What was once a row of single family homes along this dark "Bend" in Morgan street has been transformed into a beautiful neighborhood bar. The Bend Bar effortlessly blends into its surroundings and feels like it belongs here as much as any of the old trees lining the street. This bar truly gives to its community, it's a place where you will find many of the local residents enjoying a drink and feels more like a gathering space than just a drinking spot. Inside and out, this sleek bar is where sophistication meets minimalism, it's stylish without being pretentious, elegant but never cold. What could you expect for a drink? I would say this bar needs to step up its game--right now, their drinks are about as bold as a bedtime story. Cheers!

Love the outdoor seating and options for cocktails, beer and food all in one spot. There's a walk up window for ordering food and drinks. You're given a number for food and someone brings it out to your table. Started with the cocktail spritzer recommended by the bartender - good, but would not get again. Great beer selection, and enjoyed a very good sour. For food, we had pimiento cheese, which was good but would go with the lunchable next time (comes with pimiento cheese, meat, pickled veggies) so we get more variety. We shared the spicy Italian sandwich, which was good but missing some of the ingredients listed on the menu. Overall, great outdoor seating with a solid drink selection, and good food. We will be back!

I love this spot. It is a full service bar that offers beer, wine, cocktails and alternative beverages. The outdoor space is great. If you are hungry, you can order food from next door at State of Beer on their shared patio. The Bend Bar is a must visit for a drink. Plus, they have a parking lot.

The newest bar in Raleigh, brought to you by the folks from Trophy Brewing is now open. Located on the W. Morgan Street bend, the Bend Bar offers a cozy setting for beer, wine, cocktails and conversation with friends. The main bar is a lovely, lit U-shaped designed to look like a hifi speaker. And the large patio wraps around with plenty of covered seating. There also fire pits and cornhole off the patio if you want to get a bit rustic. The patio is also connected to the future State of Beer 2.0 and one additional building (TBD). Overall it will be a fun spot in this burgeoning section of Raleigh. Drop on by and check it out!

Wow! I said I'd come back but I didn't realize it had been 8 years!…read more My husband Dan H and I had a great lunch with some friends today. We all shared an order of fries for the table, which were amazing. Then I got the grain bowl with shrimp, and everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. My husband enjoyed his biscuits and gravy with fried chicken- so tender and decedent. Our friends enjoyed their meal, too, and enjoyed the apple custard for dessert. The mocktails were also delicious- I loved one with hibiscus and ginger. So nice to have a bunch of mocktail options! The ambiance was just as great as it was 8 years ago- spacious and light. The server was great, and let us linger for a few hours without hovering. Hope to be back sooner than another 8 years from now!

Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.

We enjoyed several small plates, and not a single dish disappointed. Every bite was memorable. I stopped in just a they were opening on a Friday and thank goodness I showed up when I did, this place gets packed quick and you should book a reservation to be on the safe side. I was most excited about the duck egg rolls but ended up being my least favorite not because they were slightly on the dry side. Flavor was good, and the hoisin honey sauce really helped! The seafood dumplings were second best, stuffed full. The soup based was amazing and it also came with some bread for dipping in the leftover sauce. The pork and chive shumai were my favorite! A little bit bigger than bit sized but worth the mouth full! Absolutely would recommend. I'll 100% be back for more food. The bar side looked to be more casual, the dinning room was full of high tea attire so I did feel a little under dressed, thought it would be slightly more casual. They have the cutest library with free books to read but only while you dine in. The flower and book shop are in the middle of the space. Super cute, limited options but great for a last minute bouquet!

Beignets, beignets, beignets!…read more This place is perfect for a girls night, date night, friends night, solo night... honestly any night! I came here for drinks and dessert with friends, and the star of the show was definitely the beignets. As someone who has visited New Orleans and tried the real deal, I thought I knew what good beignets tasted like. Turns out, I did not have to travel that far after all! The beignets here are like a cross between a classic beignet and a croissant. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of indulgent. I will definitely be back to check out more of the menu, but no matter what, I am saving room for the... say it with me... beignets!!

The Service was outstanding thanks to Hayley. Her recommendations for pairing the drinks with the food were flawless, and each drink was prepared like a work of art. I started with the raw oysters, paired with a glass of Rose, which I loved. They switched from the Halibut with Fennel to Mahi with Forbidden Rice. The rice is black and inky and potent and extraordinary, but it overwhelmed the fish completely. Still greatful I got to experience it, but I would pair it with something more gamy like lamb or goat. The Pecan pie with warm salted caramel ice cream was nothing short of a spiritual experience, and Hayley's recommendation to pair it with Rum Flip was perfect. Yes, I Ubered. Overall, this one is going to be a frequent hangout.
