If in doubt just ask for Kimmy, she's amazing but I almost hate to put that out there because so is everyone else...just that one bad apple. I haven't taken many pictures over the ten years we have been going but will say we have NEVER had a bad meal at Buttered Bunns. Nearly everything is homemade and absolutely everything is very good! And I'm a super critic! I'm attaching the pics I do have and will add more as I go, to help the business. They've always been open for breakfast and lunch 7-2 and it's amazing...but now are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 8pm. Full menu...but the specials are AYCE catfish on Thursday, steak on Friday and chicken on Saturday. My point in this review is to try and get Buttered Bunns enough business to continue the Thurs-Sat evening hours. It's a 90 day trial that they are doing. And let's face it, dinner in Miami is your choice of numerous Mexican restaurants (FYI the newest one is more expensive and no better that the smaller places), and Mia Bella - a mediocre Itialian joint, casinos, fast food, or Montana Mikes which made a brief rally that I praised here on yelp a few years ago and then they promptly plunged again to the home of extremely overpriced crap! As I say this I also remember Woodys. Always overpriced but the food was good when Jeff owned it. New owners (same as Main Street Cafe) will drive it into the ground soon enough. We do have a few pizza places that aren't national chains but none of them offer anything exciting as far as toppings. Same as or less than the chain places...and Cruisin 66, the new wood fired place is the biggest disappointment of all as far as toppings go. Oh and we did have a phenomenal chicken place -Wing Club- (wings, sandwiches, wraps) until last week when the city condemned their rented building after just giving them a license to operate in said building a few months ago. Talk about some sh*t there!! I think they are getting a food truck now so kiss that one good-bye. Back to Buttered Bunns who has always been good... Consistent, homemade, real, excellent service. We live in the next town over so it's a 30 minute drive for us but we have been doing it each week to support their new evening hours. Please do it with us to help this fabulous small business succeed! I can tell you that you can't go wrong with any breakfast...my fav is two eggs over medium, hash browns crisp, sausage or bacon, and hotcakes! So good!! Lunch is so hard to choose! The chicken strips are bomb! So are their sandwiches and "dinner" options too! The AYCE catfish tonight was the best I've had in a 50 mile radius, or more! Several casinos in Miami do AYCE catfish but it doesn't even compare! And the sides at Buttered Bunns are SO much better! The dining area is open and I love listening to the regulars talking with the staff and each other...we go once or twice a week but are from out of town and only a few servers know us and only from our visits to the restaurant. I think some folks must be there every day, especially for breakfast, but they also know the staff outside the restaurant. Anyway...it's a great place to eat and a Small Business in the small town of Miami. I hope this review sends you in to see them!! Oh!! Also...their pie is fabulous! Especially the coconut cream. Best pie crust I've had in a restaurant ever! Good fillings are common but usually come in a crappy crust. Not at Buttered Bunns, their pie crust is tender, flaky and flavorful! I ordered hot tea and am so happy to have received a cup of tea with a pot of tea back-up! Yes, all the tea please. The lemons on the side added to my tea joy. It's the small things. My SO ordered himself an open faced roastbeef sandwich. This is shredded roast on top of a sweet roll smothered in gravy with a side of mashed potato. He certainly ate it like it was tasty. (I did confirm - it is tasty.) I went with an a la carte breakfast of two eggs and one pancake. The pancake had a slightly sweet taste and is fluffy. The eggs were cooked perfectly 'over easy'. You can tell they are cooked as eggs should be over a low heat - no scorch marks on the outer edge. Bathrooms are in the back left corner and are cleanest where it matters most. Diaper station in the ladies room. During our visit many of the guests knew each other and chatted amongst themselves. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly. They kept a close eye on all the guests making sure everyone had everything they needed. All together a good stop.

At the bartender's suggestion, I ordered the Chicken Genovese and it was SO GOOD! The sauce was a combo or Alfredo & Marinara and the chicken was tender and lightly seasoned. Enough for two meals. At first I thought the place was A La Carte order off the menu, but then my server Kimberly was like, "its a buffet style." And that was completely fine by me. What's even finer is the final tab that came out: $12.99 for a brunch Buffett at a casino....that's unheard of..,... But my message to management..."I know I don't have a players card, but I do get some kind of comp for donating 500.00 right?" Anyways. Very nice ambiance. The entire casino reminds me of an Airport Lounge in Taipei, Taiwan. Modern, wood accents, white lights, complimented with warm orange and Earth tones. Not a big deal, a bit disappointed but nothing an excellent meal can't fix and the menu looked promising However, this place is not built for drive through food. Their burgers were served in paper wrappers which within seconds the grease had gotten through and poured into my lap. The only ranch they had was salad packet ranch and they provided no containers to pour it into. Another example of how they are not set up for drive through operations. The food took a very long time to get to us and when it finally did the burger was disgusting. Had an extremely off taste like maybe the meat wasn't quite fresh and it actually made me sick. The only reason this place doesn't get a 1 star is because the kids meals came on cool cardboard cards that was really neat and the chicken nuggets were not terrible. Other than that, at least as a drive through option I can't recommend a since that is 50% of their operations it's definitely a poor mark against them as an establishment.

I'll try something other than the mashed potatoes next time, they were fine but not a standout by any means. The gravy was meh. After a lot of salt and some pepper it was ok but I had hoped for real gravy instead of a mix. The Mac n cheese was good. Needed salt and seasoning - everything needed salt- but the pasta was al dente which we loved. Emma was our server and we knew her from before, she always does a great job! We took apple pie home just to try a dessert. It was not too sweet which we appreciate but just good, not great. Still we would order it again. I can see us eating there a couple times a week. Prices were fair, one thought though would be to lower the cost of iced tea. We used to always get pop or tea with our meals but now only get water. And I see so many tables doing the same. I don't know what a restaurants cost is for pop now but I'll never pay $3 for it. Tea is cheap to make and could be a much lower price and I think the local community would appreciate that. Next thought is that we liked the pool table in the side room. Maybe add a dart board and a game or two when you start serving beer? Kind of like the vibe at OMG Lounge in Owasso (amazing burger and fries). So our overall opinion of the entire meal at Downtown Grill was very positive and we are super thankful to have someplace in town that we like instead of having go to Bluejacket, Chetopa, Edna or further. Try it out y'all!
