On the day of my appointment -- half an hour before I expected the call -- I got a phone call telling me I had to come in person. I could NOT, which is the reason I scheduled on the phone... I was told the cancellation wouldn't be held against me. The front desk lady fumbled around on the schedule and scheduled an in person visit for two days later. I woke up to more news about the measles outbreak and decided it was unsafe to go in person as I have a five month old baby who would have to come with me. Just a few hours later I received a MyChart letter addressed by Brittany Ellis, NP (thought this was fairly unprofessional. Why not use the clinic name?) telling me I was no longer welcome to schedule there because I "canceled" two visits. I canceled ONE visit. They allowed me to schedule a phone appointment and then told me "OOPS! Not sure why it let you do that!" Just very much annoyed I was told the first cancellation wouldn't be held against me since the system allowed it to be scheduled in error. I cannot find good primary care in the upstate and this continues to be true. Cannot wait to move.

She has listened to everything we say and treated us with so many different problems. I don't think I have ever had a more thorough and caring PCP. I also love the staff. Everyone is so kind and professional and I appreciate all the people in that group. They stay busy, but my husband and I never feel rushed. It means so much for a physician to listen to their patients. Sonja Bowman

She also said the doctor only does one new patient appointment per day when I asked for a back-to-back appointment with my husband. Receptionist tried to discourage me from seeing same doctor as my husband even though she had no idea why I wanted that. This doctor may be great, but I will never know-- no chance to make an appointment. This receptionist's handling of my call just cost this practice the revenue stream from two new patients. Seems like they do not care. Frustrating. If I could have put no stars, I would have. I wonder if the doctor knows how the front office is handling calls.

Dr. Baldea has been my doctor for six years…read more She is thorough and examines me annually and as needed throughout the year. If I call in they always fit me in and I've always been treated well. She professionally gets to the bottom of an illness or injury. Always sending immediate referrals as needed. I recommend this doctor and practice for your whole family.

My doctor is very good. BUT the practice is managed very poorly, dangerously in my opinion…read more Messages to your doctor are read by / replied to by various office staff. I've had two significant issues with communications to my doctor. My most recent experience was that the office staff did not know my doctor had changed my medication and didn't convey that to me when I reached then (a day after the new medication was sent to the pharmacy). Two different office staff were contentious about having the nurse call me back. I insisted. When we spoke I discovered that my doctor had changed my medication. The people reading and answering the emails on MyChart had no clue what my doctor had done or either they neglected to let me know of the changed medication. In addition, they created a post dated email chain to cover their oversight. Any of these is unacceptable if you are to believe you're communicating with and being cared for by your doctor or their nurse. Practice management at Coventry Primary Care RISKS patients' health, IMHO. My doctor is great.., BUT if you want to be assured that the intended doctor or nurse received your communication, in my experience, it must be by US mail since it"s unlawful to open mail addressed to someone else. Using MyChart, there is no telling who reads the email you think you're sending to your doctor or whether the message you needed to get to them was ever delivered. Oh, and there is no calling the practice directly. All calls are routed through an offshore call center that you must go through and they determine whether or not you can talk to someone in the practice. Again, only my experience, my opinion. But based on two significant issues revolving around poor and inaccurate communication, I would look elsewhere for a doctor.

I had a combination of auto-immune disorders which had been overlooked by my former mainstream PCP and endocrinologist for decades. Like most doctors, they would only spend 15 minutes per session with patients - and they spent most of it looking at a computer screen, not at me. There is no deep dive. Dr. Shiffman's integrative medicine practice is exactly the opposite. She is patient and kind and listens carefully to the patient. She focuses on the whole health of the body, not merely prescribing a pill to treat a symptom. She took the time to connect the dots and see the big picture of my health, in a way other doctors never had. Her vision is that the practice of medicine should enable the body to thrive, not merely survive. As a direct result, I am much healthier than I was 10 years ago and more optimistic about the future. I wish everyone had the opportunity to experience this high level of medical care.

The previous review is very unfortunate both in content and the reviewer's experience. However, I am quite sure there is much more to this story than the reviewer is choosing to tell. Calling other people "monsters" on Yelp is completely ridiculous. They are unable to defend themselves or comment on HIPAA related issues on this site. That is childish. I encourage anyone who wants to improve their health to reach out and see for themselves. Don't take my word or the previous reviewer's word for it just because you are reading our comments on the internet.

The Cypress Internal Medicine - Patewood group are the primary providers for my daughter and son-in-law and we reached out to them for help. I was given a appointment in a very reasonable time frame and saw Joanna S. Reeves, FNP-C. I could not have chosen a better provider. she is a very intelligent, compassionate person who did not rush me at all throughout the visit. she covered all my areas of concern and helped to co-ordinate my necessary follow-up care. Not only was she wonderful, but the entire office staff was very pleasant with lovely smiles and a very helpful attitude. In short this office is everything that I could ask in a primary care office. I did not mention that I am a retired physician and perhaps more critical and demanding of physicians service. Even with this fact, they are a superlative office. I will be using them when ever I am in SC as I visit my family here frequently.

Then he told me to go to my other appointments! An apology for his lateness was never received--as if my time and schedule was unimportant. Never have I experienced such treatment from any doctor. Needless to say, I'll never return.
