It was the perfect amount of food and it was incredible. I would also recommend the Speak Mimosa I would recommend making a reservation after 7pm, just to be safe. The waitress was friendly, checked in, but didn't linger. I've been to the Melting Pot before - and it does NOT compare. It was priced as expected - it's not a fast food restaurant and it's worth every dollar. (Two soups, the classic fondue, two drinks and tips was just shy of $100). I've attached a poorly taken photo - we were too excited to eat it to get a picture in time.

This place has managed to at the same time feel like a very high-end restaurant (probably because of the ambience, the very friendly and attentive servers and the amazing food) while still appealing to the locals for a quick lunch or dinner due to its reasonable prices and down-to-earth location in Stayner. Definitely make a reservation if you can, we have been there on a Monday night and it was busy, although it is lovely and quiet for lunch. Certainly one of the best restaurants in Ontario.

A stunning property with a beautifully decorated interior. When we pulled up and into the…read moreestablishment, it was really well put together. We were greeted at the front by the hostess and seated by our waiter. The patio set up was stunning and since it was snowing outside the fireplace warmed up the space. We came in at about 4pm which was on the tail end of lunch but beginning of dinner, so we were able to order from the dinner menu. We ordered the prime rib sandwich with lobster bisque soup, Caesar salad and miso glazed bone marrow. We were very disappointed when the bone marrow came out, we had thought it would be hot and easily spreadable but we were sadly mistaken. It was topped with a shrimp ceviche, caviar and micro greens. I felt the dish was two separate items smashed into one - the bone marrow was cold and chunky, tasting like you were eating chunks of fat mixed with the shrimp. We were interested in the Caesar salad because the waiter mentioned it was popular dish - but when this all came out, it looked & tasted like a regular salad. The prime rib sandwich wasn't anything spectacular and the lobster bisque tasted watered down. We finished off our meal with a London fog cream brulee which was delicious and a pistachio cheesecake. Overall we weren't fans of the food but we fell in love with the stunning decor & atmosphere.

The staff are truly exceptional: friendly, attentive, and working with a level of coordination that almost felt like I was watching a performance. It was honestly one of my unexpected highlights. You can feel how much love and care goes into every detail. We got their 20-course tasting menu with the non-alcoholic drink pairing, and it was such a thoughtful journey. Every dish focuses on local, sustainable Canadian ingredients, each component designed to add depth, texture, or contrast. You're not just tasting food; you're tasting art, the decisions, the craft, the hours of trial and error behind each bite. The flavours are rich, bold, and expressive. It was a little heavy for my personal palate, but still such a fun sensory trip. The drink pairing was definitely needed to help reset between dishes and keep the experience balanced. Each sip was just as creative as the food. (I could honestly see myself buying their drinks by the jug if they ever offered lol) I don't want to spoil your experience with The Pine if you're planning to visit. But if you leave your familiar expectations at the door and come with an open mind, you'll have an incredible time. You don't go to The Pine just to eat. You go to experience, explore, and appreciate the craft behind Canadian ingredients reimagined by an amazing chef and team. A truly fun night!
