushi roll which was good. But others in my party got the tacos and they were overcooked and dry. The waitress was fine. Stopped here before a show at the Stone Pony Summer Stage. It was our first time since the business changed names. The new menu was really interesting- a combination of sushi, Mexican and American dishes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of the staff remains the same- they've always been friendly, helpful and full of great suggestions. Nothing in terms of service has changed- food was fresh, delicious and came out relatively quickly despite them being busy. Lots of fresh air, even if you're not seated at their outside patio. I can't say enough amazing things about the Chicken Spring Rolls!! Flavorful but not overwhelming, crispy, and easily shared. The quesadilla comes with fresh veggies (you can also add proteins), loaded with cheese, and is pretty filling! Went here on a Friday night and had a wonderful evening out with friends. Warm and welcoming atmosphere and everything we had was very good. Thank you to the bartender, Erin, for turning us on to her favorite drink, which was like a creamy Mai Tai. So so good! Our waiter, Matt, was awesome and had some great recommendations. For appetizers we had the Tiger Roll, a Spicy Tuna Roll, and the Chicken Spring Rolls. All were delicious. For entrees our group had a variety of the tacos (steak, tuna and shrimp) and I had the Tuna Chop Salad. The tuna was very fresh and cooked perfectly (sesame crusted and seared rare). The light dressing on the salad below was delicious with the tuna. All who had the tacos also had nothing but good things to say. Prices were reasonable, service was a little slow but good, and for the last 1/2 hour we were there we got to listen to a great band. They have seats inside and on the boardwalk outside. I always liked Langosta Lounge but thought it was a bit pretentious. The Break has a much nicer vibe than Langosta Lounge did, and a great menu with awesome drinks. I guess I should have expected the prices based on location, but even $30 for a burrito is steep -- and I live in NYC. Two different draft beers were out, service was slow despite the fact that it wasn't busy, we had to ask 3 different people to get our table napkins and cutlery, and they added extra charge to use a credit card (which isn't communicated up front).
