We had been playing the spy game that the local shops had rallied together for, and not only did she make sure we got our letter, but she tipped us off to make sure we could fully enjoy our game. Like the shop, she was an absolute delight. (My mate said that she seems like an older version of me, so excuse my bias. If I'm as friendly and personable as her, heck if I work in a toy store like her, when I get older, I'll be ecstatic.) If you're just looking for me to talk toys and not associates, trust me, that's golden too. We're both in the latter half of our twenties, but I think I lost two decades of stress in that place. There are puppets and trinkets and so many affordable toys that I left behind, opting for two rubber duckies to add to my collection. Reverse time and drop by to get yourself an ooze dribbler. He explained some of inventory was in boxes due to returning from a convention, but he would look into it. He sent a picture to the manager who confirmed they had the item and he went into the boxes to grab it for us. He really made a huge difference for us, as this was the only thing our 7 year old wanted for their birthday. I've been there with a rocket club in the back room, RC cars going on the track, and yet another group up front, meeting in the actual hobby shop part. The staff is super-friendly, and willing to help out and offer suggestions for whatever kind of project you want to take on. It's jam packed with all sorts of neat, unique items that you don't find at the other big box stores. Nearly all of the inventory has educational value with a heavy concentration on free form play. My niece is exceptionally gifted and we struggle to find gifts for her that actually stimulate her. She's blessed with a mind that visualizes solutions quickly. I picked up several brain teasers I've never seen elsewhere, some card games that seemed as if they may challenge her and a hanging seat for my son that I've looked for elsewhere without success. The woman at the counter was incredibly knowledgeable about her products and took the time to go get a former demo item so I could be certain I was purchasing something I'd enjoy. I live several hours away from this store, but plan to make another trip down soon for birthday and holiday gifts. I wish she was closer to my house, but then again I'd spend a fortune at her store. This little trip cost me $250, but I have no guilt because they seem to be unique, well made toys with a heavy emphasis on educational components! I'll be back...
