Most butcher shops have the full 15 lb brisket but nothing smaller, Village Butcher had an 11 lb brisket. Headed to the shop and found it to be clean and bright, with a large display case full of options. The shop owner was pleasant and professional. We got the brisket and added 4 lbs of burger meat. We taste tested the burger meat vs some store bought that we had and obviously everyone preferred the flavor and texture of the Village beef. The true test came the next day with the brisket. First time making the recipe and it called for 6.5 hours in the oven. Completely covered in foil, so we had no idea how it was going. It came out fantastic, super tender with great flavor! Village is worth returning to!

Not only is it cheap, but the quality of the meat are much more superior. They're individually packed and labeled so they're easy to store in the fridge or freezer if they won't be consumed immediately. All you have to do to get this deal is call one day in advance. They also allow for substitution (i.e. turkey bacon instead of regular bacon; just be sure to ask if they have it first) and will inform you of any out of stock meats but they're more than happy to replace it with something equally as good. With the amount of meat we got, our dinners will surely last close to two weeks! That's cheaper than what we get buying mass produced cuts of meats at the grocery store. They have only been operating for a month now, this was their third brewery appearance. For appetizers they have a buffalo chicken dip and pimento cheese nacho- talk about solid brewery apps! Most of their menu items are types of wraps. Their special was chicken fajita tacos (Cinco de Mayo celebration) and for dessert they had a crispy ice cream sandwich. One unique thing that I don't see many food trucks do, is they offer kids menu items as well! Again- it is just their third day- this could all be totally different once they are more established and have tried different things. I opted to get the ice cream sandwich, because I'm a total sucker for dessert. I ate this first. Two crispy shells with a cinnamon sugar mix and if I'm not wrong it possibly a second seasoning that had a little kick to it. Maybe it was a touch of cayenne? Definitely not strong or overpowering in spice, just a little something to make it interesting. In the middle was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a scoop of chocolate ice cream. The vanilla was complimented by the cinnamon and the chocolate was complimented by whatever that other ingredient was. I was definitely a fan! The more I ate the more I wanted more! I really wish they had more of a social media presence because I personally like looking at pictures of the food before I order for the first time, but oh well! I will say-- they had a delicious looking blueberry biscuit on Facebook but I didn't see it listed on their menu, bummer! We ordered the Q and Slaw with chicken, the Pimiento Mac Bowl and a side order of pulled pork (just to try!). I like how they gave us a pager so we could go sit down and enjoy our drinks. The man behind the counter said it would be a while, which it was. It took about 25 minutes, but the food was PIPING HOT when we received it! It was tortuous having to wait for it to cool!
