The Barrymore has had a history as diverse as the current entertainment on its schedule. It is an independent, community-based theater, owned by a nonprofit corporation. These are dying in America, so let's support the one we got. There is something here for everyone at least once a year! Not a big picture taking gal so no evidence to support this claim but I'd venture to say nothing about the theatre appearance has changed in my time. Who knows when it last did. And that's what you need to know so you are coming with right expectations and not "corporate" ones. This is a no frills joint, an old school theatre where your focus is on the entertainment. I get my pre-show chow down the block and simply enjoy amazing acoustics for all of the live music I have witnessed at The Barrymore. This setting does really well to beautifully showcase a man and his guitar. We will see how it does next month with a man and his guitar and a piano! Truly we should be thankful to share an intimate room with some of the best musicians of our generation. We need The Barrymore for hosting them and to continue to make the sound superb. The venue hosts a variety of entertainment too, which I appreciate though it's all live music for me. It's worth looking at their schedule to find something to attend if you are in town for a long weekend or more. Visitors should stop here for a Madison experience. There are Barrymore ticket sellers around town so if you want to buy a physical ticket in your neighborhood, you can do that. Huge plus.

We ended up staying for hours because the vibe was that good. The owner and staff were an absolute joy: warm, attentive, and genuinely fun to be around. Bonus points for the 2-for-1 drink specials because yes, we absolutely got lit here. As a vegetarian, I felt fully seen because they went out their way to make me veggie tacos that were so good I'm still thinking about them. Drooling. They also offer pizzas and other food options, so everyone wins. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming energy, and a space you actually want to linger in. This spot is a must and we will 100% be back. Definitely a must try when you are in Mazalan!!!

It seems like they will for at least the time being try to wear both hats. They have a nice selection of coffees to choose from. They also have a nice selection of specialty alcohol drinks. The staff was quite proud of using a computerized pour system to mix every drink the same way each and every time. My votes still out on the computer made drink. We all have our favorite bartender for mixing a drink a certain way, not sure how I feel about developing loyalty to a machine. The owners did an incredible amount of remodeling to make the Garden Lounge what it is including a poured concrete bar top. A really nice upscale atmosphere for downtown West Bend. A definite worthwhile date night or after dinner destination. There are no windows to the outside, making it the perfect spot to transition from morning coffee into day drinking and being blissfully unaware it's the middle of the day They offer homemade frozen pizzas and a handful of appetizers to boot. We tried the wonton wrapped cheese sticks and rangoons. Both went quite nicely with a few cocktails. Welcome to West Bend Garden Lounge & good luck with your future.

The outdoor volleyball courts also appear to be a summer draw. The inside is large, clean and appears mostly updated/remodeled. There seems to be a significant amount of wasted open space in the area away from the bar. If this area is used for local bands then I say spot on, if not then the space is under utilized. We visited about 6 p.m. on a Friday night. There were about 20 people sitting around the bar and few tables. We were able to sit at a table without a wait at all. The server/bartender were pleasant and I could see they were engaging with the customers they were familiar with. In a bar I think it's how the staff interacts with the customer that determines if the customer becomes a regular. Those working had the right attitude and I would return because of that. Our dinners on our visit were the cod/fries & pecan crusted pan fried walleye/fried garlic mashed potatoes. The style of how the walleye was prepared was beyond what I expected from a bar environment. The food was typical of what to expect in a Wisconsin bar, fried & somewhat greasy. The coleslaw with dinner had good flavor but was to small of a portion. Prices were reasonable minus the $2.50 surcharge to use their ATM. There are many options out there I won't rush to return but also wouldn't be opposed if someone suggested going to "Our Place".

(we booked this months in advance, and followed up more than once.) The only staff that was there was a DJ who was also locked out. I did get a phone call at 1:30 (remind you that this party was at 12-Noon) telling me that "he" was there then and wanted to know where were. I told them he moved to another location, he said "but didn't your daughter want a skating party?" --- I was speechless, hung up and continued celebrating her birthday at a new location.

They have a semi-private room you can rent and pizza and soda is included! It was great because the only thing we had to bring was a cake and balloons, which was so convenient! I just can't say enough about the qualities of the staff and how crucial that was to just making sure my daughter had the best day and that all of our guests had fun too. It's clear that they truly care about their patrons and about the success of their business. Even the high school kids that worked there were working so hard...great work ethic! Seems like they have new carpeting and they played great music that everyone enjoyed!!! They even let my daughter go into the DJ booth to say thank you to all of her friends on the microphone. We invited all ages to the party, and here's the best part, they allow scooters (and have them there for rent) for kids who didn't want to skate or couldn't skate. And parents were allowed to walk out on the floor in shoes to help kids. They also have "walkers" that you can rent to help little ones learn to skate. Really helped so that everyone could be involved! I also want to address the other reviews written. I've heard that they're under new management. Based on the disparity of my experience versus the other reviews from a couple of years prior, my guess is that they've definitely made some changes...for the better, for sure!
