Situated in Zona Romantica in PV, Coffee Cup is a quaint and welcoming little coffee shop that is slinging all the classic coffee drinks plus fresh baked pastries and baked goods, and even a few savory items from quiche to chilaquiles! We popped by for a cold brew, and ended up with a large iced mocha that was simple and perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful, very kind and patient. The shop has a few chairs directly out front and sever tables indoors if you want to enjoy your goods in house. Pricing was great with our large coffees running around $5 USD each. This has become the start to my every morning during my short 5 day visit. Feels like home. Extensive coffee menu including decaf. You can have a full on breakfast as well. Seating inside as well as 2 tables outside. It's just lovely as well as the 2 women who run it. read more

I visited the coffee shop first thing on a Tuesday morning and sat by the door. Due to the coffee shop being quite warm, I opened the front door and let some cool breeze in. Soon there after, the girl working there approached me, and with a stern voice, asked me why I opened the door. I told her that it was warm and stuffy and I wanted to let some fresh air in. She then proceeded to chastise me in an an extremely rude manner that I should have told her, and that she was the only one who could open the door. I want to emphasize that it wasn't necessarily the message, but her demeaning attitude that is most at issue. Too bad because I really liked this place but I will NEVER go back. I've been coming to PV for nearly 50 years and have never been treated like this. read more

This review is based on a single experience during our recent trip here. Coffee Cup is directly off one of our favorite streets in the Romantic Zone. They take pesos only and offer a fun menu of coffee drinks featuring several alcoholic options. I do not commonly take tequila or vodka in my morning coffee. But, wth. Vacationing in a place where we don't have to drive. Why not? Inside has a historic Mexican feel that reminded me of cafes in the Texas border towns. I had The Truffle, with both Vodka and Frangelico, coffee with a profound kick. Half way through it I was buzzing. By the end, even sipping slowly, I was definitely in the zone. Not sure I need that in the morning but haha, yeah. It's PV. We enjoyed the sidewalk seating and the people watching it provided. In July, inside was pretty warm, even in the morning. I'd like to come back and explore the menu more in future visits. Recommended! read more

I love this place when I'm walking back to my room early in the morning after a walk to get a coffee and a bagel California style with tomatoes. It's really nice to eat when I get back to the room and the people are very kind and they're very fast perfect spot. read more

This is a cute small coffee shop right in the middle of the tourist area. It was great to go a few days in a row to try some different sandwiches. Each time we went, the crew was pleasant, quick, and answered our questions. Although the space is small, they have a great (and cheap) breakfast menu that was an awesome start to the day. Be sure to have cash, because they don't take cards. The coffee and tea selection is great - there is something for everyone. I only wished that I had tried some of the cakes in the display case - but we only went for breakfast! read more

I really want to give them a 5 star but service was not quite up there. This is one of the only places that opens early @the area. Capuchino was delish and so was the breakfast bagel. I went for the egg and bacon bagel and it was really good and full filling. I'm thinking they probably hadn't had their first cup of coffee themselves. We've been coming to this wonderful cafe while here on vacation all week. The people who work here are very friendly, the cappuccino is delicious and the breakfast is actually quite good. It's a nice alternative to busier places in the area. In fact we prefer it. However, I'm taking a star off because of the ambiance. So, this review is really for the owner in hopes he sees it and makes a few small changes that I think would make a difference. The first change I'd love him to make is the music. I'm not that picky about music but the channel that's on is old ballads from the 80s - which is pretty mild but it's a little sad and dated, even for an older guy who grew up in the 80s like me. It's just not the right fit for the community that comes in here. It doesn't need to be high energy thumpa-thumpa club music - which would drive me insane while I'm enjoying my coffee - but something brighter and lighter than what's playing as I write this. Please! Try some different channels and see what works. The second change would be some nice paint colors besides white. There's a lovely grey color on one of the walls that is actually gorgeous. People are afraid to use color - often thinking it will make a small space look smaller. The opposite is true. It would actually make it look larger, and more appealing. Look in any design magazine and you'll see small rooms painted with strong rich colors. And while I'm talking about the decor, please remove the small decor items - little signs that came from some basic home design store - and replace them with some local art. This is a coffeeshop in a gorgeous beach town in Mexico. Please bring some of that local flavor into your fine establishment. If you need help, I'd be happy to do this or you can visit one of the nearby galleries. There's a menu board behind the register that's colored chalk. It's hard to read. Please just make simple easy to read signage. You have a couple other signs up that are easy to read, on a white background. Those are great. Do that. Lastly, the outdoor seating needs help. It's uncomfortable and worn out. Some colorful chairs would liven up your entrance. A new umbrella would help also. Anyway, I really like the place and offer these suggestions for your benefit. I'm a designer so I can't help but see the potential of a nicer ambience. I hope you take my advice as positive. read more

It's my second time in Puerto Vallarta but my first time staying at a hotel along the beach. After going to two different coffee spots, I was worried that I will never find a good spot. I was even considering walking a mile, each morning, to the Starbucks location of where the cobble stones start near Zona Romantica. However, yelp steered me well. I came in, mainly due to the good decor, and found this place quaint but friendly and cute. It's a very nice little boutique. Got an iced latte (probably said it a bit too fast) and they luckily repeated it a couple of times in order to get it right. The coffee is good and I am regular. (My body goes into shock on vacations). There's a lot of people from the US that come here. Although I didn't see any (outwardly presenting) LGBT staff, they are very friendly and have a lot of events and even a book promoting the memoirs of a gay pastor. Interesting. Anyways come here for the coffee. read more

This was our fourth time visiting this little coffee place in PV. The two ladies were working really hard. One was making all the food and the other one was making drinks and taking orders. We ordered two bagels and two americanos. We did not mind waiting a little while for it. My only suggestion is: move the sugar/ milk table to an open space. It is located in a little corner where it is so hard to even get to it. Muchas gracias. read more

I was really surprised to enter this little cafe and suddenly feel like I am not in Mexico anymore. Felt very American. But not in a bad way. And they have free Wifi, yeah! I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't say anything about their coffee. But the hot chocolate was to die for. I ordered a small one and got a large. Sometimes, I win at life! The hubby had a decaf something something and was happy as well. Food was pretty good. Pastries and wraps, you can hardly go wrong with those, right? (ok, ok... I guess you can). This is was an accidental find that was introduced to me by 2 angles that found me walking around early one morning looking for coffee in the empty streets of Puerto Vallarta. It is a nice little coffee shop that offer all the classics. The part I like best was the outside seating that allowed you to sit cozily by the street and people watch as the day got going with the hustle and bustle. Very simple, go in, order, wait for your coffee at where ever you choose to sit, and pay when your ready to leave. Coffee was good and service was genuinely friendly as well as attentive when needed. I was glad those ladies found me and introduced me to this place. I will definitely go back again next time we visit Puerto Vallarta. read more

If your looking for a smooth Mexican roast coffee this is the place. We ordered straight espresso and boy was this delicious. Very smooth and bold. The owner Fredrick was pleasant and happy to tell us about the origins of his beans. Definetly my favorite coffee shop in in PV. They serve food as well. Nice little modern laid back coffee shop. The front door closes and keeps it quiet inside. Harder to find in Mexico than you might think. Good wifi. 2 excellent large cups of Americano served in porcelain or to go cup and 1 breakfast sandwich on bagel, croissant or wrap. 128 pesos. Excellent clubhouse sandwich 80 pesos. The service was quick and super friendly. We were joking around with our waiter the whole time which made it even better. The whole place has a really cute vibe too with plants everywhere. I ended up eating here 3 times during my stay at the hotel (see separate review). I was the only one eating late afternoon lunch while waiting for my room to be ready. The Mahi-Mahi Fish & Chips was breaded differently than any I've had before, but it was good and the fish was not overdone. They didn't have malt vinegar but the vinegar provided was ok. Corona beer at about 80 pesos was cheap compared to US. Intrigued, I tried the vegetarian Green Omelet for breakfast. Green olives, zucchini, avocado, you get the picture. It tasted better than it looked. For dinner, Tortilla soup was good but a bit too salty for me. I'm not sure what "Artisan Pasta" means, but the Artisan Fungi pasta was excellent; along with the cream sauce, it was probably the best tasting I've ever had! Loaded with mushrooms! The martinis were also pretty cheap at about 79 pesos. So cheap I had 2. The wait staff was very attentive. Food took a bit longer to arrive than I expected, especially since I was one of two guests eating there during my meals; however, the next time I'm in the area, even if not staying at the hotel, I'd definitely stop by for more Artisan Pasta.
