The word all around chapin is how…read moreamazing and adorable this place is, so with a friend in town, figured it was the perfect time...no disappointment here!! We thought it was a 'pour your own candle' type place/experience, but really it's a bistro restaurant that also sells amazing candles (in addition to other cute items.) We were starving, and looking forward to lunch, which was one of the most incredible meals I've ever had. Everything is made fresh to order and 'from scratch' and not only does the flavor reflect this, but every sibgle detail and aspect of the meal. We couldnt decide what to order so decided to just share everything. We started with the half baguette with olive tapenade and herbed butter. It cane out warm and the tapenade was obviously homemade...it was at this point we knew we were in for a treat! Next up was the lemony caesar salad with lobster salad added and the watermelon feta special salad. I literally licked the plate with both. The caesar dressing was SPECTACULAR, a secret recipe and perfect. The watermelon salad hit the spot on an excruciatingly hot day. Following that we got shrimp bruschetta and the marinated crab cake special over gazpacho and artichoke hearts. The bruschetta was delicious, but that crab cake was five star. With no room at all for dessert, we took in the charming decor, purchased a few items and made a note to come back asap. One note...the prices run about $20 per plate and the portions are fair, but modest be prepared to spend about $50-60 per person with a glass of wine and tip, but it is worth EVERY penny.

No A/C but they had fans inside and outside. It was a little warm following 4 hours on the golf course so A/C option would've been nice. I ordered the Patriot Burger and Onion rings. The burger was big and juicy and onion rings were great. I had a Hazy IPA and that worked well with the food. The bartender was cool and she let us sample a bunch of beers before choosing what we wanted. I'd go back but it would be nice to have multiple trucks and cooler options...literally.

What was supposed to be a relaxed family outing on a hot Saturday afternoon quickly turned sour…read moreafter we were made to feel judged and unwelcome -- all because our toddlers were... being toddlers. We visited Lazy Creek Taphouse on Saturday, June 21 from 4-7 PM with a small group of friends and family, including my two-year-old son and his friend. The atmosphere was surprisingly dead for a weekend -- just a few people at the bar inside -- so we stayed indoors due to the 90+ degree heat outside. The kids were simply running around playing, behaving appropriately for toddlers, with the occasional excited squeal you'd expect from two little ones having harmless fun. As we were getting ready to leave, I took the kids outside to play with trucks in the gravel. That's when my friend mentioned overhearing the plus-size female bartender speaking negatively about our children to other patrons -- complaining about the noise and making unwarranted comments. I confronted her about it directly, and rather than offering any kind of apology or professional response, she doubled down with an attitude. What's most disappointing is that Lazy Creek promotes itself as a *kid-friendly* establishment. If that's truly the case, the staff should treat children and their families with basic respect -- especially when the children are simply being playful and not disruptive. There's a big difference between genuine chaos and two toddlers running around having fun. If this place really wants to be "kid-friendly," the staff should either be trained to better handle the presence of children or stop advertising that it's a welcoming space for families. You're entitled to a kid-free evening -- but not a kid-free world. It's honestly a shame -- and hurtful -- to feel so unwelcome in a space that claims to support families. Now, we're left feeling judged and uncomfortable about ever coming back.

This place is truly a hidden gem! If you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out…read more My husband and I have officially made it one of our regular date night spots. It may be small, but it's packed with incredible customer service, warm ambiance, and delicious, mouthwatering food. I was especially impressed with the lobster rolls, the best I've had since Charleston. The lobster was fresh, sweet, and perfectly prepared. And let's talk about the bar! The drinks are perfectly poured and the bartenders are amazing, attentive, welcoming, and they make you feel right at home. Come hungry and be prepared to fall in love with a menu full of savory, scrumptious options. Between you and me, I might just have to try the whole thing.

Plenty of draft beer and a great cocktail/wine menu. We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning! What a gem!
