I found this restaurant in between my walk from the tram & the Maldron (where I was staying), & im glad I did. I ordered from the d'hôte menu because I couldn't decide. I didn't eat or drink anything bad the entire time I was in Dublin, & this place certainly didn't disappoint. I had vegetable soup, pork medallions, & profiteroles. I didn't care for the filling in the profiteroles, but they were decent once I squeezed some of the cream out. Everything else I ate was great & surprisingly flavorful. read more

We tried the garlic bread for appetizer which is diff from how we were accustomed to but still enjoyable. For entrees we had the steak mafia style and risotto. Both were prepared nicely and very tasty. They have a good amount of seating & take reservations. They offer steaks, burgers, pasta and seafood. Something for everyone here. read more

This was a pretty laughable service. Went to use the ladies' restrooms and turns out BOTH sinks are out of order and "use the disabled restrooms". Natsy and terrible sanitation regulations already violated there. From there, ordered the chili nachos which was too spicy for my liking, but it probably was the best part of the night. Waited for about 50 minutes for our meals to come out. I ordered the vegetable yakisoba noodles which they gave me the plate empty separate from the meal in the beginning. They came later with the skillet to scoop it into my plate. The noodles were slimy and the vegetables seemed ok, until I swallowed one of then that just had this bitter taste. That was it for my appetite. I didn't even bother to finish my plate. My dad ordered a chicken meal and said it was over cooked and literally had the texture of rubber. The best part was getting out of there which thankfully didn't take another hour to get. There was a couple earlier that was sitting next to us that we witnessed waiting for forever to get their bill. Try at your own risk and a lot of patience, otherwise, I would say you're better off going some place else to dine. read more

We used a great deal through Dealrush. €45 for 2 course for two, bottle of wine and 2 cinema tickets so in terms of value you couldn't beat that. Chicken wings to start for me followed by steak and mash - massive portions and gorgeous! My husband had the burger and fries... There wasn't a crumb left! We'll be back!!!! read more

It's remarkable that in these hard times we still somehow manage to find the money to fill our bellies at a swanky restaurant while cheering ourselves up at the not inconsiderable expense of the wine list. Well, we all have to eat and logically it does make sense to spend money on good food instead of begrudgingly handing over our hard earned pennies to some random barman. So, with the beginning of September and the beginning of an early winter I needed some cheering up in the food department and as my little sister needed even more cheering up than I did I invited her along to the new local restaurant which I've heard nothing but good things about. One of the better things I heard was that the prices are pretty amazing for the quality you get plus it's right beside the Luas stop so you don't need to give a taxi driver half your wages when he invariably gets lost on the way home! First impressions of the restaurant were surprisingly good with a warm glow from tasteful mood lights offset by the efficient service of the impeccably mannered staff. The food was, of course, the best part! My stuffed mushrooms were perfectly seasoned and dressed beautifully, just the right amount for a starter and in no way too filling. The sisters goat's cheese was a work of art and we spent more time talking about it than she spent eating it - it was really that good! For main course we answered the call of the primitive inside us and ordered up a round of medium-rare steaks which came exactly as ordered but unusually for a steak restaurant they came sitting on a bed of perfectly wonderful mash and a generous sprinkling of mushrooms along with very decent fries. At first I thought they had made a mistake and given us extra sides but they were included in the price of the steak! Amazing! Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but we certainly had money left had we wanted one . It's remarkable that such good food can be sold for slightly more than what Eddie Rockets charges for a crappy burger. All this and right on our doorstep! :o) read more

The food here is great! I ordered the Pan-Fried Sea Bass, served with pea risotto and chorizo. The risotto was nice and creamy with hidden juicy sundried tomatoes in it. The bass was a little overcooked but was a great dish. My companion was really happy with her steak. Dessert was delicious, we shared a bread and butter pudding and a sticky toffee pudding. The house red was nice too. The staff were a little less prompt and efficient as I would have liked, but all in all I will revisit here. read more

Myself and my family had been regular visitor's to rge blazing grill however the last few visits had not been a good experience. On the last visit we waited for over 45 mins on our main courses and when the food came out it was disappointing. We just had lunch there today. I picked it because it was a steak house, I was looking forward to a good steak! The service was friendly and helpful. I can't understand the restaurant being called steakhouse and seafood restaurant ! There was a choice of a 5 oz minute steak or a burger and a choice of two types of fish on the menu! My 5 oz steak was more like a 2 oz and was probably the reason it came well done as opposed to medium rare! The burgers and sauces were enjoyed. Overall the place seemed a bit run down the seating needs to be recovered and there is no on street parking . read more

This place was a pleasant surprise - without sounding like a complete snob we had relatively low expectations for this place - not for any reason other than it's far out of the city & it's few & far between that you find a gem outside of town. But we were going to a show in the Civic Theatre & with limited knowledge of the area we decided to give it a bash! I had the chicken wings to start & my hubby had the ribs. The wings were delicious! So often people try the vinegary-style hot sauce & get it wrong - this place had their own take on hot sauce which was delicious! The ribs were completely their own style too - opting for bacon rather than the standard pork ribs. Personally, not a fan - too much of a reminder of my Nan's house in the 90s when she boiled bacon ribs on a Saturday for tea to have adequately salty water for the cabbage on Sunday dinner.... anyway! They were grand - just not for me! For mains the hubby had a steak & chips & i had a cajun chicken burger. He really enjoyed his steak, my burger was DELICIOUS and the chips came seasoned with some sort of paprika salt - beautiful! After all that food i was pretty full & before seeing the menu i decided i wasnt going to bother with a dessert. THEN it turned out they had a dairy free sorbet on the menu! Finally, somewhere that had a dairy free dessert that i didnt have to specially request - so i had the sorbet. Raspberry & Lemon were delicious, champagne sorbet not so much! One of the family suggested here for the bank holiday Monday. We usually head for carvery so it was sort of nice to not have one for a change! The place is next to the square so parking is easy and it's €2 for two hours. The place itself is long and narrow and sorta looks half done. Greeted by a nice gentleman who seemed to be the manager we were placed at the bar until the table was ready. We watched the barman Gavin make up loads of yummy strawberry daiquiris. All cocktails where two for €10. I was the driver for the night so kinda disappointed I couldn't try them they looked delicious and my mother approved! So the food anyway, they have three courses for €22 but it's just the usual chicken wings, soup, steak etc. I wanted something other than what I always have. The starters menu was endless they had goats cheese tarts, pear and walnut salad, foie gras and about 8 more things to choose from.. Too much if you ask me. Same with the mains the selection was endless. For some people it's a good thing but for me I hate it as my eyes are bigger than my belly and I want everything! Ended up getting sea bass with chorizo and a lovely risotto with peas and Parmesan. Really enjoyed it and glad I didn't have the starter as it was rich and filling. Everyone else had the steaks and wings and enjoyed them. My aunt had soup she's coeliac so wanted gluten free bread which was no problem they had a huge selection. When the soup came croutons where on top. She didn't fuss and took them out but the manager noticed, came over and apologised and went to get her a fresh one. The wait for the food was abit long but when it arrived was piping hot and fresh. The deserts where amazing too. All in all everything was good just abit of a wait and the waitresses are abit clumsy. Food here was pretty bad and the staff service left much to be desired. The steak I got tasted off, frankly I've bought better steaks in Tesco. I specifically asked for no pepper sauce, and guess what? It came with pepper sauce. When I returned it, all they did was scape it off. They advertise a seafood and grill menu, yet offer no surf and turf, no steak and prawns or steak and lobster tail. Avoid. read more

I've been here twice and haven't been disappointed on either ocassion. I love the way their menu is laid out. If you like steak then this is a great steak house with a choice of 3 types of steak; fillet, ribeye and sirloin then you choose how you would like them cooked i.e. french style, American style etc. and they come served with sauces etc. Staff are very friendly and the owner is attentive but not intrusive. Keep an eye out for their special offers which are also great value and their creamy mash is to die for! read more

This was not a great visit. Firstly, after waiting 15 minutes after our booked time before being seated, we had to wait a further 10 minutes before a waitress took our drinks order. 5 minutes later our drinks arrived but the water for the table which I asked for did not. Another 10 minutes later and our food order was taken. The tables in the restaurant have a beautiful rustic look as they are cut whole from trees. Unfortunately, the table we were at was so badly made that it was not possible to have a glass sit on it without wobbling. The starters arrived and were quite nice, although the wings had so much sauce that the last 3 in the bowl were submerged, they were still very tasty. After starters were cleared, the waitress replaces some of the cutlery. We had to ask her to replace the rest after the mains arrived. I felt pretty hungry so I ordered the T-Bone steak for mains. This turned out to be a mistake. The cut of meat I ordered was the most expensive on the menu, however only 3-4 bites were edible, the remainder was uncuttable because of the amount if grizzle running through it. This was a very badly butchered piece of meat and no where near the €28 price tag it comes with. This should have been spotted by the chef and never served. Finally, when the bill arrived there was a mistake and they had charged us for a drink we never ordered. This was promptly corrected when pointed out. We found this a great restaurant to visit with a child (which is why I gave 2 stars and not 1) and the kids menu is excellent. But beyond that, the quality and service have take a very large dip since my last visit a year ago. I will not be returning and honestly felt ripped of with what I received for my money. read more

The food was simply delicious. I had the battered smoked haddock. And it is unlikely I will ever eat breaded fish again without comparing it to these. Loved the smokey flavour of the haddock, and it came with yummy ratatouille and generous portion of potatoes fries, which I could not finish. My partner had a steak, which he said was delicious in the Irish style, and the vegetables that came as a side with that were filling and flavourful. The drinks menu was standard, and I could wish for more adventurous cocktails. The service was adequate but not attentive. The atmosphere was enjoyable and the place was very clean. Enjoyed my tmeal on saturday night and all that were with me did too. The price was very good too and have at times found myself spending as much in well known american style diners. I had the surf and turf with a beautiful sirloin steak and really creamy mash it was great. Sadly i could of done with a few more prawns. I got two on a skewer and was left expecting and wanting more. Some of the tables are quite close together so i cant imaging it is the bestplace for an intimate dinner or if you wanted to have a quiet chat over dinner. The staff were very helpful and polite with the exception of one who was a bit impatient when we needed a little extra time to read the menu. Overall I really liked my dinner here and will be back again. The cocktail list was really impressive and quite cheap too. read more

I recently visited this place with my son before a match at the shamrock rovers ground. I ordered a couple of drinks which after 10 mins had to call somebody to say my drinks hadnt arrived and there was about 15 people in the place, anyway no big deal we all make mistakes. But the steak i ordered was medium rare, it was awful, tasteless and not pleasant. I had the chicken wings to start which were lovely and crispy but the bbq sauce was cold and horrible. So cold bbq sauce was just put on wings instead off being hot along with the wings. Heard good reviews which is why i went but felt i needed to put other people who are thinking of going here straight. Sorry but had to be honest. read more
