At the Borough Market, the Black Pig is one of the better sandwiches. It is located on the west part of the market, near the seating area. Get their "The Best One" with spicy pulled pork, truffled coleslaw, and Ciabatta bread. The sandwich can be drippy, so be sure to sit down with plenty of napkins when you devour it...well, only if you don't want to look like the pig that you are devouring.

Went straight here when we got to Borough market because we had ready such great reviews around the sandwiches. In the end, it was a lovely sandwich. The truffle flavoring and the cheese was nice. It was ever so slightly difficult to eat but only because it was so packed with ingredients. The meat itself was lovely. Certainly worth the try. We got the Best One, which is the way to go if you're only going to try one! The ordering area can seem super overwhelming, as is everything in Borough. But in the end ordering to actually receiving food did not take nearly as long as we expected. Be sure to grab napkins, as you will make a mess!

Ok "The Best One with Crackling" sandwich is simply ridiculous, in the best way. This really lives up to the name! This sandwich has slow roast free range pork, fennel & apple slaw, honey truffle mayo, salsa verde, peperoncini s'ott olio, freshly shaved 30mo old parmesan and crackling. Insane. The meat is so juicy, tender and flavorful. Everything else provides such an interesting mix of flavors and textures. And somehow, despite this being an objectively hearty sandwich, it doesn't sit too heavy in the stomach. Highly recommend!

Unlike another famous sandwich at Borough Market I've previously reviewed, the sandwiches at The Black Pig live up to the hype! I got The Best One which is basically the sandwich with everything on it. For months I've seen people post photos on social media calling it the best sandwich they ever ate, and they weren't lying. It really is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, with a wonderful balance of flavors and textures. It's quite juicy and messy, so definitely grab some napkins before digging in! The sandwich is quite satisfying and filling so if you'd like to sample other items at Borough Market it would be a good idea to share (even though it's so tasty that you probably won't want to). I would highly recommend The Black Pig and would certainly plan to visit again in the future.

This is a fantastic sandwich that I still think about. It's very big, so if you want to sample a few things at the market, be sure to share it. The line is definitely massive, but it moves quick. Probably took 20-30 minutes total to get food. So nothing insane and we were there during an extremely busy time of year. The staff was friendly and working their butts off. I loved the apple/fennel slaw, and the Parmesan is clearly aged. All the components of the sandwich really compliment each other. It's a nice layering of flavors. I will say that being from the south and having had A LOT of incredible bbq - the pulled pork was very well done but it's not the best I've ever had. I think if you haven't had pork slow roasted - it's gonna knock your socks off. If you've had this style before, you'll still be very happy. But it may not be as novel to anyone who grew up in the southern USA. Overall if you go to borough market, I highly recommend stopping here. It's absolutely worth the wait.

Headed to Borough Market to try the infamous Black Pig sandwich. We waited in line ...very long but took no more than 5 minutes, easy process and smooth check out. To get your sandwich you wait another 5 minutes to pick it up. We were pretty underwhelmed. The Honey Truffle Parmesan had zero honey or truffle flavor. The ciabatta bread was terrific, however loaded with lots of Parmesan which I think masks the rest of the mediocrity. The meat I'm sure is very well cooked, but is lost in the massive amounts of coleslaw and cheese. It's a fun experience, the sammy provides a great photo but this by no means should blow you away. $14.50 in USD for the sandwich.

yes, another review for the honey truffle parmesan sandwich. saw it go viral online and had to try it when visiting the borough market. the queue looked long but the service is very efficient and it took little time (helps when everyone is practically ordering the same sandwich haha) // honey truffle parmesan pork sandwich (10 pounds, added chili for 50p) // pork (moist), honey truffle mayo (truffle was a little subtle but a nice addition), fennel and apple slaw (im really glad they added apple, i think it was such a good flavor addition), lightly shredded parmesan on ciabetta bread. all the toppings worked together very well! if anything, i wish the pork had a little more flavor (not sure why i was expecting more of a barbecue pulled pork from the videos i saw), but the toppings tied it together. we added chili for 50p but to be honest, i couldn't taste much. this sandwich is veryyy hyped up from the reviews and TikTok; i can't say it blew my mind and maybe was a tiny bit underwhelmed just due to all the raving reviews, but it was still delicious and the service was efficient.

Got The Best One with Crackling and oh my goodness it was delicious! The wait was a bit overwhelming as it's located in the busy Borough Market, but I have to say this sandwich was so worth it!

Also, it just moved locations from Granary Square to Lewis Cubitt Square (a 5 minute walk away) which has tons more seating and a lovely green space to sit out and have a picnic lunch...also this move makes this week-day event almost absurdly close to my house. In general, Kerb is pretty awesome. It has a huge selection of different vendors that swap frequently, making lunch in my neighborhood infinitely more interesting. I'm marking it down a star because I've had a somewhat hit and miss experience here. Most of the time it's awesome and I have no problem finding an attractive option...but sometimes the trucks are all too similar or uninteresting. That's probably just me being picky. Highlights of my eating here have been a fab Taiwanese box meal with pork, chicken and mushrooms (yummm) and a delicious fried chicken sandwich. Now that I've realized how close the new location is, I'll likely be there all the time. In any case, I love me some Kerb and am SO HAPPY it's a five minute walk from my house.

How badly have I been wanting to try Spit and Roast? VERY!…read more I love a good chicken sandwich. In fact, I love a crappy chicken sandwich (there are reasons why a Zinger Tower Burger at KFC rocks at midnight after you've been drinking all night). So I was really hoping that Spit and Roast could bring all my chicken sandwich expectations into delicious, mouth exploding goodness. Man, did they live up to my expectations. They were serving a chicken sandwich with Korean hot sauce and a bit of Asian coleslaw (with peanuts). The sandwich looked great. It tasted even better. The hot sauce was hot (but not too hot) and the coleslaw with the peanuts came through like a champ. The chicken was cooked incredibly well with a delicious crispy batter and a soft, juicy inside. This was no dry sandwich, my friend. The only downfall was it was pretty tall and difficult to eat without getting sauce all over myself, but I didn't care, I just dug right in. It is so easy to screw up chicken, but these fellas, they do it right. And I hope that I'll be able to fill my face with their delicious sandwiches again. And again. (And possibly again for good measure.) Oh, they're a Kerb trader so look out for them at King's Cross. Or UCL when Kerb is around there. Or the Gherkin if Kerb manages to convince the City of London that Kerb traders aren't a blight upon their commercial ways.

Now, don't be fooled into comparing this London incarnation to the 2 famous Philly Cheesesteak venues because those 2 spots are tourist traps. You want to compare this to the 'hood joints where you get your sammiches & these guys are well up to scratch!! The meat is in abundance & while I'm not so sure these are authentic Amoroso rolls, they are pretty darn close. Things your cheesesteak should be...Cooked using water - yup, oil is not used in the hoody versions; have a mouth-watering smell of flavour when you unwrap it. Hot, flavourful; meat, cheese and onions should become one unit of deliciousness. These are defo delicious but didn't have the steam aroma when I unwrapped it & they're cooked using oil but were not greasy - thank goodness. Original cheesesteaks may be cooked with mushrooms or hots and the ketchup and/or mustard are added before the meat goes onto the roll. These guys don't offer those varieties but I assure you, these are darn good versions of my beloved Philly Original. I noticed they're offering the Philly pork sandwich so I'll be back to sample that too. Well done guys, very well done! P.S. So I was quite surprised when I saw Liberty Cheesesteak in the listing of places at the Yelp Red event. Immediately I started Googling and found out that a) they looked like some tasty cheesesteaks and b) that I wasn't going to be able to try it until at the Yelp event. My other half was able to try it out though before the event and was suitably impressed. I was so excited to try and eagerly went for my cheesesteak taster and thought, meh. It's fine but a bit dry or something. My husband though insisted it was just because of the making-ahead-bulk-nature of trying to feed eleventy million hungry Yelpers at once and that it was better fresh. So today I hopped on a bus at lunchtime to go to the Mayfair Market at Brown Hart Gardens. Never had been there before and I was impressed with the location - up a flight of stairs, but loads and loads of seating and generally relaxed, with a handful of food choices. Of course for me there was no choice, just meeeeaaaattttt. I found the tiny stand and determined that no one was queuing to order, and eagerly placed my order for a half with onions and cheese whiz. There were about 10 orders ahead of me but the line cleared quickly and I soon had my sandwich. There was a small mix up and I ended up with a whole instead of a half. Such mistakes are fine by me! I was rewarded for my persistence. The meat was well seasoned with a nice peppery taste, and the Italian roll soft but chewy in a nice way. The onions were soft but not sweet, and the whiz was savoury and salty and unhealthy tasting, just like I wanted. 2 tiny niggles were that I had a couple of pieces of meat that could have been trimmed a bit better - but I'm a complete fuss pot and no one else would probably notice. And I would have liked more cheese. But I always want more cheese, and I'm sure if I asked for heavy on the cheese next time that I wouldn't be denied. Definitely better than the cheesesteak I had in Philadelphia from Geno's. Now to just figure out how to follow them around and be a cheesesteak groupie without seeming like a weirdo...
