Flautas. Beef soup as an appetizer comes with it.

Tasty food. Attentive service. Cozy feel. Off the beaten path, but worth the stroll!! We will be back. Such variety, Bfast, lunch, and dinner.

Regular cheese burger served during the breakfast menu 8am-3pm. 170 pesos

A favorite standby for a great American style breakfast 8am-2pm. Lunch menu service begins at 3pm with a wide range of gourmet style burgers available. The fries are excellent & crispy. Credit cards. Limited bar. Sidewalk tables available in addition to interior seating. Don't overlook the open air patio in the back.

Great food - service and reasonable!! 5 star.

We stopped in for breakfast after years of walking by. I think I never stopped before because Johnny's Diner is just so...American sounding. I'm in Mexico, after all! Also, it sits in a very touristy area of town My judgment was invalid. What a nice surprise! I ordered a couple of eggs, scrambled with cheese and 2 slices of bacon. It definitely was not American style. Not sure what they do their eggs in this part of Mexico, but these were delicious!! Bacon was very tasty too, much more so than other bacon I've eaten around town. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich. She really enjoyed it and we were mostly impressed with the presentation. The sandwich was accompanied by finely sliced apples, mangoes and avocados, displayed very pretty-like. On top of the tasty, good-looking meal, the waiter was awesome. Right there, at precisely the right time, for more coffee, never hovering but always available. I didn't get a feel of diner on the inside, which is neither here nor there, but in the back of the restaurant they have a patio. It's actually a big courtyard between some buildings with a lot of greenery hanging down, kind of like a jungle. Johnny's diner offers burgers, hot dogs, pork chops... Looks like a lot of American comfort food. Prices aren't too bad, a little higher than some, not as high as others. So, now that we finally sat down and had a meal here, will definitely go back for more.

Excellent place for a quick bite to eat in the middle of the Romantica shopping area. Blocks from the beach.

Charming restaurant with three different seating options to chose from. Curb seating in the front if you prefer people watching, comfy booths inside then a private quiet back patio area. The restaurant was immaculate, and the staff was helpful and kind. There were several older locals there who seemed to be regulars. We always say look for the locals and those that seem to be regulars. Breakfast was fantastic.

Cute back patio, nice oval hole that allows some breeze and a window view into the trees

Had a few locals and ex-pats recommend this place so we figured we would give it a go for a late breakfast. Glad we did! The location is easy to find and it has street level, inside and rear patio, we went with the rear patio. The setting in the patio is quaint and very tidy, as are the restrooms. Right from the start are service was impeccable. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very fresh, bacon was thick cut, bread local sourced as was the cinnamon raisin French toast. The hash browns were the real deal, a touch of parsley and a pinch of onion, barely could tell but it worked, very traditional style and they grade their potatoes fresh. And the coffee, full legit! Some of the best we have had in the last 3 weeks down here. They cater to everyone, would recommend this to anyone.

Very nice place. The prices were very reasonable for what you got. I recommend the huevos rancheros.

Pepe and Lee having a Sunday breakfast at Johnny's Diner

Johnny's Diner has recently been taken over by a wonderful and well known doctor called Dr. Garcia, also known as Pepe. He's retired as a medic and owns the first pharmacy after you turn the corner from Basilio Badillo onto Olas Altas. He always gives good medical advice, is willing to listen and wants you to leave his pharmacy and now his new breakfast restaurant with a smile. He told me this himself; this is what makes him happy. He has many dreams for Johnny's Diner, but at the moment treat yourself to an excellent breakfast and/or brunch. The bacon is real, thicker slices than you get anywhere else; the french toast is special, made with a special bread; the jugo verde ( green juice made of fresh vegetables and orange juice ) is delicious; the hash browns are generous, tasty and crispy; the inside patio is charming and quiet; his daughter Luisa runs the place and the staff are attentive and sometimes include his family members or Pepe himself. They want everyone to come out satisfied and smiling ! So go have breakfast here and if you're smiling - share it with others.

The SF Giants logo painted outside lured me into this little restaurant, although nobody there seemed to make the connection with me wearing my SF cap. Anyway, been here a few times, once just for coffee and another for breakfast. The coffee is good but my runny omelet breakfast was a little disappointing. Another annoyance on my last visit - they didn't have change for a 200 peso note and I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to get change

Yummy. Great service. It's typical US style breakfast for the most part. Always good. Always fast! Bottomless good coffee.

They had bottomless coffee and a bunch of freshly squeezed juices which was a great start. Obviously, I had to order pancakes at a place called the Pancake House. I expected them to be good, but wow...they ended up being some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Thick, fluffy, and somehow perfectly soaked up the syrup without getting soggy. It was a stack of three and looked like way too much at first... but I genuinely couldn't stop eating them. My boyfriend got the French toast, and I barely managed to sneak in one bite before it disappeared but that one bite was incredible! I get why he didnt want to share it lol. The service was quick and super friendly. We were joking around with our waiter the whole time which made it even better. The whole place has a really cute vibe too with plants everywhere. Honestly, it was the perfect last meal and such a great way to spend our final morning. I'm definitely going to be dreaming about those pancakes for a long time.

We ordered the chilaquiles and they were so good, definitely a must. We also got a side of habanero sauce, which had great flavor and just the right kick. The refried beans were delicious, the French toast was good, and the coffee was served hot Only downside: they don't accept cards, but they do take U.S. dollars. Still worth it!
