I wanted to buy a nice custom spring suit, but not outrageously expensive. I was a walk in…read morecustomer, and they accommodated me without an appointment which was good. The "stylists" were friendly and seemed knowledgable. My wife and I spent about an hour looking through fabric and having my measurements taken, which overall was fun. My sone small criticism at this stage was I felt they prodded me a bit too much into upgrading from "custom" to "bespoke", despite the fact that I had already agreed to spend what I consider a lot of money. After we finalized all details, they told me it would take 6-8 weeks to make and arrive. Eeeee. That's longer than I wanted to wait...but fine, good things are often worth the wait. Four weeks later, I received a call and was told they haven't even started making the suit as they don't actually have the fabric I selected. They then (albeit gently) again suggested I upgrade to "bespoke" so I could get a similar fabric. I was frustrated at how long it took them to identify the issue, so I ultimately asked for a refund and they didn't fuss too much and reasonably promptly refunded my credit card today. To give them the benefit of the doubt, they very well may have been a "one off" kind of mess up, but I lost patience and am now in the market for a competitor.

I didn't want to go to any old traditional tailor as I want the modern designer fashion GQ look, this is what they specialize in. Staff is nice and very relaxed here. Lots of people seem to like getting their wedding suits here, I'm not ready for that yet but when the day comes I will surely trust my big day to the guys at Garrison. Highly recommend.

The shop features glass work that the proprietor has had commissioned from students in the arts at Ryerson - one way in which he contributes back to the community, custom made iron work around the windows from local craftsmen and women, not to mention his own paintings, sculptures, and murals that demonstrate his varied artistic talents and usually incorporate a captivating blend of contrast and texture regardless of the medium. Don's passion for art and eye for fashion is carried into every garment that he makes. I have trusted Don to choose materials and patterns for me in a very consultative manner, giving him free artistic licence on the finished product, and I have never been let down. I love the way I feel in my suits from Trend. They fit perfectly. It is also nice to get frequent compliments on my shirts and suits. I'm often asked where I bought my shirts and suits, which is a great compliment to Trend's finished product. I'm pretty shocked to have come across such polarized opinions of this business on Yelp. What does NOT shock me is that both negative reviewers share something in common: a total of one review each on Yelp. I would disregard them. I went in to try the suit on last week and it was so great. The jacket fit so well, I was very impressed. The pants were fine but I expected them to be slimmer, maybe a personal choice but I was told they would make the changes no problem and I'm just waiting for the alterations now. Other than the slimness of the pant leg, everything else actually fit really well. I got my jacket unlined and it looks really good. I was worried it might look weird but they did such a professional job that I think it looks better than if it were lined and now it's also a little cooler to wear. Overall this looks like a great place to pick up a suit!

On a semi serious note Soren Customs is an Amazing Experience! I was looking for a Custom suit for myself and my Groomsmen and searched tirelessly on the Internet for some place in Toronto with great reviews. I called and emailed several suit places. Soren got back to me right away and from the moment I walked in they treated me and my groomsmen like Gold. The Soren shop is simply beautiful. You can definitely tell that a lot of thought and effort went into the design. Marc offered us a drink from the moment we walked in and his knowledge on suits is plentiful. You get to choose everything from your fabric, lapels, fit, buttons, monograms, and probably a bunch of other things I am missing but I can tell you that the entire Process was extremely easy and Marc and his team (Ida his assistant) helped us thoroughout the entire process. The EXPERIENCE at Soren is like no other and the suggestions Marc gave us have made me and my wedding party the stars of the show...dare I say...maybe even better than the Bridal Party? (yes I went there...haha!) The Custom fitted suit is unlike any other suit I have owned and the Compliments I receive from people just validates how well Soren suits are made. Key Features: Nice clothes, suits of armour on the wall…read more O.K. So that's the good thing - the clothing is great. It is. There is nothing wrong with it. When you walk in, you'll probably feel comfortable. There are suits of armour on the wall. It's fantastic. I'm not one for hip, and with it, clothing stores - but, I tell you, I kind of wanted to after walking into this location. Although, I'm not sure I'll ever understand the allure of a $60.00 trucker hat. Now, that's where the good ends. My story may not be typical. It hinges on two factors - I'm a big guy, and I don't like being lied to. If you're there to just pick something up off the shelves, then - by all means - get your gear, buy it, and love it. My tale begins as my friend's wedding approached. I was to be one of his Groom's men. I needed a vest. A lovely vest that can only be purchased at GotStyle. I didn't even mind the $150.00 price tag, because it was a beautiful vest. There was nothing not to love about it. My friend had left our sizes with the good people of GotStyle, and I called ahead, and said I'd be coming to check it out. The wedding was 4 weeks away. I took the bus down to the store, and when I got in, I told the girl I'd e-mailed that I was here for the vest. She smiled, nodded, and then kept me waiting 10 minutes while she chatted it up with some guy at the front who, apparently, shops there often. They talked about their clothing addictions. I appreciate that. You need to strive off of return customers when you sell $120.00 t-shirts. But, as a new - potential - customer, this was not ideal. As for the ten minutes - that's accurate. I time stamped the event. It was probably more like 11:37 but who's counting? The vest comes. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me. It's too small, by an inch. This is not ideal. A vest needs to be done up - especially for $150.00. I cried inside a little, but she said - "Don't worry! We can get a bigger one!" I was elated! I went home, and thought nothing of it. One week passes. I e-mail, wondering about the vest. Nothing. Two weeks pass. (The wedding is now 2 weeks away.) I am told that there is nothing they can do. They can not get a vest that will fit me. Now let me tell you something about tailors - tailors can make vests. Tailors can get them done, in a similar style. In fact I was quoted that I could get the same vest, cheaper, if I needed it by... TWO DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING. This was not ideal. The next week and a half of my life was spent in a frantic hell trying to find a matching vest, that I could wear, to not stand out. I tried 8 places, 2 countries, and discovered all number of places in Toronto. Had GotStyle been up front on the day I went in, none of this would have been an issue. I would have got a vest made from a different place, but they strung me along for 2 weeks saying it would be no problem, until the finally left me in a terrible place. And they knew when the wedding would be. Long story shorter, I ended up getting a similar (too small) vest at another store. The rain was pouring that day. I remember it well, as it was near the end of the vest-adventure. Three days to the wedding. The groom found some fabric that matched the vest. Two days to the wedding. The night before - THE NIGHT BEFORE the wedding, my girlfriend's mom was able to tear the vest apart, that was too small, sew in the fabric, and create a passable copy. It was a good adventure, when it finally ended in success - but it was terrible, stressful, and awful up until that moment. And all of it could have been avoided if I wasn't lied to by the staff at GotStyle. So - you make your own decisions. Maybe you fit, "off the rack," clothes, and have the money. If so - head there. If customer service is an issue for you? Maybe this isn't the place. This is just my story. It seems other people love it. And - remember - I, too, really wanted to love this place, as well.
