I scheduled an appointment with this company and 7PM the night before I get a call from Mark saying he had an appointment before ours and then he had another meeting in North Auburn scheduled 2 hours after our appointment so he would only have 1 hour to meet. We have over 25 windows so 1 hour would not be enough time. I asked why he was calling, did he want to cancel or was he going to bump someone else. He said the other appointment was scheduled before mine and he couldn't change. A very strange call from a company with the opportunity we are providing. He did say it is very busy in Spring and it is just a challenge this time of year. My time is valuable and I don't have time for a company that doesn't have time for me. Sounds like they have a major scheduling problem based on other reviews. read more

No pressure sales guy, nice folks answering phones for customer service, great and easy install (30 minutes!!!) and it was pay 1/2 when I ordered and the other half when they delivered. We love the blind guys. The quality and service is awsome. We had our blinds installed back in 2004 and in 14 years we have only had 2 service calls for minor wear and tear problems. We had been planning on making a service call but then my husband spotted the blind guy's Van in our neighborhood. Like several of the other reviewers for the Blind Guy, I too was stood up for a scheduled appointment. Actually, two in two consecutive days! Chris Kirby was the representative. It seems, again based on other reviews here, he makes a standard practice of wasting other people's time. He didn't even call to say he wasn't going to make it for either appointment. Bad enough the first time but to do it again the very next day. Wow. Can you be any more self-centered?!! The thing I don't get is I have purchased blinds from Chris before so this would have been a lay down sale for him. Just take the order. Something he was totally aware of as I told him as much on the phone. Well, I am more than happy to give my money to another company that appreciates their customers. So far as the name Blind Guy, is that name ever on the mark: blind to consideration of others. Adios Blind Guy- No doubt you never saw me walk away nor all the future customers that read reviews. Update I would like anyone reading this to know that after I wrote that review I was contacted by Blind Guy. They had the rep that stood me up call me, apologize, and who then also offered me a bit of a discount on my future purchase if I would remove the review. So okay, appreciated the effort on Blind Guys behalf but, I dunno, just felt like looking elsewhere for my blinds as I am soured on them. But that said, they did do a decent job the first time I had them install. But for others, I wouldn't not use them. Thirteen months ago, I was looking to replace the "up-down, bottom-up", Levolor honeycomb blinds that I had only owned for a year and a half. I was awaiting a refund from Levolor as I vehemently disagreed with their verbal (not written) expectation of having to adjust them on a daily basis to keep them properly maintained (too many windows and no housekeepers made this unreasonable LOL). After reading reviews I decided to make my first appointment with "The Blind Guy". I found both Chris (installer) and the receptionist I spoke with to be very sympathetic to my frustrations with Levolor and informative about their own product. As I felt comfortable with them, I didn't feel I had to schedule appointments with their competitors; these were the people I wanted to work with. A year ago, I completed their company review and gave them all the highest scores and really, my complaint has nothing to do with the individuals themselves - I still find them to be completely courteous and professional, or the quality of the product, which I am also pleased with. Yesterday, however, I found myself at odds with the cost to come out and complete a repair. In the last month, one of my blinds was unable to be raised due to one a cord coming loose from its plastic washer. As a stay-at-home Mom of a rambunctious toddler, I simply wished to make it easy on myself and make use of the lifetime guarantee on the blinds. $150 to come out and attempt a repair or to be a liaison between manufacturer and dealer! Sure, they'll repair up to three for that charge but I'm not interested in waiting for another two to need repair - after having spent a few thousand on these blinds, it gnaws at me that one isn't working. I'm sure I was made aware of the repair charge at the time of purchase, although that was a year ago and I don't recall it having been brought to my attention. I also can't say if this repair fee is any better or worse than what other businesses charge. I can say that $150 means A LOT more to me today than it did a year ago when my husband and I were both working. After making the appointment, I decided to try to make the repair myself - I knew what was wrong, as I stated previously, I just wanted to make it easier on myself. I latched onto the cord with a crochet hook through the honeycomb, untied the knot to pull it out, slipped on an embroidery needle and threaded it through. After reattaching the cord to the plastic washer - it works just fine again. If I'd have kept the appointment, it would have been like paying someone $150 to sew on a shirt button. Based on the individuals I've worked with and the overall quality of the product they carry, I still rate them at three stars and would still recommend keeping them in the mix if you're researching dealers for blinds. If the $150 repair bill seems shocking, however, please learn from my mistake and don't hang your hat on the peace of mind of a lifetime guarantee without making yourself aware of the repair cost. As for myself, in the future, I'll make sure that a repair is completely beyond my ability before I make an appointment to have someone assist me with it. read more

BEWARE they took our deposit and never even ordered the blinds. We have written countless emails and called more times than we can count. We've had to hire a lawyer. He scheduled a delivery for Saturday and he and his partner came and quickly installed the 20+ vinyl shutters that we requested. They are beautiful and block a significant amount of light when needed!! We are very happy with our selection and our home now feels complete. They appear durable and easy to clean and my husband commented they make him feel like it belongs in an Italian villa.
