We showed up to Walt'z at 5:00 sharp, their opening time, and there was about 10 other people in front of us waiting to experience what would soon become a nightmare. We waited for what felt like an eternity to actually step foot inside the small, congested shak, and as we sat down and asked the hostess/bartender/owner/manager Sue (MUCH more on her later) to pull up a chair since we had a party of five, she flashed us a snobby look and reluctantly brought the chair. As my 10-year old daughter moved her chair over to sit near me, the woman shot her a patronizing glare and scolded her, stating that we were not allowed to move chairs around then actually MOVED HER CHAIR WITH HER SITTING IN IT!!!!!!!!!!! (what kind of person\business woman would do that??????) Due to a lack of AC, my husband requested that he position the fan so that he could get a breeze towards him, but she once again scolded him for doing so. And this was only the beginning of the madness. So our drinks come out and my daughter, who ordered a Coke, complains that it tastes very flat, and she passed it around the table and we all agreed that there was something wrong with her Coke. So we ask our waitress, who told us that we weren't wrong; the Coke they serve comes from a can. We understood, despite being a family that does prefer being served fountain soda, So we asked if we could get it taken off our check, once again, no. Our appetizers (asparagus soup and crawfish patties) come out and although we couldn't complain one bit about the patties, the soup was very bland. A family of tourists from Wisconsin got the table next to us, and brought in a stroller for the 2-year-old son. Immediately after, Sue scolded this family for bringing in their stroller due to the shak's congested space. 30 minutes or so after putting the stroller in their car, the baby started quietly crying then quickly stopped. Sue came over to the table and started screaming at the baby and his family for "scaring away four tables". Absurd. At this point, the family was fed up and were about ready to get up and leave, but thought to give them a second chance. Ten minutes later, the baby started to fall asleep on his grandmother's lap. When they asked Sue if they had any highchairs, she resentfully responded with "This is a fish shak, not a place for a baby to take naps." OUTRAGEOUS!!! The grandpa paid the bill and they all left without saying another word. Feeling empathy for them and being absolutely fed up with this woman and her attitude towards everything, we also left before being served our entrees, of course after paying for our drinks and apps. I will NEVER be back here due to the lack of respect and dignity shown towards my family as well as those around us. This is one of many negative reviews on this site about this woman and her restaurant, so trust me and everyone else who has blasted this place when we advise you not to waste your time and money by dining here. read more
