The server was not very attentive- for example, I asked for the added Brussels, bacon and onions as an add on to the tenderloin tips but I never got them. We also waited a while for drinks and we had our order taken about 30ish minutes after we got there, despite the lack of customers. She was very nice but the service was disappointing. The meat quality however, was really great and both dishes pictured were perfectly cooked, totally recommend the little Jane. But the tenderloin tips left much to be desired literally, because it was not much food at all. For 20 dollars, I would like to feel fullish, but it felt more like an appetizer or tapas than a full meal. The other people in my party got a special (the beef stroganoff) and chicken Alfredo, which both were good, not spectacular. The part that was enjoyable about the pasta dishes however, was the fact that they have different pasta specials, so you could get the Alfredo with linguini or the specialty pasta of the day or week (I don't know which). The pineapple mojito was noteworthy as well, fresh and you couldn't taste the alcohol at all. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but it wasn't a very positive experience, especially for the high bill. Will I ever go again for dinner ? Probably not Will I go for drinks? Absolutely! Order food with drinks? Only out of necessity since most appetizers were 15+ Was it a nice place? Yes! But was it worth it? No

We've been to Black Sheep Bistro twice recently, and unfortunately both visits were disappointing…read moredue to ongoing kitchen and management issues. On our most recent visit, the steelhead trout appetizer was rancid. I mentioned this politely. While the new bartender was professional and tried to make it right by offering a replacement appetizer, it never arrived. Our food then took well over an hour to come out. Although I didn't complain, the bartender noticed the delay and comped a round of drinks, which was appreciated. When the meals finally arrived, my wife's grilled chicken was significantly undercooked. She got a full bite of raw chicken. My lamb had good flavor but was inconsistently cooked, with rare pieces despite being ordered well done. On our previous visit, my mother-in-law ordered the crab cakes. Her meal was served about 25 minutes after the rest of the table, and the crab cakes contained almost no crab. She ultimately did not eat her dinner. She brought this to the manager's attention at the time, and no effort was made to correct the issue. This is now two visits in a row where I've watched family members leave without being able to eat their meals. The bartender clearly understands service, but the kitchen execution and management response are where things are breaking down. I'm sharing this in hopes that ownership or management takes a serious look at consistency, food safety, and follow-through. This restaurant used to be much better, and I'd like to see it get back there.

However, I would imagine that, depending on your taste, it might be hit or miss, but that is strictly subjective. I got a Birria taco and a Picadillo taco. The birria was amazing (see pic) with pulled beef, cilantro, and onion (typical traditional style), the other one was some kind of minced meat and potato (still good but not even close to the birria. Also, I got a "large" shake and the thing is the size of a 7-11 slushie!! However, I think the ice cream had some homemade element to it, because it was kinda gritty and icee. Didnt have a tone of flavor, but not big deal. Final thought: I gave it a 4* but it is VERY close to 5. The birria was a 5* for sure. Will definitely go again because they have like 20 different breakfast tacos that I need to try. Since I am a breakfast, brunch, and brinner kind of guy, breakfast tacos are good any time of day!

Their tortillas are fresh and homemade every time. Honestly good enough to take home and eat on their own smothered in butter. The barbacoa tacos are one of my go-to orders. Always consistent. The papas a la mexicana are another favorite, sometimes with some eggs mixed in. Horchata is excellent too. I usually sip some on the way home and mix the rest into my coffee. I haven't made it there for lunch or dinner yet, but for breakfast tacos, this is one of the best spots on this side of Corpus.

We thought to give them a try again. Bad Choice! My Wife ordered the Chicken Caldo! Not Good! The chicken looked like it was still somewhat raw, the carrots were not cooked but hard and so was the 1/2 Potato! We had to raise our hands and wave just to get "Wait" Staff attention! We sent it back and she got a "Kids" Chicken Crispy Taco plate ($7.50) with one taco. We had to flag down our Waiter again who appeared to be doing some cleaning behind the Counter. When he took our order there was no greeting no smiles and he appeared not happy that we were there! As a matter of fact all the "Wait" Staff seemed to not want to be there! Bad Vibe! My $3.50 Carne Guisada Taco was very small and was tasteless. It was suppose to come with Lettuce, Tomato and Onion but those three items never showed and neither did our Waiter. We felt lucky to get any service at all. In spite of it all we are always very good "Tippers" and finally got a smile from our Waiter after he realized we had given him a 33% tip. This was our second time there and not a pleasant one. Maybe it's better at night!? We're NOT Going back! We, in Good Conscience, cannot recommend this establishment!
