I have no idea how to rate this restaurant. When you first walk you feel like you're on the east…read morecoast. The servers are all kind and friendly and everything look cute and fishing themed. We had a party of 12 so this might explain why our food took so long to come. Some people at our table got their food straight away but I got my food 1 hour later and even then my order was wrong. I asked for pan fried pickerel got deep fried and it was very dark even burnt in some places . Not golden brown like fish and chips usually is. My friend got the lake fish and was told that she got trout even though it clearly wasn't trout. I was disappointed as this restaurant looked pretty good and was such a cute little place. Side note there is a store downstairs and might not want to get any food down there because it is overpriced and stale.

They had ordered all 4 types (white, pickerel, etc). They were different and delicious in their own way. The homemade coleslaw that it came with was unique and light. The breading on the fish was thin and crispy. The fish chowder was filling and great for 2 people. Service was a little slow but the servers were kind. There is very little parking so plan accordingly.

In July 2020, in the midst of Covid, as we begin to experience a bit more freedom, my husband and I…read moretook advantage of an opportunity to dine at a dockside patio. We hadn't been out in over 3 months, so it felt like freedom! We were camping at Killbear provincial park, and decided to take the opportunity to dine at a patio, just a few minutes south of Parry Sound. Better yet, they let us bring our little dog, a Transylvanian Hound named Makita. We were seated promptly at 6:00, and the staff just loved Makita, giving him lots of attention and bringing him some water and a little treat immediately! The other customers seemed pleased to share the patio with him, as I noticed people smiling as they passed our table. Makita seemed to sense that he was on display, and was a well-behaved little fellow all evening long. The pleasant, masked waitstaff took our drink order. We began with a Bellini cocktail, which was refreshing and delightful on an extremely hot July evening. My husband ordered Caesar Salad and Ribs, while I ordered the Microgreen Salad. On the recommendation of our server, I chose the Pan-seared Pickerel as my main course. Makita had a grilled chicken breast, and some of my rice pilaf. My meal was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the candied walnuts and arugula in the salad, and the pickerel was magnificent, with its lemon-caper dressing. My husband enjoyed his salad, but found the ribs to be a bit over-smoked and "hammy". Some people like them that way, though. Makita really relished his chicken breast. The view of the harbour and surrounding terrain is spectacular. This is a beautiful and romantic spot for a little getaway, even if you are camping with your dog. Makita had a wonderful time and left with his tail wagging. If my husband and I had tails, we'd have been wagging them too! If you are near Parry Sound and looking for a nice little restaurant with locally sourced food, then try the Glenn Burney Lodge. You can bring your dog, too!

This was our second visit to the patio restaurant at Glen Burney. Nice little spot on the water,…read moregreat service from our server Melizza, and most of the food was good. My wife had pan-seared pickerel and I had the stuffed chicken. Both were very tasty with fresh seasonal veg and really good seasoned rice. Dessert was great - chocolate fudge tart with some fresh berries and whipped cream. Two things were not good though. The Cesar salad we shared at the beginning of the meal was probably the worst Cesar salad I have ever tried. All the romaine lettuce was white (none of the good green parts of the leaves) and it was chopped way too small, almost impossible to pick up with a fork. The dressing was thin and fairly bland, cheese was sparse, and there were no anchovies. And at $18.95 for this very poor salad, we were quite disappointed. I regularly make Cesar salad at home that would put this salad to shame (I'm a veterinarian, not a chef). The other issue is that this place is looking very tired. My view (my back was to the water) was a torn plastic sheet and some old life jackets on hooks. The window near us looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Time to put a little effort into the place. This could be a great spot with some attention to detail and a little more effort. Hopefully we'll see some improvements here, as there are very few dining options in the Parry Sound area.
