My Favorite Mistake. When I placed my order I was looking for a local shop, so I would be able to contact if I needed additional items. After scouring a couple of sites I came up with this site and figured why not? Fast forward 2weeks later, I was wondering what was the status of my order. So I called the store and they said " Yes, its here and done, you checked pick up." Oh Wow I missed that option, I am on my way. Reluctantly, I got in my car and headed to Baldwin Long Island w/my trustee GPS. DUH! I hadn't even noticed the option, that what kept on racing in my mind the whole way over. I hate the Southern State, Ughgh Maybe I should of asked them to mail it to me. Oh well, nothing I can do now. SOOOOO HAPPY I missed it. They are GaaaaaREEEEEEAAAT!!! Love Love Love, did I mention love this store. A+++++ Customer Service, if you can't find it they will help you get it. Lots of ideas for inspiration that can be made by them or yourself. I will definitely shop for more items. They were so gracious and helpful, I look forward to working with them for my 40th Birthday party. You can find all your party needs plus more. If you are crafty like me, drag yourself out the store before you go broke. I am disappointed in this company and here are 2 primary reasons why: 1- After a long online search to find a good quality business to rent my cousin's baby shower chair, I stumbled onto this company. Having found no real threatening reviews, I decided to place the order. Here is when I knew something would be wrong. Minutes after the order was placed, my bank notified me that the funds were received by the company. I waited for a follow-up email containing a pick up time or confirmation of some sort and received none. Assuming that the funds may take a few hours to clear on the company's end, 2 days would follow and still no email. I decided to finally call and the woman on the phone informed me that she did not see any order which immediately caused me to worry. After being placed on a long hold, she returned and informed me that she found the order and that it would be ready for pickup on the day selected, between 1pm-6pm. Mark this time as I go into point #2 2- The day of the event came and my Aunt arrived at the shop between the hours provided, more specifically, at 4:15pm (after 1pm and before 6pm) Guess what? The person at the business location proceeded to inform my Aunt that she did not have a chair ready for her, because they "forgot" to which my aunt frantically called me. After a back and forth conversation, my aunt was informed to wait and they would start the order. Over 15 minutes would pass and they provided her with a chair that was not only of poor quality but not the color I paid extra money for...the problems that occurs with rushing. My aunt decided that for the safety of the expecting mother, she could not take the chair. This left us without a chair for the shower and a very sad first time mom whose memory of her shower would be the story my aunt told before apologizing for us not looking further into this company. Closing point of this post, do not engage in business with this company unless you are able to go in and see their work of previous jobs and you enjoy staying on a company's back to remind them about the service they promised, which you paid for. I generally dislike putting businesses out there but this was highly unacceptable and beyond their apology. Image attached, please zoom into the base to see an example of quality. We used the Brat Shack for my daughter's birthday last year. Just recently realized I never wrote a review and I strongly feel they deserve one! They were awesome!!!! The dessert table turned out fabulous and many of our guests ranted and raved on how great the candy and desserts looked and tasted!!! They went above and beyond to stick with the theme and colors I wanted without compromising on taste at a very fair price! The chocolate and desserts were fresh and delicious. The girls were sweet and friendly and arrived on time to set up the table prior to the party and afterwards to take down the decorations. All i knew was that i wanted a brunch and some colors that i liked. They gave me suggestions and put together a FABULOUS package within my budget. This is our neighborhood party store. I was chairing an event for our local high school's pep rally. Unfortunately, I received the wrong information and ordered the wrong balloon arch. Since it was only an hour before the event, I didn't think there was much I could do. Not only did they take back the item and fix it, they did it in less than an hour. I found the Brat Shack on line as I was looking for a last minute item for my daughter's shower. I called first to find out if the item I wanted was available and Parnell told me what was available on the floor and had someone check if they had more in storage. He told me he thought he would be able to have his vendor supply more by the next day. I stopped by the store and Parnell and Vicky could not be more accomodating. Parnell told me that he had already called a vendor and they would be dropping more items off by that evening and I could pick up first thing in the am. He also called me later on my cell that the items were already in the store. When I stopped by the next day to purchase the remaining items, Vicky was very helpful. I had placed an Order for a baby shower chair rental on March 30 for an event on april 25. I paid for The rental and for delivery and received an email confirmation right away. The day of my party there was no chair and I called the store and it was closed! i left a message on their answering machine at which they got back to me two days later. They basically blamed me explaining that none of their employees were able to get in touch with me to finalize the delivery (even though I had filled out the address and event time when placing the order) meanwhile I did not have one voicemail from their store asking to call them. I used The Brat Shack for renting tables and chairs for my mom's 50th birthday party. I had a few issues with the lack of services. They answer calls right in front of you and make you wait even though you've been waiting for help. They don't help load, unload or deliver, huge minus for me. They really should/could improve their customer service. I don't think I'll be using them again unless I feel like being treated like my money doesn't really matter. read more

I had a baby shower and enlisted help from the brat shack for, balloons,chair and ribbons. Some of the ribbons came out great and the rest were printed wrong. The columns on my balloon arch were different colors then the arch itself. They took it back and when rtnd it was still the wrong colors. Now the chair, the ribbons looked old and used. To sum it it up only a couple of ribbons were done correctly. Never again will I go to them for anything. Oh neither will any of my friends! read more

SOOOOOO disappointed with The Brat Shack. I called to see if they had a bridal chair and wishing well for my sister's shower and if they could have it ready for 11:30am pickup. They said "No problem" and to order and pay through the website. Fast forward to day of shower........nobody showed up to open until almost an hour later!!!! The chair and well were NOT even ready for us--they wrote down the wrong date!! Then they take a further deposit from us (which I was never told about) and tell us we can't return them until 2 days later!!! My party already started by the time we got them there and we still had to rush to decorate them. No apologies from them......BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. read more

I placed an order back on January 2016 for my wedding which we needed to move from November 2016 till January 2017 for health issues, I had called and spoke with a young girl who said ok that's not a problem, our original date comes along and the owner calls and asks when we will be picking up the favors, I explained to him I called in September to change our date and he took the new info and said not a problem, he said he has all the information taped to his computer screen for him to look at everyday, today I call to find out what time I can pick up my favors to be told they had no clue what I was talking about that there were no favors and because I didn't have an invoice number at the time she was not able to give me any information that I should call back at 3 o'clock to speak with the owner, I had my fiance call to speak with the owner and when she called a young lady told her the owner was not in today, then got very nasty with my fiance and basically told her they did not have anything ready because we had changed so many times, (1time) bow less then a month away from our private wedding and right during the holiday rush we still have to put our favors together in a rush, thanks for ruining our day and making the wedding that much more stressful!!! You have lost a lot of clients in our area word spreads fast, I will be contacting you for a refund read more

I don't normally do this but I feel like it's much needed! I have been getting stuff from this place for years and never had a problem. I put an order in for favors a year before the wedding just to make sure we had that taken care of. We had to change the date because oh health reasons and then got a call for the original date stating that we did not pick up our order which we then told the owner we called to change the date with some girl and she said she would take care of it, he said sorry we will fix this and you can pick it up on 12-17. I called today to make sure it was ready and got nothing but an attitude from some young girl to later find out that it was never done and now we can't pick them up until the week of Christmas. So my wedding is 1-14-17 and that leaves us with no time to put the favors together with the holidays! Thank you for making the BRIDE extremely upset.
