Of all the shops I have visited while qi pao shopping, this was the shop I was happiest with. Elsa the owner was very patient with my mom and I. We were taking a look at the huge book full of cloth samples as well as dresses they've made. It was nearly closing and she didn't rush us at all. I tried on one of their sample qi paos and almost died... fit like a glove! I didn't get the same feeling w/ the Pacific Mall crap as the gold materials there were too cheap to be reckoned with. But as always, quality also comes w/ a pricetag. For a custom made traditional silk qi pao it would be approx. $299 (includes alteration). A qi pao w/ double stitching on the lining would be $340. You get to pick your material from the sample book or you can provide them w/ material and they'll make it for you. Still thinking about whether to get a traditional one or a modern westernized qi pao instead. But if we go the traditional route... this is the place to be. Their qi paos are really amazing.. and it's no wonder they provide them for Fairchild TV's Miss Chinese Toronto pageant the last few yrs.

Its home to my favourite camera store, Aden Camera, where I purchase most of my hardware. They also have great tasting food from several outlets and stalls. A couple friends and I decided to do a food challenge to see what we could each get for CDN$20. We met the challenge and enjoyed some great tasting food. Our preferred vendors included QQ Noodle King, Go Curry, Chloe's Convenience, Hi Anna's Basket, Shark's Fin City, and Prairie Lamb Kabob. This mall has something for everyone. Check them out!

This place offers a great variety of supplies and the prices are very reasonable. Hides, patterns, tools, paint, etc. They have an online store too, so check em out. Whether you are just getting into leatherworking, or already quite experienced, they seem to have something for everyone. I was eyeing some beginner kits, but decided to try another day. The staff are very knowledgeable and approachable. Many of them were chatting with customers who had questions. There was a workshop going on in the back, making keychains, and looked like a very fun activity. There are also free classes now and then. Would love to try some day.

The fellow that helped us was prompt, polite, knowledgeable and all around lovely. Customer service is a very important part of any shopping experience for me. He took my products up to the counter while I continued to shop, so my hands were free, helped me locate things when I was having trouble, made suggestions for my project and even offered to special order items for me which they didn't have enough in their store. The selection was awesome and I left with everything I needed. It was certainly a very positive experience at Tandy Leather's store location; I will definitely be back.
