Quite possibly the smallest liquor store in Ontario…read more I was honestly surprised with the amount of selection at this place. This LCBO is a small building located right beside a convenience store just outside of the Pointe-au-Baril Archipelago, and just a couple minutes away from Sturgeon Bay Park. My camping group and I made this a favored destination over the three days we were in the area, largely due to the deceptively-diverse amount of stock at the place. We picked up several bottles of rum and spirits to share between us, and the store had a surprising number of choices. (We ended up settling for Kraken rum - that stuff sneaks up on you.) The store also had a vintage cabinet and a fair amount of wines to choose from. The employees were helpful and gave us some helpful recommendations. This is exactly the kind of service and offering I'd expect from a far-out-of-the-way location. While it may not be as varied as some of the locations in Southern Ontario, this LCBO is undeniably convenient and had helpful and fast service. The building that looks like a converted home is just the icing on the cake. Well worth a look if you're up in the area.

It's much nicer than some of the larger ones I go to in Toronto (cough cough Galleria and Bloor/Ossington). They've got Ontario craft beers and a chilled wine area to cater to the diverse tastes of cottage goers and locals. It's right on the main road through Rosseau, you can't miss it. Perfect if you didn't feel like waiting in a huge Friday night line up in the city and can manage one evening at the cottage without drinking. Or, alternately, you drank through all your booze first night up and need to load up. Plenty of parking. Don't drink and drive, kids.

My niece was of age and had I.D. to prove it…read more When they went to the cash register she asked my daughter for I.D. and my daughter said she didn't have any (even though she wasn't purchasing the alcohol!!) The LCBO employee then denied the purchase stating she "overheard" them talking. I then came into the store to which the employee told me she couldn't sell me alcohol because it was now a 3rd party sale!! Here I am, a grown women, being denied alcohol sales by some women who has decided to profile innocent girls who weren't doing anything illegal!! I've been coming to this LCBO for the past 15 years and I've never run into this. I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars and today was told no by a girl named Tess!!! I know it sounds like I'm ranting but give me a break!! If I truly wanted to purchase the alcohol for my daughter I would have done it myself!! Bottom line, Port Carling is a very small town and business is seasonal, this is purely someone who is abusing their (lack of) power!!!
