I went there around 12 so it wasn't packed or anything, Salí took care of me and she was a sweetheartttt. I have only gotten my brows done about 3-4 times now and each time it would of course be painful but she was very delicate with it and surprisingly made it to be painless for me. She just did a clean up on me but she has been doing this for 28 years and only a part timer here, I would definitely recommend her to anyone! She did my shape so well and made it very smooth

LITERAL HAIR MAGIC -- I AM OBSESSED!!!…read more Let me just say this: if you're looking for hair transformation royalty, you can stop scrolling, cancel your other appointments, and RUN -- don't walk -- to Kylie because this is not just a hair appointment... it's a religious experience. ‍ I came in with dull, lifeless hair and left looking like I stepped out of a Vogue editorial meets golden goddess dreamscape. Kylie has created the most INSANE dimension in my hair with expertly placed highlights and lowlights -- I swear, it's like my strands are catching light from within. The natural blending? Flawless. Seamless. Undetectable. My hair doesn't look colored -- it looks BORN THIS WAY. ‍ And let's talk about the blonde... OH. MY. GOD. Not brassy, not ashy -- just a perfectly radiant, customized champagne-honey-gold masterpiece that somehow makes my skin glow and my eyes pop like I'm permanently in golden hour lighting. Then came the cut and blowout, and I swear I almost cried. My hair has movement, volume, bounce -- and dare I say... a new personality. It flows like a shampoo commercial and smells like angels. Not only is Kylie a technical genius, but she is also a total sweetheart -- professional, attentive, and she listens like your hair hopes and dreams actually matter. Because here, THEY DO. I've had great hair before, but this? This is life-altering. I left the salon flipping my hair in every reflective surface and getting stopped by strangers asking who does my color. 10/10. No -- 100/10. I'm never letting anyone else touch my hair again. Thank you Kylie for changing my life one highlight at a time. ‍

I chose Shimmer Salon because it was close to my home and had good reviews. I was able to schedule my haircut online with Yelina. I loved everything about my first time visit with Yelina that I have been back two other times for haircuts with her. The salon is on the main floor of this old house and I love that, like many businesses in Ocala. It is always clean and neat when I visit. Yelina always does a great job with shampooing, conditioning, and cutting my hair. Yelina also always finds a way to keep the volume in my hair and cut it so it looks like a new haircut for at least a month afterwards. Yelina is also quick, maybe because I'm simple with my requests. There are several other hair stylists here and they also have a tattoo studio. They have blowout memberships and products for sale. The hours are better than most salons in the area and they have their own parking lot. FYI, if you are staring at the building from the street, it's the lot on the left side, not next to the apartment complex.

The lady didn't ask what I needed and I guess it was wrong for me to assume that she knew I needed a clean up as I said I came in with thick beautiful eyebrows but when I got out of the chair and looked in the mirror pretty much half of the hair of my eyes brow were straight up gone. She had the audacity to say that I came in with thin eyebrows and I showed her a selfie I took this morning and she had the nerve to ask me "oh those are your eyebrows?" And I'm like yes that's me in the picture isn't it??? I asked if she can fill them in a little in which now look like a damn clown. Do not recommend.

Worst nail salon I've ever been to. This business is money hungry and does NOT do the right thing…read morefor the customer. I came in and showed the front desk the ripples/bubbles on all my nails. I've never had my nails look like that and they were only 2 weeks old. They seemed to understand my concern, so I was under the impression they were just fixing my nails. When the tech reapplied the original color I chose, it would not cure- it looked rippled again, and easily wiped right off of both hands. He told me there was something wrong with the polish and to choose a different color. He rushed the polish this time, didn't even file my nails, then walked me to checkout and I could see him change the screen from "gel repair- $0.00" to "gel color change- $30.00". That's what I paid originally!! It was confirmed it was a product problem when the same original color couldn't be applied again today, not just normal wear and tear. Having to pay DOUBLE for a service that should've lasted DOUBLE the time isn't good customer service. I would have just waited until I was normally due for a polish change if it was communicated that I had to pay AGAIN for a half-ass service. Any other nail salon would've waved me on my way and gotten my business back next time! I even said I was happy to just leave a tip, but they still wouldn't budge on having to paying for the polish change. It shouldn't be that difficult to do the right thing in rare circumstances. Avoid this salon!!
