I'm still in love with the ambiance of this place. Art everywhere! And not just one or two or even…read more10, but many. Every style, medium, and vantage point you can think of (or not know about) is here. It welcomes you via the front windows and swaddles you as you walk further in. And the team here are some of the friendlist folks you will meet downtown. And recommendations? They have plenty. They've been there for over two decades so they know a thing or two. Of course they can give you background information on each of the artists' whose work is in the shop and sometimes even some insight on the piece itself. But I also want to highlight a aspect of AOB that I constantly make use of; framing. Once you make it to the back (after joyful hours of looking at everything while en route), you will see a workshop area. There one or two team members will always be hard at work (though never too busy to answer questions). I have brought quite a number of posters, prints, and paintings over the years in search of their guidance in what frame to choose, how to frame it (matte/no matte/thickness of-color-etc.), and even the optimum glass. And every time they have come through. When I ask them to push me out of my comfort zone (aka, solid color frames), they did and my piece was the better for it. Their presence and their services are invaluable to downtown and our community. If you haven't been, or if it's been more than a week, I recommend you stop in soon. You can thank me later.

The very first experience we had with this started off on the wrong foot: my wife came home one…read moreafternoon to find 3 men on our roof with no call, email, or any communication about when those people would arrive. The only line of communication that we had was from the girl who works the front desk about them dropping off shingles, which they had done the day before unbeknownst to us. So the crew worked from 2ish that afternoon to right before 10 that night. They left a huge ring of shingles and nails around the house so that neither my wife, myself, or my dog could exit the home to the yard. I was informed by the owner that they "don't do cleanup until they are done" and that it was "standard practice". That night it began to rain as they were leaving, and they threw a tarp over the roof, did not secure it, and it rained on the new paper and tar all night after the tarp fell off after about 5 minutes of wind. Which then led to a water spot in our living room about 3 foot long. We called to let them know, and they sent a crew out to "repaint" the ceiling. They crew used a can of spray "killz" that you can buy from lowes, sprayed the area, never sent anyone to checked the roof, wood, or insulation, and called it good. Yet again, i was told this was "standard practice" and offered nothing other than an apology about no one contacting us about the guys coming out. I am more than reasonable about timelines and crews being "subcontracted" out, but this seems to be unprofessional on every level of contact we've had, especially as no one has reached out to us from the company. My wife and i have always initiated contact to get to the bottom of an issue. Our roof seems to be in standard condition and up to code, but the experience getting there has left a bad taste in our mouths and i cannot on any level recommend this to anyone i know in any form.
