Excellent restaurant, there's a variety of food that is not found in an average restaurant, but it's very tasty and has a lot of Mexican flavor. Since everything is done right then in there, the service can be a little delayed, but it's definitely worth the wait. Ambient was laid back. Friendly staff. And great prices.

Food was awesome here!!! The service was great, they were attentive. Everything we ordered was so good! It's a little place, but definitely worth a try.

First time coming to Macareno. It's slightly away from the main restaurant / bar scene (but still easily walkable from the center of Romantic Zone). Small and extremely authentic restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. The Enfrijoladas were like nothing we had ever had before. Very, very good food.

WOW! This place is totally underrated and a total locals spot. The quality is amazing and the prices can't be beat. We went for brunch and were greeted by a very kind waitress who made us feel like family. I ordered the shrimp and bean tostada and my boyfriend got a chorizo scramble. The toppings, flavor, and texture were absolutely incredible and we were almost licking our plates. The green juice is also very fresh and made in house. There is lovely ambiance here, cool air from the fans and lots of plants. I would come back in a heartbeat! Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. LOL

A very simple and motley restaurant with no pretense to be anything. They focused on their breakfast and brunch items, which was excellent. Their brewchata was perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess without overbearing. But the star was their Macareno breakfast eggs with toppings. We decided on the asada and still fantastic. But the suggested surprise was their waffles with fresh fruits and delicious ice cream. And holy cow this Enfrijoles was amazingly good! Definitely a visit.

The food here is delicious! Also, their coffee doesn't need sugar or cream it's very tasty. Service is excellent! Ambience is quiet perfect for brunch. You can walk to the restaurant if you're staying nearby or Uber to the location. If you have your own car parking might be a hassle. The restaurant is on the smaller side but the food didn't disappoint!

Older place in Zona Romantica ,with good reviews and going the opposite way of the beach (think cheaper). In a locals neighborhood. Place to me was lower then the 4.8 review it has averaged . Little dusty, but friendly staff and fast affordable food think i payed 10$ for everything pictured tip included. Wasn't really a fan of the red sauce. Other them that pretty good overall experience. And the key factor is they take credit cards. Id have to say i like Soco'a Place much better 1 block south .

    Desayuno burrito and macareno huevos

Amazing quality of food and service. Would definitely recommend. The desayuno burrito and the macareno huevos were both delicious!

Best street tacos inside a beautiful clean open area restaurant. Must try and well worth the walk! Fantastic salsa options with fantastic flavor and heat! We have eaten at several of the taco truck and this place was so good they were able to open a nice little restaurant area! MUST TR

Increíble comida! La señora que cocina tiene un talento increíble. Comimos en la tarde y regresamos al siguiente día por la mañana para el desayuno.

This place is a gem. Best food we've had in PV so far. We stopped in for breakfast. I had the green huevos macareno, my husband had the red. Kids had the pancakes and French toast which seemed like they would be super sweet which in turn were not and perfectly sweetened. The cafe was delicious but if you are looking for something strong- this is not it. Service was great. The server was attentive and very kind. Loved the Boho aesthetic. Would absolutely visit again.

We randomly found this place while in the area getting tortillas and what a gem!! While we were there two different groups on walking tours stopped by so we knew we picked a great place. The staff was very friendly and the food, I could talk for hours about how delicious everything was. I wish I could say we took our time and savored every bite, but nope, it was gone so quickly!! I'm glad we snapped our pictures before trying anything or there may not be any proof of how great it looked

2 corn tortillas stuffed with cheese & topped with 2 sunny side up eggs. Pickled cabbage & radish topping. $100 pesos

A great place for a nice Mexican style breakfast. A large area with plenty of tables to accommodate larger groups. Service is friendly. A good place to meet friends & catch up on conversations as you won't be rushed. Food is all cooked to order (be patient as it takes longer than average to get your order). Sit back and enjoy an Americano coffee which is served in a clay mug with 3 wafer cookies. This is a family operated business. Not fancy but genuine in all aspects. Credit cards accepted but you won't need it as the food is VERY inexpensive. Most breakfast items are priced at 100 pesos (USD $5).

You eat what you order and leave behind your self respect. The dining room is packed tighter than a turtle's pecker. A dozen staff members move around each other like bees tending the hive, the rhythm wild and relentless. The tacos themselves are intimidatingly large, the vibe unlike anything I have ever seen. It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint. Good atmosphere, clean surrounding and great service and vegan food - what more can one ask?

The entire front portion of the restaurant sits directly in the sand, so that's where we chose to have breakfast--under the iconic palapa roof, feet in the sand, overlooking the ocean. From our table you can watch the fishing boats and excursion boats heading out for the day, which gives the whole experience a relaxed, resort-like rhythm without feeling touristy or rushed. Service was excellent from the start--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They brought out a selection of pastries you can add if you want, like banana bread and cinnamon rolls, which felt like a thoughtful touch rather than an upsell. The coffee was very good, with plenty of options ranging from cappuccinos and café lattes to classic American coffee, all well prepared. For food, I ordered the scrambled eggs with Mexican chorizo, refried beans, and hash browns. It came with a basket of warm corn tortillas and several house salsas, letting you customize each bite. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. We also ordered the shrimp eggs Benedict with spinach, which was beautifully done--rich, balanced, and fresh, with the shrimp cooked just right. One thing that really stands out is the ambiance. Being right on the beach, hearing the waves, feeling the breeze, and being encouraged (without being told) to slow down and take your time makes the meal feel like part of the vacation itself, not just fuel for the day. They also offer freshly squeezed juices, which pair perfectly with breakfast by the ocean. The menu is extensive, almost overwhelming in a good way--there are so many appealing options that it's genuinely hard to decide. That said, what we ordered was absolutely delicious and satisfying, and it left us wanting to come back and try more. Overall, La Palapa delivers on every level: location, atmosphere, food, and service. It's the kind of place where breakfast turns into a memory, not just a meal.
