Over priced. They say fair market price, maybe if the item was new. Not as many customers shopping as in previous years....

The building is gorgeous. They have great items and it varies in price. I would give five stars but when I asked a staff member if an item was in working condition she could not tell me nor did she offer to try to see if it was. Otherwise, very friendly staff and I love looking around. read more

My very first time here and I really enjoyed shopping here. I spent over an hour just browsing before making my final purchase. The store is neat and organized with lots of decor that is all set up by colors. That made it easier for me to coordinate with what I was looking for. I would highly recommend a visit. read more

Store is clean and organized but they need to assign a person who is in touch with reality to price these items. They are very over priced even for antique store prices. Their practice of over-pricing leaves a bad taste in my mouth toward this church. read more

When the barn first opened there were great finds for the home for reasonable and more than fair prices. I am finding as time goes by, the prices have really gone through the roof for what is being offered. There really aren't any deals now. I guess that if you did not know any better and were a first timer you would think that it is a fantastic place but it is a mere shadow of what it was. It was a very nice local diamond in the rough. I understand the proceeds go to charity but it has become somewhat overpriced considering that all items are donated. Sadly the barn has become a bit pretentious. Not the fan that I once was. The Blessing Barn in Milford has stayed relatively the same (less than quality items). The better items get sent to the Mendon store where they can get more money as there is a definite difference in clientele who go to Milford and those who go to Mendon. I went to the Blessing Barn awhile back, a couple of times just to make sure that I hadn't gone there on a day that someone had over priced things. But, sadly, the same old high pricing was still there. This is nuts! Folks who go to a thrift shop usually go there because they can't afford to always buy items/clothes in a regular retail store. I am a big fan of thrift shops, and so am very observant of where the reasonable prices are. None of the clothing I looked at were worth the high price they were trying to sell the pieces for. I can go over to another large thrift shop, nearby, and find something just as nice for two to three times less in price! Great that the monies go to charity but for good thrift shops Charity works BOTH ways....for both the buyers and the recipients. I will not be going there again; complete waste of time. read more

Very expensive, very disappointed, many items are overpriced. I'm sure the Blessing barns heart is in the right place and they do help many people, however keep in mind that many people who shop thrift stores are those that cannot afford the price of items new. The items the store has for sale have been donated. I am sure if prices were more in line with used items they would move more merchandise and increase sales. read more

I visited for the first time today. I made no purchases. The store was nicely set up and had a great atmosphere. I understand that the money goes towards good use. I just found the prices way too high for what the items were. The thing I would go back for though would be the Christmas room in the basement. The Blessing Barn is an amazing place to find furniture, glassware, linens,home goods in general & vintage items ! Everything is arranged by category which makes items easy to find. There are three floors and a basement full of everything including wedding dresses to baby clothes, toys & books. The store is very clean and visually appealing and I found the merchandise to be very reasonably priced. The staff ,including Marilyn, the store manager and Sherie, the executive director is amazingly helpful by explaining what this non-profit does, its goals and missions. Shopping here is a win-win for the consumer and for all of the wonderful projects that its revenue serves. Make the trip...it is worth it!! read more

This place is awesome !! You can find all sorts of things there. I went for a desk. (Not sure if anyone could help me to my SUV ) But takin measurements the desk was 2a little bigger than I could handle. Going back next week and hopefully the desk will still be there. But I toured the barn and found all kind of neat things. I will be back for sure. (With a truck this time ). read more

Honestly I love this business but they closed early the day before Thanksgiving and that's totally fine- however the lady that came out of the building to tell me they were closed was condescending and rude, and I don't appreciate being treated that way by a business I frequent. read more

The Blessing Barn is a GREAT place. The selection is honestly a bit overwhelming in terms of how much there is to see, but that's great. In addition, proceeds from the sales help others which for me is a selling point. My mother shops there often an that's how I found out about it. The selection ranges from higher end items to every day household items and I actually found the prices to be better than some really well known thrift shops. The decor and set up if very similar to Anthropologie and they've been smart to merchandise everything appropriately. I highly suggest going there and keeping in mind that they have programs to help outfit those in the community who are in need. read more

I'm not from the immediate area but have travel route 16 every now and then. Today tasks took me through Mendon and I was surprised to see the Mendon Gift Barn had closed . I stopped to see the Blessing Barn and was pleasantly surprised to find a well arranged thrift store which donate all profits to local charites . I was greeted by a enthusiastic staff person who shared the store's mission and explained the store's directory (product mix and which floor to look). Not sure how prices compare to other consignment and thrift shops but the Blessing Barn offers mostly household, goods, some furniture, and records albums rather than family clothing (The exception is a small fine women wear department on floor 2.) A Christmas department is also located on the basement floor. read more

This is a lovely place to browse if you enjoy things of yesteryear. Some have described the pricing as high. I have frequented antique shops and find that they have done their homework and know the value of what they have. It is not really a thrift store. They do have a bonafide thrift store in the Biglots plaza in Milford. This is eye-candy and a very special place to browse and perhaps shop. The coffee bar is unique and inviting. I was in today and browsed for 2 hours. I found a very beautiful jewelry box with a price of $7.00. I put it down in the customer hold area and continued to shop. I returned to finalize my purchases and the cashier took the box from my hands and said that the box was a very expensive piece, it was alabaster. She asked me how much the box was. I said there was a sticker for $7.oo I found this in the basement area. She said NO the box is worth $40.00 and proceeded to put the box on the side. NEVER asking me if I still wanted to purchase it after she arbitrarily took it upon herself to place a price on the box for $40. That was not the price on the box prior to me putting it in the holding area. She asked me where the price was and I told her it was on the box and she said no it was not there and continued to say this box should never have been put downstairs and they need to pay attention to prices. She never asked me if I still wanted to purchase the box nor did she indicate she changed the price, but I was so shocked by her behavior I was speechless. I thought her behavior was in bad taste. My friend told her we wanted it. When I opened it to look at it there were 2 stickers on it at $40 that were not there when I placed it in the holding area. Now I know that the box had a sticker on it for $7.00. We did purchase the box for $40 but her behavior toward us was unprofessional. I was embarrassed at the register and also very disappointed with the service. read more

While driving through the western reaches of Rhode Island questing for the perfect couch, I was referred to this place by the woman behind the counter at The Town Seller in Chepachet. She practically promised me that I would find a couch there. I had some time to kill and had already made it to Chepachet through Johnston coming from North Providence. GPS said 30 PM minutes, ok whatever I'll go. So I drove through the woods and I pull in to a good sized and pock marked dirt parking lot next to a pallatial barn in a small mill village. Really, this place is huge. It was like walking in to a ritzy boutique by the beach in Newport but huge. Everything was laid out beautifully. Many 2nd hand stores are so over cluttered but this one because of the space and attention to merchandising doesn't have that feeling. There were many living room chairs, dining sets, beds, dish sets, kitchen odds and ends, bedroom dressers of all vintages, dining room hutches, clothing, toys, books, and a few couches the best of which was being held for someone... ick... the prices on the couches were a little high I have to admit but I am not a connoisseur of consignment shopping. They do have 3 floors of merchandise. The clearance furniture is on the 2nd floor, christmas items and more toys, which they had on all 3 floors, in the basement. I saw a couch that they wanted $200 for that was an ugly plaid. It was located in the clearance area so I asked if it indeed was the price. I was told I could make an offer and negotiate a price and that they could hold it for 1 week. I didn't care for it that much and couldn't make that decision then anyway so I didn't find my couch. However for $30 I found 2 corningware dishes with lids and 11 8 oz drink glasses for $30. I was happy. read more

Wow! These folks think they are running a boutique! Overpriced is putting it mildly. They do not understand that people are NOT there to contribute to their charities, they are there to shop. But this store makes it impossible for anyone to shop here with the ridiculous prices. People are always looking at the merchandise, which is used and donated, but nobody ever actually buys anything here, and now I know why. In 40 minutes everyone I observed leaving left empty handed. If they would price items fairly and honestly, then people would actually buy the stuff so it wouldn't collect dust sitting on the shelves. Whoever is responsible for pricing these items needs to be replaced by someone who actually lives on this planet and in this time period. I will be back next year for my annual walk through and I am sure I will see the same stuff still there. Sad... read more
