Great selection of ice cream, covered outdoor eating area, play ground for kids and bbq. It's a great place to go in the summer!

Only complaint was that the trays were too small for the sandwiches! The onion rings were sweet..a little greasy, but I'd order them again...great on the Little Butchie sandwich! Dylan served us so efficiently and with a positive attitude this afternoon. He always had a smile on his face, got our order correct for our party of 6, and offered us take home boxes at the end of our meal. Bathrooms were clean and neat too. Don't miss this great spot!! You won't be sorry!!

Nickels Pit provides three or four sauces you can put on. The tater tots were crisp and hot. The corn muffin was large and tasty, with a coarse crumb. The greens had some sort of cheese sprinkled on. I liked everything I ate. I ate as much as I could, and had the cold leftovers two days later for breakfast. It was still good. The service was great. I was the only person in the restaurant (Monday night in winter) and the server was very willing to help. He improvised a hot toddy for me, which they don't have on the menu, and it was very pleasant. Cost was $51, including tax and the toddy ($8), but leaving out tip.

Ordered togo cause it was along the route on my cross country roadtrip and I am writing with heartbreak that I probably will never eat here again and that I don't have anyplace similar back home. The like was long - post even about 45 minutes but it was expected. got a buzz on my phone and it was off to the proverbial races !!! Nice combo indoor/ outdoor bar with patio with an open face to the building and architecture. Drinks while waiting were strong and affordable. Our waitress was warm and welcoming. She made us feel VIP the entire evening !!! The Bbq brisket and ribs were delicious and the Mac and potato salads were very tasty. I recommend the corn bread with the maple butter. Lots of sauces to choose from. The meats were a riot of Smokey goodness. If you're in Watkins be sure to stop in. PS. Probably the best most thought out to go packaging I have ever seen. I really appreciated the thought behind it. No plastics, no wax cups. Cardboard with vents so your food doesn't get soggy on the journey home also included a bag to put it all in without asking. Top notch. picture included.

We tried the 1/4 lb platter. With fries and potato salad. The pulled pork was amazing. Great flavor and very tender. The smoked sausage was as good as any smoked sausage I have had in upstate NY. The chicken was also very tender and had a good smoked flavor. The ribs had a lot of flavor and were not over cooked like some places do. The brisket.... Was brisket.... Maybe it wasn't made today which is fine. It tasted more like a roast than a brisket. My wife and I differ on our opinions of BBQ houses. I like to try the meats before I put any sauce on. My wife like it covered beforehand. This place doesn't smother it but does put it on before I got a chance to try the meats. The potato salad was ok but not bursting in flavor. The pieces in it are cut fairly large. It was ok. Fries are fries. A little over salted. But they did have malt vinegar. We might try this place again.

I wondered if it had really been barbecued. I didn't finish it. The ribs were okay, but not enough to make up for the brisket. The only part of the meal I really liked was the broccoli, which had been cooked with bacon. The plate below, with ¼ pound each of ribs and brisket, cole slaw, small corn muffin, and broccoli, was $47 including tax and tip. Price, service, and atmosphere were all acceptable, I have no complaints there. But the food was not good enough to bring me back.
