We've been driving around town looking for this place and finally found it. It's not hard - it's just a little out of the main drag of tourists spot, Main St. Find Industrial Loop off 290 and you will get there. Once you get there, the choices are enormous and oh, so tasty! We got here before they opened so we had the place to ourselves. We got to taste their sampler wares and that will whet your choco appetite! We went on a buying spree! Some are gifts but most will be our treat for our taste buds! What a yummy place. As for the service, they are as nice and helpful as they can be. Wow and wow!!

From the moment we walked through the door, Dan and Melanie made us feel like welcomed guests instead of customers. We were greeted immediately and escorted upstairs to a beautiful tasting room where we spent nearly two hours enjoying an unforgettable experience. Dan is one of the most knowledgeable and passionate business owners I've ever met. He walked us through not only each DKM wine and handcrafted chocolate pairing, but also the fascinating story behind how the business came to be and the meticulous process that goes into making every product. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine love for his craft were evident in every minute of the experience. And the products? Absolutely phenomenal. I can honestly say every single wine and every single chocolate was outstanding. The Moscato, sparkling wines, and red wines were all incredible. The chocolate pairings elevated everything even further. The turtles, brittle, chocolate-covered raisins, chocolate-covered strawberries... every bite was memorable. It was one of those rare experiences where you keep waiting for something to be "just okay," but it never happens because everything is exceptional. The factory itself is spotless, beautifully designed, and it's amazing being able to look through the windows and watch the production area where everything is made. The retail shop is equally impressive, filled with beautifully packaged chocolates, wines, gifts, and treats. We told ourselves we weren't going to buy much... that lasted about five minutes. There was simply no way we were leaving empty-handed. What impressed me most was the precision and care that Dan and Melanie have poured into every aspect of their business. From the presentation, to the storytelling, to the products themselves, every detail has been thoughtfully crafted. It's rare to find a place where the customer service is just as exceptional as the products, but Hill Country Chocolate absolutely delivers on both. If you're visiting Fredericksburg, do not skip this experience. Whether you're a wine lover, a chocolate lover, or just appreciate passionate business owners who genuinely care about giving guests an unforgettable experience, this is a must-do. Bravo, Dan and Melanie. Thank you for an incredible afternoon. We can't wait to come back and will be recommending Hill Country Chocolate to everyone we know. 5/5 without hesitation.

We shared a few bottles of rosé and spent way longer than we planned because the atmosphere was just so inviting. The wine bar is set inside a beautifully restored historic home, with several cozy rooms that make it feel like you're relaxing in someone's stylish living room rather than a typical wine bar. It has such a warm, welcoming vibe. We loved that they also have a piano bar with live music in the evenings, it would be such a fun place to spend an evening! The owner even stopped by our table to check on us, chat for a bit, and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. That personal touch really stood out and made us feel so welcome. Whether you're looking for a wine flight, a bottle to share with friends, or just a cozy place to unwind after shopping on Main Street, I highly recommend stopping by. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Fredericksburg!

The two stars is NOT for the piano player Pierson Keating, who is great, for whom I would give 5 Stars. For clarification I have had a total of 3 glasses of wine since noon and it's currently 7 o'clock and I am writing this review as I am leaving. I have a strong understanding of TABC rules and regulations, and this question was misplaced and pretty rude. Pierson, the pianist, asked my group to sing a song we requested because he was unsure of the lyrics, then the staff asked the group to sit down. Not sure if this place is catered to the older crowd or just not accustomed to having girls who like to have a good time, but I wouldn't come back here if you payed me. Staff 2.7/10. Food 6.7/10. Pianist 10/10.

Not sure how updated their inventory is as we were looking for Mama Mango or Mama Pomegranate & the store associate looked it up but said it wasn't in stock. She left & I was in the Moscato section & found the Mama Mango so we snagged a bottle. I had ordered a bottle of Ube Creme Liqueur as my friend texted that it was available so I ordered online for store pickup since I was in the area. I looked at the yummy Sauternes, a lot of which were rated 91+ pts! We have about 3 bottles at home so I just took note. I looked at the other liqueurs like Pistachios, Passion Fruit and the other fruity Moscatos I'd like to try someday. They even had Kosher wines & we were reading some of the labels which had Biblical names & titled. I'm usually buying some Caliveda Pinot Noir which is one of their best sellers. I stock up during the holidays when they have bundle deals. They have such an organized store and even have a Cigar area. They hold tasting classes in the back & upcoming ones will be for wine. We missed the Tequila tasting so we'll check another location. They have great deals as rewards members so sign up!

Awesome customer service. For that one dude. But it was poor customer service for the rest of us in line, who have been to stores before and were courteous enough to arrive at the checkout counter with ALL the merchandise we intended to purchase already. About three minutes into a game I like to call "8,000 bottles of wine - 1 impressively inefficient cashier on duty", I decided it would be best if I try to frequent businesses who are financially solvent enough to staff two or more cashiers during peak hours. So I saved time at checkout by...driving elsewhere and purchasing my goods. I'm hoping, but not overly confident, that by the time you read this review the lager situation is resolved.

At that time, there was nothing going on and nothing growing so we decided to come back around when spring was happening. So this time around, definitely more popular, more cars and people wanting to check the place out. Essentially I was expecting this to be more of a field of flowers. But, it's basically that (although there wasn't much of it yet, just some flowers to see) and garden decor, pots, gifts, wine, pickled things, plants and LOTS of wildflower seeds to plant at home. The plants, some were decently priced, most were a little pricier. Just depends on which ones. Majority of the ones we wanted were a little better price wise vs going to home depot, at least we think so! We walked around the adventure trail (since it was free) to get some steps in and have the kids burn some of their energy out while roaming around (minus my toddler, she would want to run away and fast haha so I changed my mind on that idea). The trail itself was open, spacious and a great way to get some fresh air. You can be lucky enough to catch some glimpses of some flowers that could be sprouting out even though there's not much! The shops: they had different types of store fronts, one for food/snack/pickled items alongside a small cafe where you can order beer and wine, another for more accessories, clothing and some planting items too! They had standing wine tasting area near the trail walking area if you want to walk around with some wine. Parking: so much parking, so definitely not to worry although I can image it being more difficult when the flowers really bloom in their field.
