Blaze has the best view on the resort -- we were lucky enough to get the table closest to the beach, and it truly made the experience special. Our server was absolutely delightful, attentive, and kind, which we really appreciated. We started with the cheese appetizer, which was like a deconstructed quesadilla -- pretty good overall. My friend had the tuna tacos. It was not good and the tortilla on the bottom was like wet paper. For mains, I had the cauliflower and side of corn, and my friend had the steak with broccoli and spinach. Unfortunately, everything was way too salty, which really took away from the flavor. We couldn't finish any of it. We ended with the corn cake and chocolate cake, and sadly, both were a letdown -- bland and lacking flavor. Nothing stood out as particularly fresh or flavorful. The most solid restaurant on the resort in my opinion. I ended up going to Blaze for both breakfast and lunch (sadly wasn't able to nab a dinner reservation within the time there). For lunch and breakfast, there wasn't a wait and didn't have to reserve ahead of time. I was hungry in the morning/early afternoon and ended up venturing here twice. Humberto was my waiter, and he was really solid - helping with choosing the best items as well as being great to chat with. For breakfast, I got the egg machaca dish which was absolutely delicious and probably my favorite dish of the whole trip. It was flavorful and came with a super spicy salsa that I adored. I was able to also get coffee refills. For lunch, I got the tuna ceviche and the fish tacos. The ceviche was okay. The presentation made it tough to utilize the two big chips it came with (as the ceviche was on top). The fish tacos were better and liked the sauce they used. The chips came at the very beginning with pico de gallo and guacamole. I was able to get both beers (a regular Dos Equis and the amber). Like most of the drinks at the resort, they seemed watered down. The views are spectacular and some of the best on the resort - being outdoors with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. My only con at the moment here was a bit of just the cooking time. Dishes did take a while to come out much more than the other restaurants. Would totally recommend. read more

The best restaurant at the Hyatt Ziva resort. We came here for dinner with the family twice. Both times a different steak. The first entree I had was the skirt steak, medium. It was cooked excellently and went really well with the chimichurri sauce they had. One important thing to note is that their chimichurri is not the same style as the South American one that you're probably used to. This is a bell pepper based sauce and the flavor is still acidic, but a little different. I could eat a jar of it just the same. I personally love this cut, but the portion is a bit small for it, I had to order another one in order feel full. This wouldn't have been an issue except for the long wait times for your food. I think the first night we waited almost an hour after ordering, and another 30 mins or so for the second steak. The second night was a bit better but it will definitely take a while. The pina coladas definitely helped, but it is a pretty stark difference from the rest of the eating options on the hotel grounds. The hostess and servers are nice and friendly, but I think its due to how busy the restaurant gets at nighttime. Definitely come early, they ran out of seating both times that we went. The ambiance is amazing. Eating steak and watching the sunset over the private beach is an experience. And the fact that you can guilt free order more steaks made it even better. Overall its worth the visit as it's the best restaurant in the location, but make sure to go early. read more

Absolutely adore this spot. It wasn't noisy, very clean, and they lit candles at sunset. We ordered the beef center, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and two Ed baked potato. The Blaze is one of the restaurants located on site at the Hyatt Ziva all-inclusive resort. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's located right on the beach with stunning views while you dine. When it comes to ambience, Blaze cannot be topped. You're literally less than 100 feet from the ocean. If you sit along the rail near the check-in area you may look down on the rocks and see the resident grifter iguana named Panchita who will literally just chill there all day and have people throw food at it. I fell for it too and threw him some pieces of cantaloupe (after Googling to make sure it was safe for the iguana to eat). If you do decide to feed Panchita, please make sure you're offering something that isn't toxic to iguanas. A quick Google search will help you and Panchita. 5 stars for the ambience. Service at Blaze is overall pretty good. There were a few times we had to wait a little bit for our water to get refilled, but the staff were friendly and most of the time on top of things. I'd say 4-stars for service. Food was quite good! We had two breakfasts at Blaze. The first breakfast was quite good and the 2nd one was not as great. We came in near the close of breakfast and I think they rushed it. My hash browns were burnt pretty bad (they exploded when I tried to cut into them) and my g/f's food was burnt too. We didn't try Blaze for lunch, so no comments on their lunch. For dinner, we ate there 3 times. Each time our meals were very good. Steaks were cooked to our liking and had great taste. Sides were all very tasty. Their signature cocktails weren't very good in my opinion, but when I ordered something I liked at a different bar they made that very well. Dessert was uninspiring. Their coconut/tapioca dessert was lacking something. The chocolate cake/vanilla ice cream was their best offering that we had. Overall, I'd give the food about 4.5 stars. Overall, I think it's a solid 4 experience. Getting to enjoy a tasty ribeye while watching waves crash is pretty special and something you'd likely pay hundreds of dollars to do anywhere else. Here at Blaze, it's pretty much free (though I'd recommend tipping the wait staff). We ate here 3 nights out of the 7 nights we had dinner and I'd have no problems going back. read more

Blaze is my favorite restaurant on this all inclusive property. Amazing open air restaurant to watch sunsets while in Mexico. Service is good but language differences can make it difficult sometimes. Lunch they have a nice fish taco - I tried the burger but not my favorite. Steaks at dinner cooked to perfection. New menu is not as exciting. A reverse racism also suck!!! I look Spanish! Except I'm not! He spoke to me in Spanish till I said I can't understand jack! Gave me the iPad of wine menu! Aka the non included part of all inclusive!! For a while!! Because he failed to tell me that the only wine that were included are house red and white!! Tried to upsell the champagne I have in champagne page.. without knowing they are all champagne! He chose the most expansive one too!! Ballinger for $3600 pesos! The markup is real!! And the Italian anger in me is also real!! You suck!! And it keep getting worst!! This was a Brazilian grill! So obviously, they bring out all the meat to your table. I can see the kitchen! While there are a couple of really nice places to eat at the Ziva, this is my favorite. The service is quite good, the food is really good and the view... Simply amazing! I have had the filet here a couple of times and it is really seasoned well, tender and grilled to perfection. Today I had the French Toast and I think it was one of the lightest, most flavorful that I can remember. I had the mole chicken enchilada as well, very nicely done. The eggs Benedict was more than competent as well. I think of we go back to the Ziva we will eat more meals there next time. Carlos really went out of his way to make sure the wife and I were well taken care of. The rest of the staff was also top notch with shout outs to Alejandro, Susana, Aracel, Hector, Joel, Miguel, Jose Luis. Blaze was amazing. It is easily the best food at Hyatt Ziva. While the wait is very long for breakfast, for lunch/dinner Blaze's ceviche is everything. It is probably the best ceviche I have ever had. Hands down. Both visits the service was amazing, though again very very slow for breakfast. But with the view it's not really that bad of a wait. If you're at this resort you may want to make Blaze your new home. None of the other restaurants even come close. read more

During our week stay at Hyatt-Ziva, we enjoyed all the restaurants we visited. But Blaze became our favorite. We had dinner there once, lunch once, and ended up eating breakfast there every single day. All the restaurants are great, but this is the only one that is open-air, and literally sits right on the beach at the water's edge. You cannot beat the view, and it's absolutely the right way to start your day every morning. Marco and Angel both did great jobs of taking care of us over the course of the week, and the food was great. Lots of choices of egg dishes, all with a Mexican flair. The chorizo egg burrito was a favorite. But the best thing to get....which I did 3 times, is the french toast. WOW. And the icing on the cake was watching the "turtle guy" dig up sea turtle eggs each morning. They have a sanctuary at the other end of the beach, where they transplant the eggs to let them hatch in a safer environment. Very cool to watch while you're having breakfast. read more

What an incredible experience eating at The Blaze. I on vacation with my mother at the hayatt hotel at Puerto Vallera. Orr if the deal as that guests if the hayatt can eat at The Blaze. It is located literally 3 feet from the ocean, and it has patio seating. We sat on the patio and were able to hear the sound of the ocean waves, and beautiful birds flying around us. I ate the daily catch of fish which was snapper. It came on a hot plate with grilled vegetables and rice. My mother ordered chicken ceased salad, which she said was great. read more

The food was good however the fish was over salted but really who cares when they went above n beyond for service and experience. Our favorite downtown spot is Trio Restaurant! The Hyatt property is average but this restaurant may help take your experience to a better level if food is important to you- wait staff so welcoming and accommodating!
