I am a healthy male by objective standards. Blood pressure and weight in the healthy range. On NO heart, weight or blood pressure medications. My real issue was being required to provide all my insurance information in advance before the appointment... sending digital images of my cards, and then receiving a $1,273 out of pocket charge bill, including more than $500 for an initial office visit charge. A ~ $75 X-ray charge seemed reasonable though for a toe that I had stubbed and seemed to be slow and healing. I declined the referral for physical therapy on the toe. SMH. I called the office to discuss the exorbitant bill. And explained that I thought medicare would cover almost everything in it. They acted like they didn't know.I said I would be following up with medicare myself and expected they would be doing the same. Called back a month later and found out they'd dropped the ball again.And nothing had been done to confirm the amounts that medicare allowed. They acted like they didn't know I had insurance, and Medicare coverage. Of course.I got the run around saying it was the claims department fault, not billing department's fault. I reminded "Casey" that this reflects negatively on the doctor. I asked who should be held accountable, and she didn't like the question or the way she was being talked to so she hung up on me.

After we waited ten hours... The nurse who was primary for actually interacting with patients, was very positive and active, and instrumental in caring for patients stressed and in need of a good bedside manner. The supervising nurse behind the desk was clearly grumpy. And bring your own warm clothes or blankets.

He reminds me of Dr. Pike with his "bed side manor". I've seen several of the other podiatrists at the Easley location, the ones I've seen are only ok to me. My diagnosis was later identified with PCR/ molecular testing. I had a slow growing, unusual mold infection that was life threatening. Fungal culture doesn't always grow out organisms. If this doctor had been a good listener and truly wanted to help me he could have gotten the state or CDC involved to see why my skin had become black and why I had lesions on my skin. So many times minorities are treated very badly by physicians and ignored. I would not recommend Dr Peterson.
