First off it's a second floor restaurant and the elevator is not working, for how long who knows. So if you have mobility issues or need ADA compliance this may be an issue. Big bar area and indoor seating but the outdoor patio with the view of the Gulf is the place to be. Nice menu lots of choices and drinks so take your time before you order. Service was good as were the drinks. The cheese steak was good as were the French fries and gravy. They come with chips but they are a bag of Lays chips, kind of not classy at all. Least they could have opened them and put on the plate. The ahi tuna was a nice size and cooked well but smothered in an Asian sauce obliterated the taste of the tuna. The coleslaw was bland and the side salad was decent. Not a deal breaker but next time we'll order some different items see how they pan out. read more

Stopped by The Brass Monkey on a Sunday afternoon in PAG to watch a little football and grab some food. Place is always lively with all sorts of football fans, especially Ravens. They have quite a few things on their menu and all we have tried are very good. Menu definitely lean towards dishes with a crab base. This time we tried a pizza and a turkey Reuben sandwich and both were phenomenal. Service at the bar is always top-notch and the bartenders and wait staff are extremely friendly and outgoing. Just an all-around great atmosphere and experience every time we go. And the location on the beach with the views of the Gulf are hard to beat! read more

Finally made our way down to Pass-a-Grille beach and to this piece of Maryland here in Florida. Although it was chilly we chose to dine outside to enjoy the views of the beach and gulf. Service was good and prompt. Worked our way around the menu and liked everything we tried. Suggest getting something with Crab Dip as it was quite good. If you're sensitive to weather there is an inside section with more than a few tables and a bar as well. Didn't take any photos inside but if you're from Maryland you will certainly feel at home. The portion of tuna was commendable, and it tasted so good- packed with flavor! My chicken salad wrap was amazing, too! The chicken salad was flavorful, tender and smooth with an impressive chicken:wrap ratio. The view on the outdoor patio is mesmerizing- we loved watching the sunset while we finished dinner. I ate at Brass Monkey twice on a recent girls beach trip and there were very good and not so good things. Great - we showed up 15 minutes before the kitchen closed (longggg travel day) and they were so friendly and accommodating. Here are the food items that are very good and consistent - stuffed mushrooms, crab flatbread, French fries with Old Bay, white fish dip, and fancy fries (fried green beans). Not so good food - both times someone in my group ordered the crab cakes they were incredibly fishy and not good. My friends ordered them days apart and one was the mini crab cakes app and the other was the meal. The first time, we mentioned the fishy taste and the server was like "Oh, that's too bad" and didn't offer to refund them or get us something else. We didn't say anything the second time. Also, the jumbo steamed shrimp with Old Bay and onions were overcooked and tough. We didn't finish them either. read more

My friends are in town from Texas and we wanted to see each other. We decided to go over to Pass-A-Grille and have dinner. I got the appetizer stuffed mushrooms with lump crab meat and it was very good with the squeeze of lemon. My lemon pepper grouper sandwich was tasty. Nice views of the beach. You do have to climb the stairs to get to the restaurant. There is an elevator but you have to call the phone number and make sure someone opens the door for you. The staff is good. 1 Star (because 0 isn't an option) I rarely leave reviews, but our experience at Brass Monkey in Pass-a-Grille, FL was absolutely unacceptable on every level. To start, there were shells in our crab cakes--not just a tiny piece, but crunchy, painful-to-bite-into shells that made the dish inedible. As if that weren't enough, my young niece found a piece of plastic in her drink, and I found plastic in my salad. That's TWO different dishes containing plastic--clearly a sign of major negligence in the kitchen. We calmly brought this to the attention of the manager, expecting at least an apology or a professional response. Instead, we were met with aggression and blatant rudeness. The manager was dismissive, defensive, and made us feel like we were the problem for daring to point out health and safety concerns. To make matters worse, a table near us made a homophobic comment toward my sister, loud enough for us to hear. Not only was it offensive and disgusting, but no staff member stepped in or addressed it, despite being well aware of what was said. This complete disregard for creating a safe and respectful environment speaks volumes about the values of this establishment. Do not go to Brass Monkey if you care about basic food safety, respectful service, or human decency. We left feeling disrespected, disgusted, and deeply disappointed. There are plenty of other places in Pass-a-Grille that serve good food and treat their customers with kindness--this is not one of them. read more

As an out of town visitor I went to this restaurant with my friend and her family on Monday evening after spending the day at the beach. My friend and her husband chose this restaurant for their pre teen who is a Baltimore Ravens fan and thought he would get a kick out of the decor, which I think he did. The highlight of the restaurant is the physical location, as it has breathtaking waterfront views, but in my opinion that the most complementary I can be about the dining experience. We were a party of six and were seated outside. If my memory serves me correctly, our servers name was Madison and let's just say that she was having a rough shift! The table asked for a round of waters with lemon, she forgot the lemons, no biggie the first time, but we had to ask a second time. I opted to have my check separate from the family I was with-I ordered the stuffed shrimp which came with two sides and a crab pretzel as an appetizer. She was able to answer my questions about the size/quantity of shrimp. I thought it was priced high but was really wanting seafood and shrimp stuffed with crab, I figured, how could I go wrong? I also wanted some crabs and the crab pretzel sounded amazing and figured I would share it with others at the table. Well the pretzel was decent, but over priced in my opinion. I ordered some sort of boiled potatoes and a salad with my shrimp. She brought the salad first and I must admit was bummed that they didn't have Italian dressing on the menu, so I ended up with oil and vinegar. I felt bad for the poor girl when she brought the oil and vinegar one of the bottles fell and the topper came off spilling on to the table. She was super apologetic and seemed almost embarrassed. It think we all felt bad for her and expressed empathy and told her not to worry, it was ok and accidents happen. As for the food the salad was nothing special, the potatoes were blah and I was not impressed with the stuffed shrimp, the shrimp itself was tough. I only ate one shrimp and my friend eat the second and she was very happy with it, I'm just glad it didn't go to waste and someone enjoyed it. The server also spilled some water at some point as well. My friend was happy with the pricing for herself and her family-the 5 of them got out of there with very reasonably priced burgers, a pizza, and a few orders of loaded fries(which I sampled and enjoyed) while my food cost $50+ and in my opinion was not worth the money. This is not a place I have any interest in returning to unless I am maybe sitting outside staring at the water sipping on an alcoholic beverage. I hate that I couldn't rate yall higher but my experience fell flat due to pricing, food quality and a poor server that was having a tough day. read more

When the store bought pickle and the bag of Lay's potato chips are your highlights.... The beach and sunset view is spectacular and unfortunately it pretty much ends there. Great for real estate, can't be the only thing for restaurant dining. We went with the Crab Cake Rueben and the Crab Imperial Both "known winning dishes." The Rueben was bland, The Crab Imperial was torched and not creamy in any way, green beans rubbery and cold. Big wins were the pickle and the chips. Unfortunately sad and regrettable. We didn't finish the food and just paid our check. Kitchen service was curiously slow as we came during a lull, wasn't even 1/2 full When we ordered. I wouldn't dine here again. Just get a drink and watch the sunset because the view truly is remarkable. read more

For an appetizer we ordered crab artichoke dip, it came with a crusted cheese top served w crackers, although tastey, impossible to eat without using a sharp knife to cut thru crust, made a mess and hard to share. They need to rethink this, then the stuffed mushroom that way too al dente. Entree's included wilted Caesar salads w overcooked cold grouper. Management was more defensive than helpful, did comp 1 salad, but didn't make up for a bad experience, wasted time and money. Other great options in the area, skip this one! I'm born and raised in Maryland so I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately it was disappointing. We went upstairs and were seated immediately outside. Great views of the beach. Our waitress was young and not friendly. She seemed rushed whenever she stopped by and like we were a bother almost. She would sometimes walk by without checking on our drinks. I was curious about the crab dip. I had seen several pictures online and was not sure if it came with crackers or bread or what kind of crackers. When I asked our waitress what kind of crackers, her reply was "round." I wasn't sure if it came with wheat, butter, poppyseed, or another kind. So round was not the answer I was looking for given I didn't ask what shape. The crab dip was mediocre at best. Very little crab in the dip. Just wandering around on a drive down the coast highway and decided to go straight on to Pass-A-Grill. The outside deck overlooked the Gulf of America. Glad we did. Stopped for lunch and just happened to pop into The Brass Monkey and said "look - Ravens carpet!" It is a Baltimore bar in Florida. Great welcome and service throughout our lunch. I started with Monkey Balls - 4 little crab balls and a delish sauce. Also so so Old Bay Wings. Perfectly done really tasty and perfect amount of the Maryland classic spice. We had a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, not too spicy and the chicken salad was great. Had a great Black Cherry Drop Martin, Pomegranate Sunset Martini and a wonderful Bloody Mary with Montreal Steak season rim. If you get lost on Pass-A-Grille Gulf Way stop in and enjoy.
