Cool little deli. I did not get to try too many of the items but i did order a sandwich. It was the proscuitto with some sort of cheese. The service was quick and easy. It seems like a great neighborhood place.

I just finished the best sandwich I've ever eaten in London and I'm pretty excited about it. I got it here at HT Harris, a crumbling and innocuous little deli north of Oxford Street that I had heard referenced on some blogs as being something a little bit special. Just like most places that get 5 stars from me, HT Harris keeps things simple. The old, smiley Italian guy who cuts my ciabatta asks me which cheese and meat I want. Then he drizzles the bread with olive oil, layers both, I repeat, both sides of it with Parma ham and gruyere. With hands that have been memorising these same actions for decades, he then adds some tomatoes, sprigs of rocket, salt and pepper, and whacks it in the panini grill for 4 minutes. I'm in heaven... Its £4.50 for one of these babies which, you might say, is pretty expensive. But consider that all the ingredients are top-quality and will fill you up past dinner, the place is licensed so you can enjoy a beer or even a limoncello with your food, and the service is delivered by someone who's a master of his trade and who unfailingly makes an effort to share a smile with every person who orders from him. Cheap I'd say. But feel free to run along to Sainsbury's. I hear they have a really nice meal-deal on.

HT Harris get the easiest five stars I've given so far. Sure, I'm usually generous, but they really, really deserve it here. Contrary to impressions it's actually Italian run, two old ladies and one old gentleman. They make ciabattas and salads. Slowly, but don't rush them! They're the best in the world! Tell them vaguely what you want and they'll fill the gaps in the most generous fashion with the best tasting ingredients you'll find. So you think you like ham? How about half a pig rolled up neatly on a bed of artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, olives, lettuce and balsamic? That's the parma ham salad. It'll set you back a bit, but you'll struggle to finish it. You can have a doggy bag if you ask nicely enough, though beware of being ticked off that you must finish your dinner. The staff may seem like hard nuts to crack but they are genuinely the friendliest and most sparkling set of people you can meet. Watch out for the 'old chicken' banter between the regular Marge (always outside eating carrot cake) and the gentleman owner. The pasteis de nata are really rather good too, if you've still got room.

What a great little cafe to stop by for lunch! My friend and I were just walking around and the smell that came from the cafe was just too alluring. We grabbed a table quickly. We couldn't see a menu, there were no prices, but we sat down anyway - one of those spontaneous moments. They get rather busy at lunch, so be prepared to get takeaway if you cannot find a table. They only have specials of the day - which could be totally different to what my friend and I ordered. Good service as the waiter told us the menu and gave us the food rather quickly. Overall, it was a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and if I was in the area, I would definitely come again.

I was the lucky one who get 2 kisses from the owner of this place ! :-p Very friendly place ran by an Italian family, quiet and so Nice ! Quality of food is exceptional, hand made sandwiches with local italian products. As enjoyable as simple. I highly recommend this place if you wish real italian food !

As i was saying ;-) I just stepped out of the hair dressers and grabbed a coffee. The cheapest coffee in London (£1) and the panini's are out of this world. Family owned coffee shop, fully licensed and REAL Italian. Its an absolute GEM :-)

The place for probably the best take-away sandwiches in Fitzrovia, it's also a nice spot to sit down and enjoy a sunny day's lunch.

So upon entering the store, I was immediately expecting the classic 'deli snobbery' experience. You know when you go to an authentic Deli where the staff give you the cold stare if you take too lon to order or don't know exactly what you want. Much to my surprise, I was welcomed in a very warm manner. I asked for a selection of meats, and seriously thought this would be the point where they'd start snapping, but nope, again the lovely lady offered a range of sample slices for me to try! Woohoo! To cut a long story short, I came out a happy girl! Lina Stores can keep there over-priced food, along with their moody staff, I'm sticking with my new bestie Camisa & Sons...! P.S. Could have sworn I spotted the 'Son' of Camisa & Sons working in the back room...

I love the '& Son' on the sign - gives the place a sense of continuity and history The sight of all those hams hanging up as you enter the store is enough to set the cookery brain and the stomach going. There is then the main counter with Italian cheeses galore and some deli items and home made pasta. There is also the full range of tinned and dried goods. The dry pasta from here is better than the fresh stuff from supermarkets. In Italy, they believe the pasta is the star of the dish and the sauce is just there to coat it, not drown it but for that philosophy to work, you need high quality ingredients I left with some pancetta, ham and mini mozzarellas

Oh my giddy arm, I cannot believe that a place in London exists where they would let me order food, eat it and then let me leave without paying (due to not having enough cash on me), trusting me to come back later after I had run my errands and gotten to a cash point!!!! Even when I offered up the change that I did have, they said I could just hang on to it and then pay the bill in full later if I wanted to! Set right on the corner of West End Lane and Mill Lane, David's is a family run business in the perfect location, with lots of seating, both inside and outdoors, with an awning to cover it, and plants surrounding the front area, separating you from the street a little. This would be the perfect place to come for breakfast/brunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The menu is extensive, with lots of meze options, as well as sandwiches, bagels, salads, pies cakes and cupcakes (the woman next to me ordered a small meze selection with pitta - I can't imagine how big the large option would have been!). I opted for a salt beef bagel (which came with a pickle and coleslaw), which if I am completely honest, didn't really do it for me, BUT I should have known this from the start, as this place just didn't look Jewish enough to satisfy my salt beef bagel standards... My cappuccino was good - nice and frothy. I was also pleased that they have the option of skinny or regular. It's nice that they have a big pile of newspapers and magazines to browse too - handy if you are on your own and don't have any reading material with you. In all honesty, I probably would award this place 3 stars for my bagel (and the fact that at £4.50 I think it was too expensive), but for overall service, atmosphere and enjoyability of experience it gets full marks. David's is Deli(ghtful) and I will be back!
