There are so many cool vintage things at this 3 floor vintage and antiques Mecca. Most items are reasonably priced. I picked up a 90s Christie's Auction catalog for $1. I would've bought more, but I am between apartments. The women at checkout were very helpful and pleasant. I have been before and I will return to check out the 3rd floor. read more

Quite a large place filled with treasures and junk a like. It was a joy to walk through the 3 floors of stuff and browse. Prices were all over the map but overall I spent 1.5 hours looking around and would definitely recommend this place. read more

I've been here a few times now and each time I have found some wonderful pieces! The staff is very helpful and friendly, I love that they have multiple bathrooms, AND you can buy something to drink as you get thirsty perusing all the many vintage and antique items! I've only made it to 2 floors lol. I'll be back there soon for another round! I've been to many antique stores and love ones like this that have so much space and stuff to look through. It's very organized and I have to admit I do enjoy walking around just exploring to see what they have. Some of the areas are becoming a little bit readdecorating style. Not all antique items. Sorry but I just came home from this "high class" interior decorator's paradise and noticed on the bottom of the piece of cracked wood I purchased, thinking it was old, is actually a modern worn out wood Pilar candle tray. I have since figured out what the hidden label had to say on the bottom dead center where the price was taped over. (I didn't even notice there was a label present until I got home, because it was hidden) Is this a respectible antiques market or just another high price thrift store? So the piece of wood I mulled over for an hour, wondering if it was old is clearly not. (certainly it's heavy use gave me the appearance that it is. However,The label which I had to scan to read "Keep away from children - for use with pilar candles", was made practically invisible because it had been colored over brown to match the wood. (see the pic) Again, to be clear, the price sticker hid this label until it was pulled off when purchased at the register, which was then bagged....if I had seen a label on it while shopping, I would have put it down and moved on. Certainly they made a fool out of me making me not knowing there was a label. (AM I at Savers? Is this a flea market?) Kinda tricky if you ask me. So as a matter of principle I was about to make the 20 minute drive to return it, fuddling around without any luck looking for the receipt, came to the realization, I paid cash and did not get a receipt, or it was left in the crumpled 2nd hand bag I left at the counter. If this is how business is done, I am no longer bothering making any future visits. The only piece I picked out in the whole place walking around for 3 hours and I was tricked. I don't like to be duped so writing this review. I just don't shop in places with these "ethics". I expect this at a thrift store, not from antiques dealers. & the photo posted is the tag which I had to brighten drastically just to make out some of what it says. Wow. If you have four or five hours to spare over the weekend, you can lose them wandering around Bernat Antiques. Much like the Tardis, this quintessential Blackstone Valley mill building is so much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. There are just two floors to Bernat -- the main floor, plus the labyrinthine downstairs -- but it's packed with vendor booths that are overflowing with treasures, so you'll want to take your time. Some vendors have new/gift items in heir booths, like socks, gloves, tote bags, paints, candles, and soaps. But most of the vendors fill their booths with true antiques and vintage items. And there's a bit of everything, whatever you're looking for: glass and kitchen ware, jewelry, furniture, lights, children's toys... Heck, I even spotted some old agricultural equipment (your next statement piece?) and what must've been the largest stainless steel bowls in the world. Prices can vary from one vendor to the next, but there are definitely deals to be had. I did see one or two vendors hanging out in/near their booths to answer questions. But you pay for everything at the cash register up front, and they'll call vendors for you if you have questions about pricing, etc. read more

Tucked away in a rural neighborhood, sits this old brick mill building with a towering smoke stack. Inside are two floors of consignment booths filled with eclectic stuff of various price points, none of which were over the top - all fair. Will definitely be back when I have more time! According to the woman working the counter there is another large vendor space close by called Stanley mill, though I don't see it on yelp. Google it and you'll find their site. Close by. I went once before with my husband and we loved it! We found our bar cart and two desk chairs for a great bargain. While we were their the owner cashed us out and we were able to haggle the price down a bit. I think that's always part of the thrift experience. However the last time I went the owner was not there and the woman working the register completely denied us the chance to cut down the price even with all the items we were purchasing. She said since it wasn't her booth she didn't feel comfortable haggling the price. This is understandable from her end but it is a thrift market type of feel in some booths and haggling is always part of the experience. If you can do it once you should at least be able to do it every time you go in. Perhaps they could make a sheet where each vendor gave a max discount they would go to if someone asks to cut the price after buying a bunch of items/ putting firm price on the items they won't budge on the price. I know most vendors put the firm price on their tags and it works perfect as someone who wants to buy it knows they can't get any discount. read more

As a young person I find coming here each time always enjoyable. I love the eclectic groups of things to look at some pricey yet most very affordable! I never leave empty handed. Great place to kill time, relax, look at interesting things and purchase stuff you'd never find in a mall. The staff is always so friendly and helpful! Great place! read more

The woman at the register would not honor the sticker price on one of the items were trying to purchase they attempted to call the person who was selling the item but that person did not answer the phone if they call twice very disappointing to travel an hour look to a store for almost 2 hours and not be able to purchase all the items we wanted. read more

This place is where I channel my inner Joanna Gaines. They have so much rustic and antique decorations to choose from. I actually have purchased a couple furniture and decoration pieces that look so lovely (I'll post pics). They deliver for a small fee for furniture if you live near Uxbridge. I have found a vintage chemical bottle that I absolutely adore and makes my inner scientist geek full of joy. They also have those antique wooden crates which are perfect if your'e trying to capture farmhouse style in your home. The staff members are always polite and easy to talk to and they were helpful in carrying some of the heavier pieces into my car since I had a toddler in tow. They have two floors of goodies so if you didn't find anything interesting in the first floor, they have more in the basement. I also love that they close later in the weekday (7pm) which allows me to stop by after work and do some shopping. read more

This is by far, my favorite antique store. It seems that mostly everything is reasonably priced and I always leave with several finds.

This gem has steadily improved over the last few years and is now my #1 spot to go on a drive. I didn't want to let them have the #1 go to spot in my heart, but I just do SO WELL here every single time I go. Bernat isn't overwhelmingly crowded, so I don't have to be worried about tripping or breaking anything. Now that the temperature seems to be controlled, I'm willing to go during the summer and winter extremes. Two thumbs up! read more

This is a multiseller antique mall so the selection varies by dealer. There are some gems to be found, but also primitive, hippy, faux-tiques that were made in China. Most of the good stuff is up front and dealers get progressively worse in the back. read more

Multi-dealer shop so I like that and it is pretty big, nice pieces in the front but also in the basement level. I have bought a small white chair, piece of framed art, two small step ladders-for a kids room, and an outside chair with cushion. I have seen nice dressers and some tables as well but did not buy them. This shop is somewhat close to where I live and I try to stop in once a month! Worth a visit! read more

We have been visiting this gem of an antiques store for many years going back to time WHEN located at the Bernat mills before major fire. We followed to Northbridge location and now Elmdale Road for at least 7 or 8 years. Almost ALWAYS find a little gem it treasure to take home. Most staff generally friendly helpful but not pushy. We spend at least an hour when we visit and enjoy our experiences. Have generally purchased smaller pieces of vintage furniture that we can take home ourselves. It seems many dealers will charge nearly the cost of larger furnishings to deliver (we live northern RI). paying $200-250 for delivering a $175 or 200 piece of furniture is so out of line and poor business practice we have sadly had to leave things there as items simply were NOT worth in essence twice the price! We have shopped in places such as these since being married 30 years to SAVE $$$ and have nice older items at same time. Overall it's a great place to browse get decor ideas and all kinds of items for home. Our 20 something son and GF now tag along regularly to find treasures of their own. Fun! read more

Many of the prices are very reasonable, depending on the individual seller, and there is a huge selection. 2 floors, and BOATLOADS of furniture. Not sure what the other reviewer was referring to with regard to the less sought after dealers being located in the back. I found wonderful items upstairs, downstairs, front and back. I enjoyed perusing this multi dealer establishment. The place had antiques as well as crafty primitive home decor. The top floor was more enjoyable due to the fact that the man working was smoking at the back door with it OPEN! The whole downstairs smelled like an ashtray and exhaust fumes and we had to leave.
