VA Goods is located in Selden Market, the incubator space mall in Downtown Norfolk, and it offers exactly that, goods made in VA. You can find anything to food products, jewelry and even glass blown items that is made my the owner herself, who is a glass blowing artist, among many things. - Parking - There is street parking available, as well as, the parking garages nearby. The one I like to park at when going to Selden Market is the Hilton Main parking garage as it is attached to Selden Market. If you get off on level P1, it will lead you directly inside Selden Market. What I found: I was specifically looking for VA-themed stickers and thankfully I found one that is in the shape of the state, with mountains on it with VA printed on it. I also found some VA is for lovers rubber keychains and VA peanuts! I got some chocolate covered and some Old Bay flavored. Mmm, maybe my friend will let me taste them once I give it to her LOL. You know how it is, just before going on a trip....so many things to do, so little time. I was so grateful this was a quick and fruitful trip! I got most of everything I needed and I was out within 15 minutes! Pro tip: At the time of this writing, they are offering a check-in offer on Yelp of 20% off your first purchase! This is subject to change at any time, so don't hold me to it if it's not available anymore when you go. You snooze, you pay full price. If you are looking for unique items from VA, VA Goods is the place to go! Enjoy, Friends, and never stop exploring!

It has since before been torn down and they have moved just down the street to their current spot. We unfortunately are not able to frequent Ghent Seafood since our move to Iowa, although it's on of the first stops when we are in town. While visiting some friends in the area for the new year we of course swung by for some delicious seafood. We decided on some salmon and scallops to grill up that evening. The scallops we huge and beautifully sweet and the salmon just as delicious. John always gives great cooking recommendations and will cut everything to order. He even remembered us after being away for 2 years. If you are looking for great seafood Ghent Seafood is really the best stop around!

I think he's one of the few in town so you better call ahead and get what you want! He seems to have a lot of regular customers so that should tell you something. It's a nice fish market that also sells other little snacks and wine. He's a really cool guy. Good price is. The fish was fresh I have no complaints! (He seems cool so he's always welcome to call me)

Owner was rude! Last…read moreFebruary my husband and I flew to Norfolk and took the ferry to Portsmouth for the day. We found this shop and a beautiful (and pricey) piece of pottery in the front window that unfortunately I could not fly home with. Fast forward to today over 5 months later and it's still there. This time we drive and it was coming home. BUT... when I entered the shop the owner or employee was upstairs and when I said I needed help she continued to yell from above instead of coming down to the COMPLETELY EMPTY store. I explain I'd like to see the piece in the window and the she replies "Well I can't just take it out." I say "Even to sell?" She starts shuffling down stairs and muttering and says "I can't just take it out to look at" under her breath but loud enough for me to hear. Well that was it. We just told her not to bother herself and left. Enjoy your completely empty shop when it's closed because you can't be bothered to actually sell anything. And I agree with the owner... She had zero patience to actually sell anything. Not on the phone not doing anything but sitting upstairs and didn't want to be bothered. Just laziness. If you don't want to sell something big and can't be bothered to move it maybe don't put it in your display window or hire someone not rude and lazy. I try to shop local and support local businesses but if you don't want to be bothered and then LIE about it then you don't deserve the support. And if you were sorry you did a poor job of showing it.

This a a wonderful place to find those "hard to find" items for the Kitchen that you have been looking for or perhaps even the items that you didn't know that you needed. The salesperson was very friendly and helpful with our questions and she was savvy enough to offer suggestions for things that we had not considered. She was not pushy at all and we felt very comfortable just roaming around this eclectic store. A person could spend an hour (if you have the time) and still not "See" everything. The prices are reasonable for the quality offered and my Wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. If you are looking for for a wonderful place to pick up some items for your Kitchen, stop by the Kitchen Koop. You will be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting local business!
