Replaced by row upon row of soulless Funko Pops. Boardgame section? Hardly any used and all new... and no real reason to buy there as opposed to Amazon or other online BG retailer. RPG section? No more 1e D&D modules or older materials, or anything else for that matter. Just the same old 5e crap, with Critical Role mixed in, with video game guides slowly spreading into the section like a cancer. The only good thing was not in the store, but in the parking lot, where they had a car show going on. The place turned from nerd-vana into just another BAM! bookstore (the owners of 2nd & Charles). Won't be back.

It used to be a Books-A-Million from the same chain. They have a great selection of used tabletop RPGs that also includes some new products at full retail price. It's a huge store that buys from customers. Getting into and out of the parking lot is difficult because U.S. 190 and service roads are confusing and traffic is chaotic. I use my phone to navigate even short drives in this part of Covington.

There's a friendly staff and a great selection of collectibles and books in a true bibliophile environment. Volumes cover a variety of genres, but selection is especially strong in classic fiction, religion, children's favorites, and local authors. I saw all the works of Walker Percy, as well as other local notables. Book lovers should check this out.

On a Saturday I got a wild hair and decided to come visit, and let me tell you, I do not regret it at all! Local owners featuring local (and not local) authors and artists, this is such a super cute spot. The kids room with a huge fake tree and pillows on the floor and books so kids can lie down and read is just too cute for words. I look forward to coming back, hopefully for one of their events, or just to shop and recommend for anyone within driving distance to come and take a look around.

We came across Crescent City Books while doing a walkabout in the French Quarter. With cocktails in hand, we strolled through CCB. I was instantly drawn to their local authors section, and I walked away with "Big Freedia: God Save the Queen Diva!" A gf of mine got a children's book, and another friend purchased some postcards. Frank greeted us when we walked in, and then shared the story of Faulkner's history in the building, a former boarding house. The bookstore is the room where Faulkner did his writing, and although small, has a well curated selection of books. Faulkner's books are highlighted on the center table, classics line the walls, a bookshelf of poetry is in the second room, and plenty of books on New Orleans culture are available.
