This pastry business is located in a tiny cottage, think She Shed, on a small side street in downtown Blowing Rock. Everything was nicely labeled and priced but there were names I hadn't heard before. Julie was very informative and kindly answered all of our, "Ooooh, what's that?" questions. We were torn between a couple of items, so like any sensible person, we bought both. She told us to eat them at room temperature for best enjoyment. She said the "Crème" is homemade puff pastry with a thick layer of Mousseline Cream. That means they take their crème patisserie and then add silky butter. Is your mouth watering yet? We each got a Crème and a Cream Puff. We ate the Crème first and sweet mother of all things delicious, it was otherworldly. We immediately prayed that the Puff would have the same filling. It did. When we go back next year, I'll be getting a treat for everyday we are there. TIP #1: Beware Donna. She was in the next store Serves You Right. She offered to take our pink pastry box. Everyone in BR is so nice, we thought she was being helpful so we could shop. Then we saw the humorous glint in her eyes! Pastry Thief! LOL!
